I really want to give this place more stars, but it's honestly just mediocre. We do visit here whenever we make a trip to Disney, but it's more for just the atmosphere and experience. The food itself isn't the greatest (my son will probably say otherwise) but there are other places in the park that I'd choose over this place. We usually order the Not-so-little chicken sandwich, but I noticed this time around, it really shrank! It used to be a huge chicken patty with a tiny bun, but on this last trip, the patty was really small. Service is quick and the workers are generally pleasant. We'll probably eat here again on our next trip, but hopefully they change up their menu. read more

We came here after about a year, maybe a year and a half. The last time we came every thing was great. This time, the chicken sandwich is literally 1/3 the size it used to be. It used to be so big you needed a knife and fork just to eat it. The chicken sandwich they have now is more akin to a snack. The tater tots are still good, but it's hard to mess that up. The grilled cheese pholly cheese steak hard hardly any meat. And the meat was poor quality, like something youd find at a dollar store when they existed. The cheese was the 711 nacho cheese im pretty sure, tastes straight out of a can. The condiment bar was askew, and the staff seemed to busy/understaffed to stay on top of it. I was not a fan, and neither were my kids, and usually if my kids don't like the food, we don't go back. My son ordered the nachos, and apparently the kid's nachos are vegan, which was a huge no for my child. The yogurt was so tasteless he almost burst into tears; his sister had to share her yogurt with him. My sandwich was okay; it was just mozzarella with tomatoes, not bad but not good either. My wife had the not-so-little chicken sandwich, and the chicken was too crispy; the only saving grace was the spicy sauce added to it. My daughter got the grilled cheese, and that was okay for what it was. It's hard to mess up a grilled cheese, and if you ever come to a restaurant that can't make a grilled cheese, that's a huge red flag. I think we expected a lot from this place and were extremely underwhelmed when we finally tried it. I've been to Pym Test Kitchen at DCA a few times now and I wish there were more fun food spots like this in the park! Before Pym opened, I was excited for the super size treats and weird creations, and they don't disappoint. It's still fast theme park food, but I'd go a solid 4 stars for Pym Test Kitchen! At first I thought an Ant-Man and Wasp themed restaurant in Avengers Campus sounded lame AF, sorry mr. rudd. However, it's a cool concept! If you haven't ever been there before, take a look around at the Avenger-fied decor. Huge soda cans, even bigger ketuchup bottles and there is a little tast test section! Two Ant-Man spots are right next to each other in this section of California Adventure: Pym Test Kitchen is the actual quick service restaurant. Pym Tasting Lab is more cocktails. The oversized pretzel is very popular but I think a bit of a letdown. I do enjoy the $16 "Not So Little" Chicken sandwich and my goodness, it's so filling. I think two people could easily share this. The ChocoSmash is a candy bar fit for kings and another popular item here. I am obsessed with their current seasonal Red Velvet Cold Brew with Cream Cheese Cold Foam ($7.29). It almost tasted like a hot chocolate coffee drink, so expect creamy and thick goodness. They actually have a bunch of breakfast options in the morning if you need fuel to get your day going. I saw a great review online about this fried chicken sandwich and got sick from the Gardians of the Galaxy ride thus thought perfect time to try the fried chicken sandwich. Total mistake. We went inside and ordered with a person at the kiosk then just waited around a bit. The server never mentioned the process to give our order to the next counter so just stood around for at least 5 minutes. I ordered everything on the side not knowing what sauces they drench the chicken in. It was a good call so I can control my sodium and sugar intake. The sauces are honey mustard and something similar to a Chick-fil-A sauce. I think the chicken was flattened to far that the chicken was soo dry and tough to eat. The tots were good. The pearls on top of the vanilla yogurt just tasted like sugar. The coleslaw has a vinegar based dressing which was ok. More of that still would not make the chicken taste better. I'm not a huge fan of their food - I haven't loved some of the items I have tried so we usually just stick to drinks for the most part, but my favorite items to order are the R&D Martini and the Choco Smash Chocolate Bar. The chocolate bar is close to 12 inches long, but it is so good! I ate about half of it and took the rest home with me to Sacramento. We stopped here to get the kids a mid morning snack after spending the first part of our morning in Carsland. They were delighted by watching the pretzels moving around inside the restaurant. The food here is okay- it's a good place to grab some casual bites. The pretzel is salty and dry but it's so huge that it's fun to eat. A lot of the things here are fun to try for the novelty of it and it's a great place for people with kids, as the seating is very spacious and there are good options for everyone in the family. My favorite thing here was the blueberry matcha latte. Overall not a bad choice but not our top choice when we come to the parks. read more

Ordered a Blueberry Matcha Latte with a taco salad. The taco was hearty enough for one person. Matcha Latte was much sweeter than bitter. Line went quick when I visited around 1 pm on a Thursday. When you order, you get a receipt, hand the receipt to the "scientists" and they will prepare your order. Once done, you can head out to the left to get your condiments, utensils, napkins, and sodas if you ordered a soda. Plenty of shaded options provided. You can see the Avengers show from where you are if you stand. Your view is covered if you sit and watch. Overall, it wasn't too bad. The Baseline: For a sit down Dining experience establishment the food flavors must represent the theme of the environment, there must be unique offerings to the restaurant based on the theme, and the experience must be immersive to the theme park experience. Food: The food at Pym's Test Kitchen is fun and themed. Size portions are distorted and really brings out the theme that Hank Pym's life's work has used his Pym Particles to enhance my dining experience. Way to go Antman! The food is okay in taste (except for the Humongous Taco Salad which is awesome). The Reactor Melt was good and tater tots will never be bad. The Beer Mimosa was surprisingly really good. The Mystic Taro Mocha is not on my top sweet drinks (looking at you Galaxy's Edge Black Caf). The Neutron Nachos would be great with real meat but vegetarians need to eat and impossible taco meat provides them the best fake meat alternative. Honestly Impossible Meat really works into the theme of this restaurant. Overall my main critique is that Pym's Test Kitchen needs to bring back the Deadpool and Wolverine Chimichanga. Bring back the Chimichanga, Disney. Bring... it... back! Service: The service is quick and efficient and the cast members are always friendly. Compliment you cast member on the Disneyland App please. Ambiance: It is big and small themed and science is king at Pym's Test Kitchen. One of the best themed fast casual eating establishments in the park. Very clean environment and extremely safe.
