The creek runs through the length of the park. It is noisy from cars near the road but as you head into the park southward you can get away from the noise. Yeahhh first to review this place!!…read more I have recently research the whole Virginia area for fireworks on forth of July...found out yowell park was having fireworks celebrations for the 4th so came here for some sparkling fun ....the park was nice and big... Lots of sculptures and a mini playground... The problem coming here on 4th of july was the massive croweds... I didn't know its was going to be this crowed... There's no places to even walk... You bound to bump into someone...don't get me started on the lines for the restrooms... horrible... about an hour wait... before the fireworks started I walked to the food stands to check out what they have to offer... Many items to choose from.. I got the vanilla soft serve for three bucks...large... It's was an ok soft serve... Had better... I know that fireworks are good and fun but the amount of people seriously makes my life feel like hell... I did however found the perfect spot to sit and relax my night away and still have an ok Fourth of July... The firework was about half an hour long... It wasn't extremely spectacular ... But at least there was actually fireworks on the forth of July ;)

They were idling in the vehicle for at least 30 minutes. Why can't they shut the engine off! They were not visibly working!!!! Ugh! The trail has been fixed up and one side has been recently paved. I hope to visit one day and have a quiet walk though. One mile around and back to the park. There is an extension up to Lake Pelham too - though it is closed for construction right now.

Best guess is someone or a group of people, screwed it for the rest of us. Could enjoy more without that view. Parks and Recreation is, supposed to be a little more relaxing. That being said good picnic tables. Also if you have little ones, they will like the playground area. It should get them plenty tired. Luray definitely cares about its citizens, and this park is stellar for a town of its size. Well done. If you're in the area, you can play sports or watch them.

This is one of Culpeper County's parks. It is located just north of Route 3. There is a children's…read moreplayground and a cannon at the entrance. Off to the right is a gravel road that runs along the river with a few pullouts. The first pullout is for a handicapped access picnic table. There is a larger picnic area off to left. Along the river for the first part you may smell cow poop as there is a farm on the other side of the river and the top side of the park. If you drive further back or hang out on the left side this shouldn't be a problem. If you are in the area or traveling through it is a good place to chill out for awhile.

There is a bathroom area as well and water fountains. We loved the trail and the creek the most. We spotted a snake, a lizard and some rabbits on our walk. It's a well taken care of spot I would recommend for some family fun or to get out of the house. We also saw a couple having a picnic and others walking dogs.

Great place with great views!…read more Pop "Woodstock Tower" into Google Maps, and it will take you to the right spot (Apple Maps only took me to the trailhead a distance away). This will put you near a little overlook off the dirt road or if you keep going, a small gravel parking lot. Be prepared to drive on dirt and gravel roads for over a mile to get here; you are going the right way! This end of the trail has a clearly marked sign saying it is the Woodstock Tower. From either of those parking lots it's only about ¼ mile walk to get to the tower. The path varies from rocky to flat dirt. Loads of hickory nuts line the path. You could also come from the other end of the trail, which is over a mile away in the other direction. The climb up is steep but manageable (I'd recommend being more careful descending!) with metal steps. Considering she's still standing 90 years after her construction, I'd say the tower is stable. Hats off to the Civilian Conservation Corps for building this lasting landmark! The views from the top are great and worth the short walk and short climb. I met a local man at the top who shoots a lot of videos from up there. He did warn that sometimes there are black bears in the area; I never saw one my whole time, but just keep alert. It was a little cold on the mid-October day we were there and the top of the mountain did mean lots of cross wind, so dress appropriately. Unless you're weird about heights (apologies to my wife; thanks for walking out to it with us, Baby), this is a worthwhile visit. Definitely recommend!

Nevertheless we found it :-) I was a bit apprehensive of climbing it at first but took baby steps lol. What a beautiful scenery once you reach the top. Great experience!

So for a mile round trip hike it is a good spot right now. However, at the half mile the trail starts to be over grown. It is peaceful here. I spotted a deer and many sparrows in a large clearing.

Despite being VERY muddy (everywhere is muddy right now because of all of the rain and snow!), it was absolutely awesome. As soon as we arrived at the dog park area at Chris Greene, which is a short and pretty walk through the woods from the parking area, Otis went NUTS! There's a ton of space to romp, and I think the dogs really love the added fun of dodging in and out of the many trees. I've never seen Otis run so much at a dog park, and despite the cold and ice on the lake he jumped right in. This place will be perfect when the weather is warmer and the dogs really want to swim! It also offers what no other dog parks have: total shade, which will come in handy in July and August! I did get a little turned around leaving the park - there are two paths and I couldn't remember which one we came in on. I took the wrong one, but it just took me on a pleasant little loop before arriving back at the parking area. For the direct exit, take the path on the right. I also think it's important to note that this park is big and your pooch can get pretty far away from you at any given time. I try to stay pretty close to my guy just in case he encounters a grumpy-pants-pup, and that feels pretty hard to do here. Still, like most dog parks around town, the owners were all pretty keyed into their dogs behaviors and we didn't have any problems.

Fortunately she had a name tag with phone number and we got her back that night. If they don't fix the fence you need to stay right with your dog, which defeats the purpose of the park.

Fun to walk around and enjoy nature. Good place for families or kids or even a casual date. There are plenty of benches and areas with shade. Parking is abundant and the fee to enter is pretty cheap!

We saw a few weddings here last weekend. Plenty trails and photo ops! Looks like a lot of people come here for maternity shoots and engagement shoots- the photographers have a special entrance ticket and rules to abide by. Not free entry but very well maintained and a beautiful experience for families or couples.
