Since I was in town for my wedding, the stakes were high, but Charlie delivered a perfect cut and style. The service was top-notch--he's incredibly easy to talk to, and the salon itself is spotless and modern. If you're looking for someone who understands Asian male hairstyles, Charlie is your guy. I'll be booking with him every time I'm back in Seattle. Highly recommended!

Since my hair is rather thin and not dense, we decided we want the ends to be fuller. He suggested different options which I appreciated :) He also did a similar consultation with hair color, given that I already had balayage previously and had 4-5 inches of black roots out. His studio is very nice and spacious for a solo studio. Charlie is also very personable and we had a great conversation- he gave me great life advice haha. I would highly recommend his services for asian hair! Excited to go back again!

Everyone has a bad day at their job and that's no reason to lambast anyone, but when it's a hair…read moredresser ... you are left with a look you have to live with and cannot switch up like an outfit. This is worth raising a red flag at least for the next unsuspecting Jane Doe. Particularly when you bring in an old photo **of yourself** with a haircut you liked well, but she insists would not work on your hair (?!) Not taking any time to consider how my hair fell and felt *when dry,* rather shooing me off to the hair-wash basin should have been the first red flag I wished I had heeded. Rushing a customer through is also noted by other reviewers here. Jayme should have taken the time to consider hair texture while dry, listen to concerns, offer a hair cut strategy and get concurrence from the customer. But, nope. While at the wash basin I tried to describe my unequal hair volume on both sides of the head (thanks to fall out). She may have been listening with half an ear. Very nonchalant, and seemed uninterested. Oops did I mention I did not pull up in a Porsche, Mercedes or BMW. Once in the chair she trimmed my underlayers to meet the crown layers so that the previous choppy mismatch was corrected...and yet I noted she didn't blend the ends in order for it to sit with a neat profile, it sat with a blunt edge. I know my hair curls when dry so it needs a shaping for the edge profile-- otherwise it is very severe. I showed her a photo of me, in a past haircut that I liked. I wanted the front to be shaped so it wasn't a severe straight curtain of the same length as the rest of my profile. She resisted cutting my front portion to shape a gentle frame around my face. It was impossible, she asserted, because my hair would spring up too high. How would she know? She barely look at it or touched it when dry!! The worst of it is that I spent well over $100 for a haircut that does not look symmetrical on either side of my face because...she didn't hear me about my thinner left side of the head. So the "fuller" right side is technically the same length as the left side, however, because more hair, it looks longer. Heed your gut and just avoid a hairstylist who doesn't seem really into you as customer.

Okay, I've legit being going here since I was a baby. My parents are family friends of the owners…read moreand pretty much our entire family used to see them at one point. They have an awesome staff and street parking. They do give you parking passes if you have a service (such as coloring) that takes longer than the street allotted time of 2 hrs. The Salon location used to actually be a block down the street and it was large and roomy, I believe a bar now took over the location so now this place is near Chop House Hair Salon and Red Apple. This location is currently closed to COVID, but their Renton location is suppppper nice and BOOMING! I actually love it at the Renton location because it is much closer to home for me and super convenient. I always see Teresa for my hair needs. Like I said previously, I have been seeing her at the Beacon Hill / Seattle location since I was little. She styled my hair for all my middle and high school dances. Gave me my first haircut, perm, highlights, Balayage and the list goes on. Typically, I always need to refresh my balayage and come in for a split end trim. I always get my hair layered bc its super thick and heavy. Teresa always knows exactly what to do. If I'm going for something different than my usual, I bring in pictures and that is all she needs! They got snacks, free coffee, tea and other beverages. They got a great selection Oribe & other hair care Products! Love love love it here! Thank you Salon Nouveau for always treating me and my hair needs!

This woman has been doing my lashes for a while and they are the fluffiest, most long lasting sets I've gotten. Trust me when I tell you, this retention is ! She's very accommodating as I started to get allergic reactions to the glue she was using, she had other glue types which were hypoallergenic or just better for sensitive peepz. Not only does she do lashes but she also does hair! I've attached some photos of her work on my hair! Pricing is competitive but also depends on the service you are getting. I have so much hair and she got through it without a problem... the fluffy volume lash fills are also at a fair price! The salon is completely new so you will feel completely comfortable and refreshing during your appointment. Not sure if this will change but during my appointments, the salon did not have a receptionist so you contact your artist once you have arrived for your appointment and they will bring you back to their station(s).

