It was so refreshing to meet and work with Kim. I scheduled a cut and full balayage for a Saturday morning. Finally, someone that works with my schedule. I haven't had my hair done in literally a year because of scheduling issues. I'm so glad she works weekends! Also, the website she uses for booking appointments is very easy to navigate and her confirmation/reminders are so helpful. Kim was very personable and genuine. I hate to be negative but I wouldn't go back. My balayage looked horrible (more like a highlight than anything). She's really nice as a person, but I didn't like the fact that she took personal calls and texted while she was working on me. I would understand if it was during down time but she would have a foil in, phone would ring, and she would stop in the middle of the foil just to take a call. This happened at least 5x. I went to someone else to fix my hair afterwards. I didn't even bother to have her correct it. read more

Kim is AMAZING! I came to her at first a long time ago with black box color, and she was honest and realistic with me, and took the time to lighten my hair correctly over several sessions (but still surprising quickly for how dark it was at first!) and still keep it feeling and looking so shiny and healthy, with minimal breakage! She explained the steps and what it would take to lighten it over time without overly compromising the integrity of my hair, and always lets me know when she's having any specials of promotions. I'm not the kind of girl that usually gets their hair done because I never know what to get nor do I get the outcome I want when I do. So when I first went to K.Sam I know I wanted to go lighter. Which is something I've never done, hesitant at first, I asked her what she would recommend. Reading reviews and seeing some pretty solid outcomes, I was confident she would make me look good. For many years, I have attempted going blonde by many hairdressers and decided it's not for me. Then one of my co-workers recommended Kim. I will never go to anyone else ever again. She made me the perfect platinum blonde first try!!! I have been going to her for 3 years now. Just a few weeks before my wedding, my husband's grandmother past away and a lot of our plans changed so I was freaking out that my hair would not be done for my wedding. I chose Kim to cut my hair since moving from Florida (so it's been a while since my last hair cut!). I was super nervous about having someone new cut my hair. But I was worried for nothing because she did a great job. She was able to figure out what I wanted after showing her pictures from Pinterest. She was very thorough in explaining what she was going to do and even helped me in deciding how short to go (almost 7 inches shorter!) After the washing, cutting, drying, and curling: I HAD THE GREAT REVEAL. I was definitely very impressed but I felt that I wanted to get some more layers in the back. Kimmy is literally a magician with hair, I highly recommend going to her for any coloring style, she's done beautiful blonde balayage and blue on me and every time I leave her chair I fall in love with my hair every time! Kim is so amazing at what she does! She is the 3rd person I've been to within the last few months after a hair stylist had messed up my platinum journey by putting a dark base over my roots (I had opt for a balayage because I was told it wouldn't have been possible to be an all over blonde in one go). It has been so hard trying to fight the ugly orange band that was smack dab in the middle of my head but Kim was able to make it work. She will always get straight to the point and make sure you understand the reality of whatever services you seek. I highly recommend everyone to come get their hair done by her. Kim understood exactly what I wanted and explained what the results would turn out to be. There are many stylists who says yes we can do this or that but they don't explain what tones will the chemicals would actually pick out. Kim was very thorough and did exactly what I asked. It's tough finding a good salon in a new area. I took a chance and booked a haircut based on the stellar reviews. My appointment was pushed back 30mins at the last minute, which I was fine with. The salon itself is a one woman show. When I walked in she had two other clients she was working on. While I commend her for doing her best to move from station to station, I think it really took away from the quality of service. I already had shoulder length hair and asked for her to reshape it to a bob. After the first reveal, I found that it was not the shape I wanted and asked for her to cut more. Although she was technically giving me what I wanted, she didn't make any recommendations or shape the bob to suit my face shape, which is what I'm used to. From the pictures posted, I'm sure she's great if you want a change in hair color, but I wouldn't recommend coming here for haircuts. read more

