So good!!! Quick lunch with my daughter. She's GF, so this was prefect! Guacamole was delicious!

Not bad if this was the only Mexican place in the area and it sure felt like it. We were are on vacation driving down to Cape Charles, Va and needed to stop for lunch and saw this little place on the side of the road. So many places along the road were closed and/or run down. This is what you have in a small coastal town near the Chesapeake Bay. We entered and there was a long counter for take out so I thought oops, let's try another place. Luckily I scanned a little further and saw tables and chairs. We were seated right away and given a menu with close to six pages. We ordered from the lunch option. I noticed the prices were on the cheap side. I ordered the beef quesadilla (#18). Food came relatively quickly and I noticed that my quesadilla was a slightly smaller portion than I am normally used to back in the DC area. It's usually two tortillas with meat and cheese in between. Here, one tortilla. Almost every other Mexican place will also serve a small side salad. Not here, just beans and rice. No problem with beans and rice, I love beans and rice, but my dish was lacking any green vegetables! Not even a little guacamole! Food was fine. Decor was cheapy with plastic chilis strung across the ceiling. Not fancy by any means. Tables and chairs didn't match. Low ceilings and 70's wood paneling. But in a small town where options are few, not bad.

Fried Carnitas Dinner Plate. Lots of fat, decent flavor.

It would have been a great lunch had service not totally sucked. I could not understand the lady and she definitely messed up my order. On top of that, she seemed stressed at the two or three tables she was servicing. Carnitas dinner for a lunch meal wasn't bad, actually it was decent. But, I did not order it, it came out with two tortillas, no cheese, no sour cream. Kind of a bummer, whatever, we were passing thru, no chance I will ever be back.

    Carnitas (a little over cooked)

Standard Mexican fare on route 13. Nice staff, reasonable prices, good portions, and tasty salsa!

Chili relleno with refried beans. Lunch special #4.

It is really good Mexican food very flavourful I especially enjoyed the cheese that was used for the chilli relleno and on top of the refried beans I think the lunch special prices are pretty good I definitely think it's worth a try.

At first glance my husband just wanted to keep on driving. Myself I am always open for an adventure and have found some of the best Mexican food in other hole in the wall places like this. There is no indoor seating, there is a small outdoor eating area or takeout only. You wouldn't know they served food from driving by or upon entering the facility. Inside is a store where they sell many Mexican foods, beverages and produce. The inside was not very clean and a bit run down, the outside eating area was littered with cigarette butts and soda cap lids, no trash receptacle other than a thin garbage bag tied to a post that was over flowing. On a good note, the cashier was very pleasant. Our food came out timely , I was disappointed with the food, very bland, the rice was chopped up and my carnitas dry. My husband only ate 1/2 of his Burrito. Wish the food was better and the place was cleaner as we travel down that way often....

At the counter, you can order food (which is what I came for)! They make it fresh to order. I had an al pastor taco and a tamale. Along with a bottle of water, my total was around $3.75. Can't beat it! Everything tasted great; I ate in my car before continuing on my way. I used to live in LA and was used to super authentic Mexican food. Hard to find in the Hampton Roads/Eastern Shore area. That being said, this was one of the better places that I've tried; tasted like authentic street fare. The taco even had radishes, which was an authentic touch you just don't see around here; made me super happy. Def will stop again if passing through the area.

I took a pic of the "jumbo" scallop entree. The original Basket version is just 4 scallops and fries for $17, that was my original plan. Even though the scallops weren't local, I was encouraged to get the entree version which had 4 more scallops (so 8 total) and an Xtra side, which I chose Mac n' cheese (house made). But this entree version was $31. So for $14 more I got a scoop of Mac and 4 of these pitiful scallops. I'm sorry but that is egregious. That's highway robbery and there's NOTHING added in the entree variant that justifies that kind of price. The basket version, isn't justifiable at $17 given what's here. Not to mention that its not even plated and everything was in a to-go format. There were flies everywhere that kept crawling on me and I was just ready to leave the moment I recieved my food. Softshell crab and the rest of the food is good. But not THAT good. Two basket-type entrees ran us over $70.