I was very skeptical since it was my first time getting a perm, but Mindy was so professional and talked me through the process and how to care for my hair after. Can't recommend her enough!

After reading reviews online, I scheduled an appointment with Mindy, the owner of this salon for…read morehair color. The experience was horrible. The salon was so dirty. She put a dirty towel that was on the dirty floor on my back and neck. I felt so grossed out. I was so shocked when this happened because I never thought it would be this dirty in a salon in Bellevue area. I thought I picked a good, reputable salon for hair color. She showed many unprofessional behaviors. The hair color result was not what I expected and I have been getting hair color at different salons for 20 years. (I changed hair stylist whenever I moved to near area in WA state. I often try to find a new hair stylist close to home or my work place.) I am not new to this process (hair coloring) at all. Normally I go to Aveda salon in other area and they were able to dye my hair from original black hair with grey hairs to lighter color in one visit without highlights. I told Mindy that I wanted the root to match the color that I had before. She said that she could do that but the color came out very dark, almost black. I could dye the hair myself dark color easily at home. The price for this was 200 dollars. -- Mindy argued that she had to dye my hair dark color to cover grey hair. My regular hair dresser at Aveda was able to turn my hair into beautiful lighter color and cover grey hair beautifully. -- I will have to go to my regular Aveda salon soon to get highlights to correct the color. -- Mindy was very talkative. She got frustrated at me because she said I moved my head a lot so I was trying to relax and not talk a lot to avoid moving my head. I didn't want to upset her. She showed that she was frustrated. However, Mindy kept asking questions unrelated to hair such as "Do you have a boyfriend?" and etc while she was washing my hair. She accidentally spit on my face a few times. She expected me to keep answering her questions even during the time she was washing my hair after she was frustrated that I moved my head, the experience was so uncomfortable for me. When I relaxed and didn't respond to answer her questions quickly, she said loudly so other customers and staff can heat that I must be frustrated with her. It was the weirdest experience I ever had at a hair salon. In 20 years that I have been getting hair color at salon, this is the first time, a hair stylist doesn't let me relax. I overheard she asked a male customer next to me about his romantic relationship and she told him to propose even when he said he wasn't ready. I don't know-- I just felt so uncomfortable with all these unprofessional behaviors. -- Her dog was very cute in the salon but that was about it. I will NEVER go back. Mindy kept blaming me for weird things. For example, after the coloring process was done, I asked her for a solution to help remove the color on my skin, it was not a big deal for me. I saw she used that solution to help remove color on my face but missed some spots. I know the color will come off when I take a shower. But Mindy started blaming me and told me that hair color on my skin was one of the marks I had on my face before hair coloring process. I don't have any abnormal mark on my face prior to this. Mindy also blamed that the towel she put on my back and neck fell off because I moved. (The towel was very dirty from the beginning. I am not even sure if it had been used with others before me.) I had to use a restroom to urinate since she left the hair color on me longer that it was supposed to be because she accepted other male customers who walked in for hair cut and perm. -- Mindy then deflected and started blaming me for scheduling an appointment with her, she said that she was kind enough to let me schedule an appointment on the same day. Then she had to take other walk-in customers and kept the color chemical compound on my hair longer than it was supposed to be?! It doesn't make sense at all. She was blaming me for supporting her small business. This is why this will be the one and only time I will do business with this salon. When I called her, it seemed like she didn't have any customer so she asked me to come in right away on Tues around noon. Then when other customers showed up, she was trying to get as many customers as possible and left the hair color on me longer than normal. Then she deflected and said she had been doing this for a long time. She knew hair. She said if I experienced hair loss, she would pay 500 dollars. SAD-- I don't want 500 dollars. I just wanted to have my hair color in a normal peaceful way. If you care about cleanliness and want a professional setting in hair salon, this might not be a place that you enjoy. I have been going to salons since I was in my early 20's because I have grey hair since I was young. Now I am almost 40. I never had issue with moving and causing a towel to fall from my neck. It was so weird that the hair stylist blamed customer for a dirty towel.
