This is the Lil' Q Platter! Totally enough for two people!
Audra M.

We tried Q-BBQ on a whim, and I'm so glad we did. We went with the Lil Q Platter, and for two people, it's the perfect amount. The $24.99 price is a great deal in my opinion. The meat is fantastically flavorful. The ribs were my favorite meat. But let me tell you, the mac n cheese (topped with corn bread) is baller. The slaw was good as well, though there is nothing unique about it. The young men working late-afternoon on 3/2/24 were so upbeat and helpful. I appreciated the service a ton. We took a table for two by the window, and it was lovely to enjoy excellent food while people-watching! Our dinner was on the early end, but by the conclusion of our meal, they became busier. They have a really great hand-washing station. They do serve alcohol that includes several Revolution options in addition to other brands. With the platter and two beers, we spent around $40, and that's a great price considering how much we enjoyed everything.

Pulled Chicken A la Carte and fries

The restaurant has plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating. I had the pulled chicken and fries. The chicken was decent. It was a lot of fries for a small. It comes with hush puppies which are very tasty. The burnt ends are more like a bbq pot roast to me. The staff were very friendly.

Love the convenience of this Marion Street location, right in the center of downtown Oak Park, within walking distance to my favorite book store and around the corner from a great movie theater. I arrived half an hour early to an appointment across the street so I got a sandwich and some work done in the dining area which was super chill. Very clean. Peaceful! Great service, too. Friendly and prompt. I'll come here again, for sure.

This is my 2nd time here, the first was for carryout. We came for the Jazz Thaw festival in Oak Park. A few venues were involved. Food, drinks, live music? Even in 'still-pandemic' times, I'm in! It was packed of course, but seats opened up continuously. We ordered, were given numbers, and sat at a booth. The waitress would bring the food by looking at the table numbers. InsteI got tacos with pulled pork and burnt end brisket, and mac Q Roni and cheese. Both were SO good! The brisket was moist and flavorful, not tough like I was worried it would be. The mac Qroni was good, especially with CORNBREAD crumbs on top! My other party got brussel sprouts, QCumber and tomato salad and pulled chicken it came with hushpuppies (called 'Qpups. Maybe ease up on the 'Q-talk?). What I tasted was pretty good. I got a soft drink that was refillable. I guess I am taking a star off because of the soda dispensers. I know the new, endless combination types are very expensive, but I was NOT comfortable refilling my soda with the same cup (they would not let me get a new one) by pressing the metal tab. For sanitary reasons we should get new cups everytime, or at least get the dispenser that uses buttons instead of tabs. I'd definitely go back but for carryout only.

This crap

For the price the food is some shit. I've been gone for 30 yrs and this is what you new Chicagoans except? How do you not give bread when you order hot links? And the say you get hush puppies with your ribs wait till you se the fn hush puppies, if you can recognize them. I'm just all around pissed the F off. I will never ever go there again. I don't care if they are last BBQ in the State of Ill. Now after tasting this horrible presentation of BBQ. The ribs are tough, the coleslaw is bland, and the little tiny Winnie hush puppies was hard as hell. The only thing that may be worth consuming is the bbq sauce. Do yourself a favor and never go there!

It is not bad. The food is decent and readily available upon an order. The service is great. The atmosphere good too. It wasn't crowded. The sauces are good. It is overall good. Yet not better than some other BBQ spots in Illinois.

They did not give us most of our order and hid behind Doordash so as not to actually give us what we ordered. Way to go.

My brothers…read morealways ordered burgers, my dad loved the pork sandwich, and I was obsessed with the Roast Beef sandwiches. You have to use the barbeque sauce... I mean one hand on your sandwich and one hand on the barbeque squeeze bottle. You need to squirt the sandwich before each bite... If it is not dripping your not using enough. Give it a try at least once. The fried mushrooms and onion rings were also a favorite when growing up. Now that my husband and I are trying to eat better... We get one meal with coleslaw and fries and one coleslaw with corn and we divide them up so we are not eating too many fries. They have fountain drinks and you fill your own cup. There is plenty of seating. Tbere is a covered indoor patio section and picnic tables out on the grass on the other side of the parking lot too. The bathrooms are cramped but at least they have bathrooms. They have video gaming machines, and lots of televisions with closed captions. They play oldies music loud enough that you don't hear the people at the next tables conversation. The dining room is very relaxing and service is fast and friendly. When you approach the ordering counter, you see the menu on the wall. You place your order and receive a number placque. They give you your drink cups as soon as you place your order and pay. I love that you can fill your own cups (free refills on fountain drinks too) They bring your order to the table. Tbere is a lot of paper waste, there should be a better way to serve the food but this has been working out well for them for many many years! If your planning on visiting Brookfield Zoo it is only about 5 miles from here and a great place to get some dinner and relax afterwards. They have kids meals, booster seats and high chairs. #KidFriendly