I had my balayage hair done few months back and I believe we've scheduled another sesh this coming June and I caaaaaaan't wait (as you can see on my roots, it needs retouch)! Was originally really excited about going here. The picture I showed Kim of how I wanted my hair, was not how my hair turned out at all! Waited a few days to see if my hair lightened some, the blonde I had in my hair actually turned a gray color. Ended up getting my hair fixed elsewhere. I went in to this salon last minute and it's a cute place but the stylist wasn't very friendly or talkative at all. She was very informative about why my extensions were hurting when they were being removed which was helpful but the hair wash after the removal was very rushed. I get blow outs every week and never once has my scalp ever been burned during the hair dry session and even after I let her know she didn't change the heat until I asked. The initial blow out was very messy and I had to go to another salon after to fix it after. It costs 75.00 for an extension removal and a less than mediocre blow out. I won't give this place a 1 Star because there probably is potential and maybe she will learn to do a better job next time for someone else. read more

After getting sick last year I hadn't gotten my hair cut in over a year and went in worried and just wanting a change. The bottom of my hair was crazy thin and the top was growing in thicker - basically just craziness. Kim was incredible, helpful, understanding and really helpful. She talked to me about my hair, stayed with me and re-did the things that were bothering me until it was just right. I was new to extensions, new to the area as well, and had been trying to find someone with the right personality, experience and expertise. Needless to say I was so overwhelmed! I also should mention that this was kind of a last minute deal as I needed to fly home for a wedding within 2 weeks and wanted it done for that. Anyway, after talking with several salons I stumbled across K.Sam's info late on a Friday night. Kim replied to me within minutes and met me early Saturday morning for a consultation. Next I was served their special Harmony tea and seated at a little table with some assorted chocolates to help myself to. Karen came out to take me back for my treatment, with a restroom stop on the way. Once inside the headspa treatment room, I was taken to our space and shown a cute box to place my items including a jewelry box for my watch. I was left to dress down a bit into a top covering towel wrap and then set up on the table for my treatment, tucked in with a knee rest and soft cozy blankets. The massage was amazing (I did the $90 treatment which does not have the facial). My neck, shoulders, arms, face, head and scalp were all deeply and expertly massaged and it was so relaxing! The hair washing and conditioner treatments were great with good rinse, though the water was colder at times (perhaps because the products warranted different temps for them to do what they do) and I did get a little shampoo on my cheek. I would have loved a lavender scented eye covering for protection from water splashing. After the wash portion, I was wrapped up in a towel, I got dressed and then my hair was blow dried in the salon with some finishing spray. I would say some minor fine tunes for this place would be: to improve the toilet situation- when I sat down it creaked and groaned and I'm a pretty light bird! Perhaps the landlord or shop owner can address this in time, as it was a little disconcerting to feel like the toilet was not secure. The curtains between tables in the headspa area are a bit see through so perhaps doubling up the fabric in the areas where bodies are changing (2-4 feet from the floor). The top of the room also opens to the main salon so I could hear people talking during my treatment and I prefer quiet; perhaps a way to block the noise towards the ceiling where the wall is incomplete would be an option to consider. All in all though, I plan to go back here for more treatments including the headspa offerings!

The Salon location used to actually be a block down the street and it was large and roomy, I believe a bar now took over the location so now this place is near Chop House Hair Salon and Red Apple. This location is currently closed to COVID, but their Renton location is suppppper nice and BOOMING! I actually love it at the Renton location because it is much closer to home for me and super convenient. I always see Teresa for my hair needs. Like I said previously, I have been seeing her at the Beacon Hill / Seattle location since I was little. She styled my hair for all my middle and high school dances. Gave me my first haircut, perm, highlights, Balayage and the list goes on. Typically, I always need to refresh my balayage and come in for a split end trim. I always get my hair layered bc its super thick and heavy. Teresa always knows exactly what to do. If I'm going for something different than my usual, I bring in pictures and that is all she needs! They got snacks, free coffee, tea and other beverages. They got a great selection Oribe & other hair care Products! Love love love it here! This woman has been doing my lashes for a while and they are the fluffiest, most long lasting sets I've gotten. Trust me when I tell you, this retention is ! She's very accommodating as I started to get allergic reactions to the glue she was using, she had other glue types which were hypoallergenic or just better for sensitive peepz. Not only does she do lashes but she also does hair! I've attached some photos of her work on my hair! Pricing is competitive but also depends on the service you are getting. I have so much hair and she got through it without a problem... the fluffy volume lash fills are also at a fair price! The salon is completely new so you will feel completely comfortable and refreshing during your appointment. Not sure if this will change but during my appointments, the salon did not have a receptionist so you contact your artist once you have arrived for your appointment and they will bring you back to their station(s).
