I went in for a quick trim- left with uneven, wet hair and a really uncomfortable experience. It was shocking to hear staff gossiping about me and other customers in Vietnamese, assuming I didn't understand. The comments being made right in front of us were unprofessional, judgmental, disrespectful and absolutely disgusting. No one should feel talked about while sitting in the chair. read more

I lived in Renton for years and wanted to find a salon close to home for convenience I was recommended by a friend so I went to this place to give it a try and completely happy with the results. Very good price for the service, women hair wash and cut for $25 + tips (up to your generously) you cannot find such deals anywhere else nowadays. Lien was my hairdresser. read more

I was really disappointed with my haircut. I asked them to cut about 4 inches off and add layers but ended up with over 8 inches gone. I also didn't receive layers in my hair like I asked. Overall it was a bad experience and I will not be returning to this place in the future. read more

So my daughter and I decided that we wanted to get a hair cut.. rather than driving out to Seattle, we settled for this place. Went on a Saturday around noon - it was packed and it was busy. I believe it was the owner who quoted me about 15 minutes, they got to us about 20-25 min; no biggie. I think they do a good job for mens cut, but in terms of women/girls its a mehh factor. We both had different stylist, we usually get a "layered hair cut, to cut it short enough that we can still tie our hair up" Daughters cut was barely layered at best. Mine, more depth however found a strand of hair that was longer in the front. Would I consider coming back just because its cheaper? (Women $14; children $10) MAYBEEEE but I wasn't happy with the cute, luckily it'll grow out . You get what you pay for they say.. read more

I don't know what's wrong with the lady who manages this salon. When I sat for my haircut, she asked for the type of haircut that I want. I showed her a photo that I didn't see her looking at. Before keeping away my phone I asked her if she understood to which her reaction was - you don't ask me a question. You just show me and I understand. I clarified that my intention was to ensure that she has noticed the kind of haircut that I want before I keep my phone away. I am not sure what triggered her but I found this response rude. I wouldn't have given a single star if this was it. The haircut that I got was the worse I have ever got. I also got the haircut for my 4 year old and it was substandard too. This place is overcrowded and they make you wait even after making an appointment. I am not going to this salon ever! I've been to the salon several times and this is the second time I've had a bad experience so I will not ever go back. I went in to get my very long hair trimmed, and I literally was in the chair less than five minutes. The girl only trimmed the length. I wanted her to give me better bangs and trim the layers and it was just a horrible experience. I don't even know why I paid and I also think it's extremely rude when they talk among themselves language, other than English. She acted like it was an inconvenience for me to be there. read more

I would give this place a negative star if I could. I asked for a layered hair cut, to thin out my hair and keep the length. The hair dressed proceed to cut my hair shorter gave me uneven lengths, and choppy layers. You can literally see a huge drop from short to long without any blending. Now I have to reschedule at another place to get this mess fixed. I should have just forked over the $80 in the first place to a more upscale salon instead of going the cheap route. I have to thank my cousin for recommending this salon to me, cause not only are they really reasonable but the way they take the time to cut your hair and have a good conversation while they do a great job is amazing! I came in to change up my hair style a few times and usually they know the style you like or get cut, but they take care of you. When they did the hair shampoo they REALLY WENT IN on my head! Have had very bad to good experience but was hesitant with a female staff as my hair are very voluminous and dense and female stylist generally get tired :) . But Lily didn't disappoint me at all. She also did it step by step taking more care on damaged portions of my hair very well. Had a great experience here! Staff is well trained, kind, and considerate. A popular spot for kids cuts, men, women, and families. Was here walk in around 12noon on a Saturday and almost no wait. Wanted a trim, layers, and bangs. Stylist was nice and wanted to chat alot which I loved. My hair is pretty thick and natural so as of now I am keeping it long and my stylist made sure I kept the length and just got rid of the weight and thickness with some long layers. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR HAIR STRAIGHTENING. SHE RUINED MY HAIR AND SHE KEPT RAISING HER VOICE AT ME. I WAS INSULTED IN FRONT OF ALL OTHER CUSTOMERS. I decided to receive this permanent hair straightening, because my hair was a little bit curvy, and I didn't want to spend time straitening in the morning any more. I received the procedure from Lily, I talked with her to make sure she knew what I wanted, which was straight and "FLAT", "THIN" hair. When she finished it, my hair looked a little strange, because it looked dry and fluffy although it looked straight. I waited for a few days to wash my hair just like she told me. But once I washed it, it's ODDLY STIFFY straight, and it's FRIZZY, THICK and BIG. The surface hairs look better, but if I lift up the surface hairs and look inside, they are slightly frizzy and push each other, and this little frizz in each hair accumulates and makes my head really big. Now I need to flattening every morning to correct her mistakes. I paid almost $300 for the service. Two weeks later, I went back to the Q Salon to consult with her for this issue. She admitted it, and said "Sorry, it never happened before, I don't know why" and she did the flattening procedure again. I asked her if this correction procedure would make my hair really FLAT and THIN this time. She said "yes." I appreciated her effort. But, once I washed it after the waiting period, it went back to the same big head again. Another two weeks later, this time I went back to her for a refund. She was busy and told me to come back at 2PM. So, I did. This time SHE WAS UPSET AND KEPT RAISING HER VOICE AT ME. ALL CUSTOMERS AND WORKERS THERE LOOKING AT ME AS IF I AM CRAZY PERSON. She kept saying she did the correction procedure to make me happy. But that's not the point, the truth is that it didn't fix it at all. Then, she started saying my hair looks fine and she did it right, and she has no intention of refund whatsoever. EVEN IF I receive a refund, I need to see my big head like a caveman every morning in the mirror, it's depressing. Instead of giving me AT LEAST a refund, she insulted me in front of many people. Maybe it's her strategy to make me go home by making me embarrassed...Every professional makes mistakes once in a while, and I understand that. But when it happens, please do the right thing with honesty. read more

Don't get a Japanese super straight. My hair was only good for a week. It got burnt. It's been over a year and my hair is still recovering. I had to cut my hair short to get rid of the damage. And I'm getting it trimmed every 2 months to somehow get the rest of the damage out. Total rubbish place. read more

I had to wait about 5 minutes, then asked for a 3 inch hair cut. I was literally in the salon and out in less then 15 minutes (5 minute wait, less then 10 minute hair cut). I came to the Q Salon to have a Japanese hair straightening done on my hair. My hair is pretty thick and curly but Lily did very well and took her time doing the treatment. We had very good conversation and that made me comfortable. Lily is a really great stylist and kind woman. I was really nervous about having this huge change to my hair but Lily explained everything to me. I will definitely be coming back for my touch up in a couple of months. It is very hard to find a salon that will do this treatment for an affordable price. I am very satisfied with the results and the money I paid for it. Um HELLO!! Either it's been a loooong time since I had a good hair salon experience or this place lives up to the hype. Just got my hair shampooed, cut, layered, blow dried, and styled/ curled for $20!! I have never been here. Just happened to look on Yelp. It was a great outcome. I am in shock of how great it turned out for such a low price. This makes me want to come in every month. The wash peaceful as most places usually are. They had a different style chair when they washed my hair. It was almost like a small bed which was way more comfortable than any chair I have ever sat on during a wash. The salon seemed very clean to me. The conversation was fun and friendly. The stylist Quang asked what I wanted every step of the way. She gave me a lot of option to choose from since I had no idea what I wanted- I just knew I needed something different. I have a lot of hair so another stylist came to help Blow dry and that was awesome because I didn't have to sit there getting overheated! Thanks to her friend for helping out.
