The chicken tenders are unlike any I've ever had--perfectly breaded with a texture and taste that really stand out. Pair them with the awesome sauce, and it's perfection. Every side dish is a hit, but the broccoli salad is my personal favorite. My kids can't get enough of the fries and mac and cheese! Came here for dinner on a sat evening. There's plenty of seating both in and outside, plus there were plenty of folks there so I figured it was going to be good. The wait staff were super nice and accommodating so that was nice. Ordered a 10pc chicken tenders with macaroni and cheese, a brisket sando with a side of baked beans and broccoli bacon salad. The tenders was ordered as a meal, but for some reason a drink is not included in the meal. The brisket sando was okay, a little dry so I had to hit it with the spicy sweet bbq sauce (which was just sweet, no spice at all). I ordered the brisket sando based on the dude in front of me who got the pulled pork sando, and when I watched the server put a huge scoop of pulled pork on the bread I just knew it was going to be the same for me...but it wasnt. I got 3 strips of brisket. The baked beans were good, almost a little too sweet. The broccoli bacon salad was a cold dish, and was tossed in a overly sweet white sauce. Think coleslaw but instead of shredded lettuce, broccoli. I wasn't a fan. The macaroni and cheese was more like a boxed product. Cole slaw was very rustic, with little to no dressing. Macaroni and cheese was industrial, and flavor less. The best thing was the broccoli salad! Molasses cookies were a disappointment, they are not the same as on opening day years ago. I came into the restaurant and preordered the meal, since we were having company. However, my recent visit with the ribs this time was a bit of a letdown. Normally, the racks here are perfectly cooked, with the meat sliding right off the bone with ease. This time, though, I had to really work at it--using a knife to saw through the meat, and even then, it was tougher than it should have been. It was disappointing, especially considering how consistently good they've been in the past. The service can be hit or miss, which seems to stem from frequent staff turnover. Some visits, the experience is seamless and friendly, while other times, it feels a little disorganized or inconsistent. It's not necessarily a dealbreaker, but it's something to keep in mind. Everytime we head over the bridge to Smithfield, Daddy's pit master has been on my places to go for BBQ. The parking lot was packed which is a good sign. Upon entry, there was a line forming almost to the middle section of the restaurant. I noticed a few tables and booths that were empty, but filled immediately once people had their food in hand. We looked up at the menu above the counter. I ordered the special 5 smoked wings meal which came with two hush puppies, and choice of two sides. I had the smashed potato salad, and Mac and cheese with a drink. The hubs had the 8oz brisket sandwich, and choice of two sides for an extra $6.95 to make it a meal. He opted for the smashed potato salad, and Mac and cheese. We decided on takeout since it was getting packed inside. We also picked up a bag of bbq pork rinds, and banana pudding. So the brisket was probably the most disappointing. It was fatty and not 8oz. The young lady dug the last bits from the tray then yelled for a refill after it was wrapped. We should've checked the takeaway containers before leaving to ensure everything ordered was correct. The meal was charged $6.95 extra for a wrong side. French fries instead of smashed potato salad for his meal. They were stale and reheated, basically leftovers from a day or two. He took a bite of the brisket sandwich, and didn't want to eat the rest as the fat was overwhelming. The potato salad in my meal was extremely sweet, and with macaroni that was slightly hard. The smoked wings were good. I did enjoy the bbq pork rinds as they were fresh and delicious. The meal was about $70 with tax and tip for takeaway. This was my experience as everyone has their own. Back again this time to try out their restaurant week special! All the food was still very tasty! Had pulled pork sandwich and chicken tenders. Both were still so tasty! I love that the meat is smoked so well it does not need sauce. The chicken tenders are nice and crunchy and also don't need sauce because it's just flavorful! I didn't like the pulled pork. The seasoning was frankly gross. It was spicy and like nothing I've ever tasted before but not in a good way. The brisket was alright. It tasted like cheap cuts of meat. There was so much fat! We didn't get any burnt ends and I wound up giving my serving to the dog because of the massive amount of inedible fat. Everything was cold. Service was excruciatingly slow and chaotic. They didn't give us our sauces. You'd think after spending nearly $150 that they'd at least give us our sauces. I LOVE Q Daddy's (formerly known as Q Diddy'S- JKJK!). It's a trek from my house, but it's only 15(ish) minutes from a