I came across this restaurant while traveling. I got the 8oz brisket sandwich ($14) with pimento chess. The brisket was very tender and had a good fat to leanness to it. It was seasoned fairly well. The pimento cheese was a great addition giving a good contrast in beefy flavor with saltiness from the cheese. It did feel heavy afterwards, but was still a good lunch meal. Staff were friendly and there was a good amount of parking. Bathrooms are located outside and behind the building. Overall it was a solid experience and a good stop for lunch if in the area. Stopped at Daddy's on my little road trip from NJ. In Yelpers I trust! We got a sampler platter and 10 wings. Wings were good. I liked the sauce cooked on them. Wasnt blown away but definitely good! The brisket looked overcooked and dry but was actually moist and pretty good. Wife loved the tenders. Looked dry as well but were moist and tender. Pulled pork was good. Liked the cheesy potatoes but fir some reason there was corn flakes in it which was just weird. Haha. Mac and cheese was thick and good. The cheese and bacon hush puppies didnt seem to be made with corn meal but were OK. Overall it was good. Wings were pricey at 10 pieces(not whole wings) for $16. Stopped by while driving back from Chesapeake one Saturday evening after we had seen the smoker running on our way down that morning. Being late in the day, they were out of brisket, but they had deli-style trays out with a few options for us to choose from. We opted for the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, cheese potatoes topped with cornflakes, and hush puppies. The hush puppies were the crispiest hush puppies I have ever had on the outside, but still fluffy on the inside. They were amazing. The pulled pork was okay, not bad but also nothing to write home about. The baked beans were good - very sweet - but occasionally you would find a bite of the best smoked meat. It melted in your mouth. The cheesy potatoes were a bit of a miss for me... The cheese and potatoes were good, but the buttered cornflakes they added on top completely missed the mark. They don't add texture because it has been sitting on top of a casserole all day, they don't add flavor... instead, you just end up with this gummy, soggy topping on what would have been pretty good potatoes. The fountain Mr Pibb was also at the end of its life span, so we dumped it out and tried a different drink. Sort of wished I had just opted for water, or a $6 milkshake instead but... $6 milkshake... I was a little disappointed that when the friendly and helpful guy taking our order handed me the number to take to our table, it was covered in dripping butter, which then stained my clothes when I failed to notice it before accepting it from him. We didn't have to use the restroom while we were here, but unless I missed something, it appears that the bathrooms are outside in a different building, which is just creepy and inconvenient in my opinion. Definitely not somewhere that I can take my kiddos while traveling since the bathroom isn't even in the same building. Other moms of multiple kids know what I'm talking about... Definitely no way to post up to keep an eye on the kid at the table and an ear on the kid in the bathroom... the food was okay, but not enough to draw me back in favor of some of the other places near here. read more

We tried the hoppin John as a side and if you're a fan of black eyed peas, YOU WOULD LOVE THIS. I'm not a fan of them but the dish wasn't bad. The meat was so tender. Chicken salad - very good. A wonderful BBQ stop on the road while traveling, the interior is very welcoming, and the service was warm. We first walk in and were greeted by an older gentlemen who asked if it was our first time and let us know we could sample anything on the menu. She commented several times about how much meat was on her sandwich. She didn't finish hers as it was so large. They had a variety of sauces on the table, but we didn't use any as the meat was already well seasoned to begin with. Prices were on the higher side but typical of a barbecue place. The restaurant was clean and looked like it was part of a chain (fancy cards on the table advertising specials, graphics on the walls, etc.). I looked it up. The collards and beans were good... a bit on the sweet side, but I ate some of them. Now these hushpuppies, very different and my palate wasn't pleased. The hushpuppies have cheese and bacon bits... just different, not a fan! I ate a portion of my meal and opted to take it home, thinking I would eat the rest later. I reheated my meal about 8pm and dived in... I must say my food was much better the second time around! The staff present were eager to serve us and the older man onsite was bubbly in welcoming us and telling us a little about the restaurant and what they offer. Will we return ... maybe - maybe not. But you give it a try. I know I am a hard critic and we enjoy food, so when others rate something five stars, I must try to see for myself. Even though I rated them a four... you be the judge. They were not very good and we were disappointed and it made our holiday meal less than a good experience. I believe these were left over from a few days back and not fresh. The restaurant is designed more like a fast food style service model. The staff is very polite and helpful. There is one associate assigned to the dinning room who is extremely polite, helpful and friendly. The prices are what you would expect at a BBQ restaurant. The variety menu is very nice. The food arrived hot and fresh. I would have to say the flavor of all the dishes we tried were average. We had the BBQ sandwich, chicken tenders, beans, fries, slaw, and hush puppies. The hush puppies were really good. The deserts were average. The restaurant was extremely busy but they were efficient. Seating became tight with all the business. We serendipitously stumbled across this amazing BBQ restaurant during their Ribsgiving event. I had only planned on getting a pulled pork bbq sandwich but the business owner was quite the salesman and persuaded me that it would be a mistake not to try the ribs on this special occasion. Gosh am I glad I took him up on the suggestion as the ribs were cooked to perfection and full of smokey & spicy flavors. Wow what a treat! We shared the pitmaster sampler, two sides, a sweet tea and the banana snap pudding milkshake. We haven't had hush puppies the way Q daddy's before and they were made to PERFECTION! Hubby loved the tenders and I loved the brisket. Everything was done so well and had such great taste. Now I do want to address their outdoor Bathhouse. It is surprisingly nice - probably nicer than most residential bathrooms in America. It has an AC unit in it and a baby changing table. It honestly was very nice. The hush puppies were great. The beef brisket was very dry, they have it floating in some sort of au jus. It shouldn't be pre sliced. I ordered a brisket sandwich, which was one 3/4" slice and a big hunk that was mostly fat, on a nicely toasted buttered bun. It couldn't be eaten as a sandwich unless it was sliced much thinner. Mac and cheese tasted institutional. Col slaw was good though. They feature a "southern style" which was breaded deep-fried brisket. The concept is great, but execution failed. It was fried to death, and might be good if it was beer-battered instead. The pulled pork was passable. There's a much better BBQ joint further south, Currituck BBQ. Go there instead. The owner is very nice, I hope he can up his game, he obviously loves what he does. read more

The menu is simple and straight forward and the food was delicious! The restaurant is also really good looking on its own, they did a great job with renovating it. We had a brisket sandwich and a combo platter with an array of sides. Cucumber salad, mac n cheese, fries, and potato salad. Everything was so good, fresh, and just beyond delicious. High quality food and service! We also had hush puppies with the meal and they were probably the best I've ever had. Ever.