So, we used to come here all the time with my family when we were younger for big family outings…read more April 1st would have been my grandma's 99th birthday. So to honor her I thought it would be sweet to bring my mom back here for lunch over the weekend. What a huge disappointment it turned out to be. The restaurant itself is fine I suppose, although you could tell the tables do not get wiped down very often. I'm almost scared to think of what I wiped off of the napkin dispenser. Fair warning to anyone who is not very steady when walking their floors are extremely slanted and there's not a whole lot to hold on to. They do have a warning for part of the dining room but only for part of it, and almost the entire place is slanted. The parking lot is very convoluted especially now that they've added a drive through which eliminated the handicap parking near the door. On a Saturday afternoon they had one food runner And two people at the counter. The prices are fine and pretty on point with what you'll find just about anywhere these days. As you'll see in the pictures the food looks fine, but at best is a six out of 10. Nothing had much flavor, you just taste the grill. At least with my burger, that's all I tasted. The macaroni and cheese at best is Kraft Deluxe and even that tastes better. Their in house barbecue sauce which used to be great, is extremely thin and tastes like watered down Sweet Baby Ray's. There were only three of us and we had to go back to the counter to get the rest of our order after it was partially delivered by the less than apathetic food runner. I dropped my fork and went back to get another one, only to discover that the fork section of the silverware was empty, I explained that to one of the also apathetic girls behind the counter, she asked how many I needed I said I only need one but it's empty at the self-serve counter. She just kind of looked at me like that was not her problem. Honestly the best part of the entire experience was that the breaded mushrooms were delightful. We had a very simple order I got a cheeseburger my father got a pork sandwich and my mother got a beef sandwich. They were both given pork sandwiches. I was not given my side of fries, and as I said only part of our order came out originally. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect three entrees to all be served at the same time. I think after today, we will hold on to the memories of a place we used to go. As I always say it is entirely up to you if you choose to go, I hope you have a better experience.

Didn't get very to try the food, the service was as bad as hours posted 11-9p 2 days in a row on…read moretheir fb page but closed when we arrived at 815p( NO SERVICE because it was closed) The ambiance ... uuugh So, I went on their FB which highlighted some tapas and the words ' Tapas - open from 11- 9 and wrote how disappointing that We traveled from up North in Chicago to try & enjoy some tapas which looked good in the picture but to find it closed was our 1st impression and we were ONE & DONE. So we went to patronize another restaurant which was phenomenal ( 5 stars) elsewhere. Someone posing as a customer by the name of ' Mayra ' replied and stated ' back in the day' people would call 1st to find out it it was open.... DUH I replied yep ' back in the day' before social media and cell phones one would call first to find out operating hours but in todays world social media is utilized just for that plus why would one call if its posted on Facebook that they were opened today ( Tuesday March 3rd) from 11-9 I got a reply back- from that person who replied something about accountability. What ???!!?? wait, if i were to be the owner of a business and I'm trying to bring in business, i would monitor said websites / web pages advertising with correct info. ( these 11-9 ) hours were posted 2 days in a row have you. Well all of a sudden I can't seem to find the page on Facebook because it seems that that person named 'Mayra' is most likely an / or the actual owner and instead of apologizing and correcting their error , I was blocked from their page because I cannot find it now. & I started following that page. Oh well Sad , because I would've written a very positive review of what I come to find out a little bit ago in searching their namesake & page that they relocated from Elmwood Park to this location in Oak Park. We patronized them in Elmwood Park in years past and although nothing to write home about 'back in the day' , it follows the same today with how the response was- Poor! Poor mgmnt, poor handling = no patronizing this location in Oak Park. We've had way better and real authentic Cuban food at several locations within Chicago city limits. This place, according to reviews I've read is pricier for the quality of food served and obviously from the actions of the ' so named Mayra' who responded to my reply in their post about we were not happy having come all the way from the city to only find it closed , tells you alot about the business and it's staff / owner--- very poor. No wonder for their very few reviews between time. Pictures look good but the service or whomever manages their web pages speaks volumes of what to expect.
