Calling our contractor to complain about an honest review, after many unanswered calls/texts/emails for the refund, isn't a good look. --- Our contractor sent us here to look at doors. We did look at what they had but when I asked about custom options for things like wood color and lite options, the sales person just told us to look at options on the manufacturer websites. We spec'ed out our door from the manufacturer website of the one we liked from their showroom, ordered it in October. They installed a temporary blank door on our addition so we would have a secure entrance to our home. I think we had it by December, and our painters applied multiple beautiful clear coats to this beautiful cherry door, but when it came time to install it, it was discovered that FMD milled the hinges in the wrong place, even though they had the measurements for placement from installing the temporary door. There would have been stucco work and painting to the new construction to make the wrong hinge placement work, so they reordered the door. 6 weeks was their estimate, should have been mid April. End of May we finally received the replacement door after weeks and weeks of "next week" and "by the end of the week", and immediately noticed upon delivery (which was last minute, outside of business hours, lucky I was home to receive it!) there were problems. There were extra holes drilled on either side of the hinges, 6 total, filled in sloppily with non-matching filler, like meant to match oak or something, not the cherry door. Apparently it was for the hinge template? The first door we received did not have these holes... "Staining/painting you won't notice." except we aren't staining or painting this beautiful cherry door we paid a premium for! I probably could have lived with it if they fixed the filler to match, it's just on the side by the hinges and waiting another 3 months for yet another replacement door wasn't what I wanted to be doing, but they messed up milling the holes for the handle and lock, there were 1/2 inch chips of wood removed from the top layer finish of the door, beyond what our door handle would cover up. They had ruined a gorgeous $5300 door. Our contractor returned the 2nd door they messed up, and they happily took it, but then ghosted him as he tried repeatedly (call, text, email) to get the actual refund for the returned door...it's been weeks. Oh and they delivered one of our interior doors with a large hole in it, like they had dropped it or something, and refused to accept the return ("you accepted delivery, you probably damaged it!"). We had purchased an additional 6 premium interior doors from them and that was the customer service they treated us with? Bridge burned, our contractor got that interior door remade by a different distributor. Stay away from them. Their customer service is awful, their workmanship is terrible, they are flaky and unreliable with their timelines.

Ordered an 18" hollow core door for a small closet. Not a size that is normally stocked (anywhere)…read moreso it was a special order. I worked with Ryan. He took the order, and the door arrived about a week later. All good so far. However, the "good" stopped there. When we tried to install the door, we found that they had left no space between the door and the frame in the top left corner. If you look at any installed door, it should have a 1/8-1/4" gap between door and frame so that it can open. With this door, no gap. The door was cut just a bit too wide. We couldn't open it. We contacted Ryan and he acted offended that we had this issue. He immediately blamed it on us and asked really condescending questions (perhaps because I'm middle aged female, though I worked for years as a carpenter and my contractor is an excellent carpenter and experienced door installer). He actually asked me (several times) if we had removed the shipment screws that secure the door to the frame for shipment. Wow! That is a truly condescending question. He said we were installing it wrong. He was sure there was nothing wrong with the door and was very defensive. We sent him pictures of the door showing the issue. (See photo) The door was completely level and plumb, and there was no gap. One of his sales guys even came by, looked at the door and saw the same problem. Since we didn't want to rebuild the whole door, we asked him for a slightly larger header piece (just 1/8-1/4" longer) so we could disassemble the frame and reassemble with a slightly longer header, and he grudgingly agreed. My contractor drove through rush hour traffic to their location to get the new header. Guess what, it was exactly the same length as the previous one. Exactly. Not a millimeter longer. He provide us with a stock header. Why did he waste 2.5 hours of my contractors time to come pick up a standard header? It feels vindictive and unprofessional on Ryan's part. He said that he would provide us with the item that would resolve the issue, but he didn't. And he was rude about it even though it was his error. We finally created a small shim to move out the side frame piece a bit, and the door worked fine. (see picture). This place might be OK for standard, premade doors, but don't use them for a custom door, and don't expect Ryan to treat you like you have a brain in your head if there are any issues.

Hesam came out to take a look and said it was due to the installation and they did not put down a boards underneath, which was completed through his company. He was shocked and said NO. I showed him a business card for the installers and did agree yes those were his employees. So that tells me their installation work is poor. He agreed to have them replace a section. Then a few months shortly after the same issue happened in a different area. He agreed to come out and take a look and agreed to replace the planks. Mr Hesam said he would be in touch to schedule a repair. Days went by no contact. So I emailed Hesam and his response was it's the holidays they are really busy. Well I let that go, emailed Hesam again after the Thanksgiving holiday and to this day (5/13/2026) no response or callback. Well of course communication stops on my end because I am frustrated and it's been since November 2025 since I heard from him. The crack continues to grow and I'm left with damaged floor. The quality of the material if horrible and their communication as well. I do not recommend them after this experience and I paid over $9500. I am just writing this now because communication started in 2024 and issues has been trying to be resolved for 2 years now. Apparently there is lifetime warranty on the material. I am ready to escalate this if I cannot get these issues resolved. I don't like to leave bad reviews or comments but this issue has been going on too long and planks continue to crack.

He then stated the part wasn't in stock at their warehouse but was in stock at their SF warehouse--however, I'd have to pay for the part ahead of time before he can transfer it. I'm a busy guy and really don't feel like making two trips to their North SJ location (one to pay and one to pickup) so I asked if I could call him and pay for it over the phone, and he agreed. After multiple attempts to call him, I was finally able to reach him and proceeded to give him the cc number, and he stated that he'd ring it up and email me the receipt. Well, the receipt never showed up, but I figured it was the end of the day when I reached him, and he'd do it in the a.m. Well, I woke up this morning with a phone call from my CC stating my card had been blocked, and I needed to call them. It turns out there were several attempts of fraudulent purchases (one for several hundred dollars to Angelo Minetti and another for $12 for some other nonsense) that they had blocked. Fortunately, they caught the purchases, and they never went through. Luckily, this is my company CC and not my personal card, so it doesn't affect me too much. But is it a coincidence that the very same day I give this guy my cc that all of a sudden I'm getting fraud on my card? You be the judge, but I'm going with my gut on this. TLDR: Avoid these crooks.

They also made the cabinets with face frames and then broke two of them and had one of the corner units with a 8" opening, The never provided the panels for the dishwasher and the fridge and the entire kitchen was in cherry not maple. I gave them a tile to match color for the hall bath (not even close) never repainted, again no drawers (per detailed drawings). The hall closet was supposed to be one large opening to store vacume came as 2 and the master bath has same problems. These are also cherry not maple. They walked off the job not complete
