Be aware and do your research, if you have ac running , 2 batteries is good for a couple hours only after dark. I have solar and 2 powerwall before so I know. In the daytime the panels are good to power your house and fully charge the 2 powerwall with good sun light. Nighttime powerwall takes over only for a couple hours with my ac set at 78 degree in Modesto ca. when battery is drain I'm back using power from the grid. So I have to pay for solar system and to the electric company. Winter is better but doesn't have good sunlight so Battery doesn't get fully charged. Winter consume less electricity but consume more gas from heater. I try to talk myself out of getting solar but They keep raising electricity or else I wouldn't need solar. Solar and battery degrade over time and warranty only cover if it's broken so down the line when your system is not producing enough power but still working they not fixing it. Thats to what I understand . I guess you're stuck and out of luck. I got nothing against Tim he's a good guy but I'm just upset about how he went back on his words

He was extremely knowledgeable about solar and made the process of designing our system straightforward and easy. Because I had travel plans, we couldn't start immediately, but the Syndy team scheduled our installation for Jul 27 - 28. Everything went exactly as planned. The materials arrived on Jul 24, and Martin and his crew, showed up right on time at 7:45 AM on Jul 27. They worked incredibly hard, efficiently completing most of the installation that day and returning the next day to finish the remaining panels and cleanup. That evening, seeing our panels generating solar energy for the first time was an amazing feeling! PG&E installed the Tesla Backup Switch a few days later, and everything seemed to be moving perfectly - until our Livermore city inspection on Aug 7. Unfortunately, we failed because an approved heat detector had not been installed. I was extremely disappointed. It felt like having an amazing present sitting right in front of me but not being able to open it! There were a few additional hiccups, but Jason stepped in, took ownership of the heat detector issues, and worked to get everything resolved. We finally passed inspection and received our permit on Aug 26, followed by PG&E Permission to Operate (PTO) on Aug 28. A huge thank you to the entire Synergy Power team: - Martin, Eliel, Manuel, and Nate for the excellent installation - Rebekah, Melissa, Mark, and Amy for keeping us informed - Jason for stepping in and getting the final issues resolved Overall, we are extremely happy with our solar system and grateful to the entire Synergy Power team for seeing the project through from start to finish. We were never happy with any of them. And so many are not trustworthy. But all that changed when Rage Mello knocked on our door! Rage and RJ met with us and was the first company to agree to the installation being on a pagoda instead of the roof. Something my husband is intent on it being. The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.

Wow, I cannot say enough good things about Ryan and his team! I hired them to remove our 69 solar…read morepanels and reinstall them after a re-roofing of our home. It's a nerve wracking process but Ryan gave me reassurance things would go well. Upon Ryan's recommendation, we also decided to replace the solar panel racking system installed by Sunrun because we were plagued with roof leaks due to improper sealing of their footings. Ryan and the Northstar team were absolute champs at removing and reinstalling the new system for us. Everyone we dealt with was so professional, kind and easy going. The work was beautifully done and based on all the photos and detail provided by Ryan I am confident we will be safe from leaks going forward. He also had to coordinate the reinstall with our roofer and everyone handled it so well. I 100% recommend Northstar and the team for this task, and also wouldn't hesitate to hire them for roofing based on their strong work ethic and product with our solar project.
