Q Daddy's never disappoints. Had a surprise visit to Smithfield this weekend and happily stopped in to Q Daddy's for lunch. The food was served hot and tasty as always. Although only having the chicken tenders and fried pickles, it hit the spot. I also have to add that the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. We had both and both were first-rate. I'm taking back one star because the prices are a little high for ala-carte BBQ; for what they charge I'm accustomed to getting a platter with a protein choice and a side dish or two. I'm not sure if my expectations were really high because of the reviews or if I don't like barbecue? I really thought that I liked barbecue but I don't like pot roast and the meat reminded me of pot roast. The fries and pimento cheese with pork rinds were good with the sweet tea. The meal for my son and I was about $40 which I'm not complaining about since it's what I thought I'd spend. Its easier to splurge on two verses my family of four. I was at the right place at the right time to try this bbq! Do you know they cater? Recently tried a delicious plate at a wedding and it was my first experience with them and I cant wait to check out other meal options. On my plate I had baked beans, coleslaw, chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, broccoli and a dinner roll. All the items less the dinner roll were packed with flavor. I'm not sure if the baked beans or broccoli were my favorite. The service was great. Food was served hot and appetizing. Presentation was on point. I can't rate their food since we never got it was but poor customer service. My son was on crutches so he got a seat while I waited in line 10 minutes to order. Then I found out our sausage would be 25 minutes. With a long line behind him I called him over and asked if he wanted to wait, a lady immediately took our table and there were no others available. We ordered the Pulled Pork. My friend got it without the bun and I ordered it as a sandwich. If you like Sweet BBQ,, it really good. They don't skimp on portion size either. The bun is toasted with butter, soft not tough. I would've given it 5 stars but my heart was a little disappointed because they only serve ribs after 5p during the week. :( . This place is uh-mazing! Everything was delicious, and portions are very generous. We tried the pulled pork and the brisket sandwiches, the Mac and cheese and the baked beans, and the hush puppies. Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was about 12:15 and the parking lot was almost full. When you go in it is all À la carte and ready immediately. That one piece was good and had a nice smokey flavor. The pulled pork was nice and juicy and goes good in any of their sauces. The chicken tenders were hot, moist and paired well the the mustard sauce. Hush puppies were ok, I couldn't taste the bacon or cheddar. Overall good place to stop if you're craving bbq. A young man behind the counter asked if my sister & I have ever to the restaurant. I guess we looked perplexed as we stood to the side & studied the overhead menu. When we replied it was our 1st visit he came out with a small cup containing pulled pork & brisket. He explained how each was cooked & suggested we sample them. Both were delicious! My sis & her husband had the pulled pork sandwiches with fries. My husband & I the beef brisket sandwiches. The sandwiches were piled high with juicy, flavorful meat on a soft butter top roll. The fries appeared to be fresh made from potato with skins & were awesome! The coleslaw was homemade tasting without all that runny mayo that ruins it. As we were eating a gentleman, who possibly was the manager, stopped by our table to check that everything was good. The restaurant, including the restroom, was very clean.
