Came in to get a wash and style because I was too exhausted to do my hair. I inquired about the price and was rang up for a higher price than what was told to me. On top of that the hair dryer stopped working while she was blow drying my hair. The owner had to assist saying that the two space heaters she had running were causing the circuit to break. After 10 minutes or so of trying to fix the electrical issue the stylist continued to style my hair, and not like the picture I had shown her. She styled my hair straight and I specifically asked for a few loose curls. Not too big of a deal she was nice anyway. What I did not anticipate was charging an extra to do so. When I asked why it was more, the owner was extremely rude saying that she took an hour and a half to do my hair. Honey, you came in after I was already in the chair so how would you know, and my hair is just below my chin so there's no way that would have taken an hour and a half with a professional and the requested style. Even the previous customer before me I witnessed her being extremely rude to. She practically kicked him out when he said he wanted a shampoo. Repeatedly telling him we're closed, it's 5. Will never return here, rude customer service by the owner (not the stylist) and it's slightly concerning that one hair dryer could flip the circuit. After almost 2 years I am done! Every single hair cut I got was wrong. This one took the cake though. Three plus weeks later my hair is so short I still can't even get a curling iron around it. Every single time I tell her what I want and every single time she does what she wants. WAY too short all over other than the back that never gets short enough. Li gave my teenage daughter an amazing layered cut with curtain bangs in the front. My daughter has very long thick hair and it turned out beautifully, just like the pictures. The lady who is the manager and I think the owner is nice. First time there and she understood the kind of haircut that I wanted. It had been about 3-4 months since my last haircut so it was pretty shaggy. The salon needs an update. Needs new outlets, the chairs are small and outdated, and a paint job. On the outside, the sign needs to be updated the color is fading in part of it. There was only one stylist working there and she was the manager. She is nice. Did a decent job on my haircut. The only down thing about the stylist was she made my friend and me to pay because she was cleaning up the cut hair first. Normally when I go to a salon they don't like to keep the customer waiting. Oh also one other thing when we came into the salon I thought she was washing a customers hair but she was washing banana leafs for something she sells in the salon. read more

Great barber shop. Walked in and they took me immediately without an appointment. Quick haircut, great service, and reasonable price. I've never been in the same barbershop until I came to this place. They are consistent and very talented in what they do. Mrs. Li will get you looking right. I have been going to Great Cuts since I moved to the Pacific Northwest 16 years ago. I love this place so much and the owner, Li is the best ever. I can honestly say that I have never gotten a bad haircut here. I moved from Renton about 5 years ago to Tacoma but never fail to make the long trip to Renton to get my hair cut. I will not let anyone else touch my hair. Not only do I get a fantastic haircut, I am not paying a fortune to get a very good cut. I have gone to lots of high priced hairdressers and must say, I get just as good of a cut from Li at Great Cuts. It was difficult to find someone opened on a sunday,Specially with covid closures. Thuy did an amazing job at fixing my bangs that i ruined during the quarantine! She explained to me where i went wrong, where i need to let them grow out in order for them to look better. She trimmed my hair and showed me up to where she would be cutting in order to get rid of the damaged hair (i bleach my hair). She also alternates chairs so that you dont sit on the same chair as the last person. I was really satisfied with Thuy, the place and she has cute masks that are thick and feel comfy on your face. Look no further, your quest to find The Unicorn of hair stylists is over.  She is Le of Great Cuts Salon (not to be confused with great clips!!) located in the Sunset shopping plaza 3186 NE Sunset Blvd (next to Saars Grocery) and she is extraordinary.   I found her in the most fortunate stroke of serendipity.  I had cut my own hair (badly) and came to the shop looking for a rescue.  What I got was arguably one of the greatest haircuts of my life!  I say one of the greatest, (I have never gone elsewhere since, nor will I) because each haircut she has given me is the greatest until the next one is.  Le is an artist, attentive, consistent, knowledgeable, talented and a true master of her craft.  Open daily, ample parking and very clean and conveniently located. When I do a  walk- in, there's usually one in her chair, one that's next, and maybe another and then me. Make no mistake about it, I would happily stand in a Black Friday Sale kinda line anytime for the level of service she provides, but I don't recall ever having to wait over 1/2 hr on a walk in. When you're in her chair, there'll be a couple of customers behind you then too. Yet always, you get her undivided attention, and never ever rushed. She takes great care to ensure she interpreted the wishes you convey as you intended.  Honestly, I wouldn't hesitate to say..."surprise me whatever you think would look good".  She is just that talented !    I've seen a variety of her clients. I had a totally bad experience with Lee at the Great Cuts Salon in the Renton Highlands. Her vibe was hostile, argumentative and most unpleasant. I have been a customer at this salon for at least 10 years and always tip well. Most of the time Kim has cut my hair but the salon had to let Kim go due to Covid so Lee has cut my hair for the last few months. After my negative experience with Lee on 2/4/22 I will never patronize this salon again. I seldom leave poor reviews for any business but Lee was so rude that I feel compelled to leave these remarks. read more

I've been getting haircuts here for 2 or 3 years now, maybe longer. Two young women, very nice, and fast! Prices are reasonable. Close to Saar's for food shopping, El Taco Maestro for lunch, and Goodwill for bargain-hunting.
