I didn't know what to expect or how it works. As you walked in, there a waiting area on the right, a host on your left, fill a small questionnaire using a QR code. Once completed, you will be taken to a room of your selected escape, the host will explain the rules and you watch a short video then taken to your designated room which you have 60 mins to complete. It was a fun and mindful experience in which everyone should try it. Our host was Rocket, she was friendly, humorous, patient and knowledgeable. It is a great place to bring your entire family. Note that the last check in is at 11:00pm on the weekend (at least that's what they said via phone call). They almost didn't let us in but we mentioned that we were the ones on the phone. After we all checked in, we explored each of the room. Some were super difficult, some were "easy". Each room lets you know if it's more physical, mental, or team work/ communication. Because each room is timed, I felt like I was in squid game without the gore and anxiety from pending doom. It's a great concept, especially if you go with an entertaining group looking for a fun time.

We did the Mob Boss room, and it did NOT disappoint. It was just the two of us because the rooms are private, and I actually loved that. We were able to work together, figure out our individual strengths, and tackle the clues as a team. And guess what? WE ESCAPED! We had a few clues along the way, but we ended up solving the room with just under TWO MINUTES left on the clock! Talk about cutting it close! We were so proud of ourselves when we got out. Molly was the staff member who helped us get checked in, sign the waivers, and get everything set up. She was friendly and helpful and made the whole process easy. And they don't just send you on your way after you escape. They have props available for pictures, and Molly took some photos of us afterward. It was such a cute way to remember the experience. My sister had so much fun that she immediately wanted to do ANOTHER escape room. Unfortunately, they didn't have another opening that day, but they did give us information about rebooking and a discount for coming back. I also really appreciated that they offer discounts for first responders. My sister is an officer, so that's an especially nice perk. There are several escape-room options in the Frederick area, but I'm really glad this is the one we chose. It was fun, challenging without being frustrating, and a great experience for both a first-timer and someone who's done escape rooms before. Definitely recommend if you're looking for something different and fun to do--especially on a rainy day!

It was…read morehumbling for a PHD, a MBA, and a software engineer (among others) ask for tips four times and still fail to solve the Mad Scientist room in time. We solved the puzzles out of order, so we got a little lost trying to solve puzzles that were already solved. Also, we wasted a couple of minutes thinking we had solved the room when there was more left. Overall, it's a good, stimulating experience. We will likely come back to try their Shipwrecked room. The service there is great. The staff is very accommodating. By the way, Yelp has the wrong phone number listed and I hear it's nearly impossible to change, so if you want to contact the staff, you'll have to do it from their own website.

My family and I had the call the facility back so many times. They never called back, I had to keep calling. Then they said they could send someone out. My wife and I both found it challenging and engaging. The room says it accommodates 2-6 individuals; however, I think it would be a great activity for just 2-3. I felt more than 4 would be a little tight. Review of the staff: I called about a month ahead of time to reserve the escape room for my wife's birthday. Normally, Escape Room Manassas is closed on Tuesdays (the day we went); however, a staff member (I assume the manager) opened just for us. It was such a nice gesture.