friend's house. Their BBQ is literally my favorite ever. Their broccoli salad is unbeatable (it is SO SO SO SO good). Their sweet tea is good (obviously). They now have cucumber salad that is so freshly done, it makes your mouth water as you eat it- AND the cucumber slices are wavy sliced like pickle chips. Their buns are toasted and buttered with this special rolling butter machine (although I don't eat much bread these days, so today I didn't get to experience that deliciousness). Absolutely some of the best bbq on the South Side. We have never had a bad experience here. Hospitality and good vibes are a given every time. Just good people here. The bbq is excellent but so are the other choices. Especially the chicken tenders. They have sauce options as well! Big plus! Some bbq places do not. Finally they do amazing mac cheese and all of their sides are very good. Lots of options too. The banana pudding is unique and really good. HOLY SMOKES! Is this Smithfield's best kept secret!? Or the 757s answer to the holy bbq grail? We arrived to a busy car park, and an even busier restaurant. A warm "welcome to Q Daddy's!" echoed the room as we came through the front door. Jesse welcomed us from behind the counter, beckoning us forward, telling us not to be shy. "I LOVE NEW PEOPLE, WELCOME!!!" He gave us the full run down; introduced us to the family behind the counter, enthusiastically gave us a brief intro to what were favorites among patrons, and got us started with our trays. It's a stand in line, pick your order, pay up, then sit down cafeteria style restaurant. I picked the $20 restaurant week dinner special. For appetizer, I chose the pimento cheese, pork rinds and pickled onion (but I ate the besties fried dill pickles with buttermilk sauce too - UHMAZING!) The cheese dip was subtle and not too creamy and complimented the pork rinds perfectly. For entree, the Pitmaster Platter was served: pulled pork, beef brisket, and 3 rib bones plus a choice of 2 sides. I got the mango slaw (which did not disappoint, the mango did not overpower the slaw, it just enhanced the flavor without making it too sweet) and Mac & Cheese. I'm a big bbq fan, for my wedding we hired the Las Vegas Pitmaster for our catering. So I was beyond impressed at the quality that came out of this fast paced cafeteria style serving station. The brisket was tender, and the ribs were absolutely amazing. For dessert, the mini apple crisp - which is my ultimate dessert fave. A fountain drink was also included in the restaurant week special, I chose the sweet tea which tasted great! Check in and get a free cookie - which is the BOMB! Don't pass that up. Seriously. Jesse did the rounds of the room to make sure everyone was doing ok, making friendly conversation, seeing if there was anything else we needed. I don't know where to begin with my happiness level with this place! I guess I could begin with the fact it was my fIrst time coming here during a busy dinner timeframe and I still didn't feel there was any issue or problem at all with the staff getting our food brought to us promptly....much to the children's delight! I came with two of my higher energy kids last night, and not only was this place super easy to navigate with kids in, it was also super child friendly as well! When my kids wanted to order a big ol' batch of chicken strips, I honestly didn't have high hopes for anything special...I mean this IS a barbecue place right?! But I was wrong...dead wrong! Yeah, its got it goin on in the barbecue department with a whole slather of incredible options, but it also has THE best chicken strips I have EVER eaten (ever)...you better never tell my momma that I said that though or she would kill me for uttering such words when she knows plain as the nose on her face that HERS is the best! And while hers is quite amazing...this place just made me want to eat every chicken battered crumb that fell of the chicken strip....now that's when something is truly "finger lickin good!". The fresh cut fries were really good as well, and the kid's dubbed the Mac and Cheese "buttery noodles" so I guess they enjoyed the butter in it?! Lol! Looking for a new bbq option in the 757? Then head over to QDaddy in Smithfield for some solid eats. Owner Jesse Witten is the Pitmaster and runs the show albeit behind the scenes most days. Located on the main road into town. Signage is excellent and they are right off the road. Parking seems plentiful, but potential issues when packed. The lot and walks tidy. The dining room was bright, clean and presented nicely with high quality local wall hangings. A combination of tables, chairs and booths utilizing a light wood finish was attractive. The staff was very helpful and patient during the ordering process. My order, a Brisket Boat side of fries. Dessert banana pudding. A molasses cookie to go. All items are served À la cart. The brisket meat was tender, but lacked a fatty flavor known to the cut. Enjoyed the in-house Memphis style bbq sauce which the brisket needed. The fries were crisp and tasty.
