Translation.... I wish I could tell you how the food tasted but I waited so long that I decided I would do better going to McDonald's... & being raised by a Honduran man I was so excited to try this place... the lady at the front has a nasty ass attitude doesn't even greet you properly just tell you can I take your order... I ordered a simple plate fried plantain with fried chicken that comes with a cold salad in between the 2 should have taken 15 maybe 20 min.... I WAITED 50 min for nothing but a refund. And the lady that gave me a refund was even more rude I was telling her what happened and she cut me off and was like I'm going to just give you your money.. so rude!! If I could rate them nothing I would!!!

I love finding authentic Latin American places that have a familiar warm environment. La Boquita is…read moreno different. Its a whole in the wall in a neighborhood thats not the best but unfortunately a lot of good places are. I've been here twice, once for a late breakfast and once for lunch with a buddy of mine. This place centers around mostly South American foods (El Salvador + Honduras) and is a local hotspot for the Hispanic locals around breakfast time. The outside is ugly and parking can be limited but just park at another vacant establishments parking lot. Once inside theres a couple of rinky dink tables and overall the layout reminds me of a butcher shop my grandparents frequent in Puerto Rico...but don't worry its clean and you won't find blood splatter anywhere. The food is cheap cheap cheap! And the portions are large. I usually go for an order of baleadas, which is mostly a typical Honduran wheat flour tortilla folded and stuffed with mashed beans, eggs, Mexican style cream and avacados. One is usually enough but somehow I managed to fit two ;) They also put pork instead or chicken but I opt out on that options. This goes great with coffee too! I try replicating this simple dish at home and fail horribly. They also make bandeja paisa which is usually associated as a Columbian breakfast meal but its quite typical in many countires in Central America. This dish is definitely heafty offering a fried egg, a strip(s) of chicarones ( a seasoned pork rinds that has a chewier texture), refried beans, arepas (corn tortillas) plaintains ( usually sweet) rice and avacados. My friend who is a Honduran native usually opts for this as he eats meat. He says it reminds him of home and that this is his favorite local joint for it. This place is a small family owned business and has been here for quite a while. They know thier regulars and are nice people. They aren't too chatty almost shy but that doesn't stop them from inviting you to eat some good food at thier place. Overall, I'd be a regualr if I didn't live 30+ miles away but when I'm in the mood for a full belly and food that is reminescent of my culutral roots I go here. So please people come here and give it a shot :)

The menu covered Mexican, Guatemalan, Honduran, and El Savadoranian so I ordered a little from everywhere, and while I waited was given complimentary chips (kept in a toaster) and salsa. Service was friendly and fast. The surprise hit was the pastellitos. I had never had Guatemalan before and while many of the ingredients were familiar, it was put together in a fun and very tasty way. The pupusas were legit, and everything was fresh down to the house made flour tortilla (make sure to request 'hecho de mano'). Only miss was that the whole fried fish was a touch dry. I will definitely hit this place up again. I think it's major selling point is that it can make foods from a variety of Central American countries very well. Make this your one stop shop for authentic Latin American cuisine.

Meaning they came straight to eat after work, that was a good sign. As soon as we walked in, strong local-Latina customer presence, which is also an even better sign. I take the same note when I eat at Pho or oriental restaurants. If I see Asians present and eating at a predominantly Asian cuisine location, it's a very good sign. Anyways, I Wish we had photos to share but no time was wasted on that, we loved our food, this is our new spot. My husband & I both had the Lengua tacos, rice on the side, & my nephew had the carne asada tacos & raved about them. We wish we could try more items based on our positive experience with what we ordered. Next time! Can't wait! Also, we're from Arizona, sooo we think we kinda know good Mexican cuisine.

We also tried the peach and mango margaritas, which were refreshing and had a great fruity flavor. The chips and salad came with their white sauce dip, which was really good. We also ordered the birria empanadas with the consommé, and they were packed with flavor! Love the elote!! The waiters were very friendly and attentive. The ambiance was nice and welcoming, although it does usually get busy because it's a popular spot. Overall, a great place for affordable tacos, good drinks, and a fun atmosphere.

English I've been going to La Hacienda across Hampton Roads…read morefor years. Their food is consistently fantastic and absolutely worth the wait. However, today, the Chesapeake panadería and restaurant off Military Highway missed the mark; and this isn't the first time. A pickup of pan dulce and a mangonada took 32 minutes after I paid and sat down. They were understandably out of café de olla, it's that good! These pickups usually take me five to seven minutes, even when packed. The young clerk seemed lost. I handed him $21 for a $15.73 total. He stared, checked the register, and handed me $5 and a quarter without a word. Yes, only two cents short. It's not the amount, it's the lack of communication. If there's a reason you're not giving exact change, speak up! Previously, a clerk answered a menu question with "I don't know." I had to prompt him to ask someone else. On another visit, my drink was forgotten. Today, the waitress made about three specialty drinks and poured six to eight fountain drinks before he even started my mangonada. Customers arriving around the same time and after me received drinks and food first. Between ringing people up, he paced and watched others work while I waited for one drink. Then it came out loaded with half-blended frozen mango chunks. C'mon man, 32 minutes, and it still wasn't properly blended? The kitchen and waitstaff were hustling. Heck, the owner was bussing tables, delivering table orders, and seating customers himself. The counter was another story. If you have downtime, check on the customer still waiting instead of watching everyone else work. I love the food and want this location to thrive, but the counter needs serious training and better supervision. The food keeps me coming back, but these recurring service issues shouldn't come with it. ¡Vamos, hombre!
