This place rocks...complex, well developed Escape Rooms. Professional, friendly game-masters. Our group had a lot of fun! This is our second time here and we can't wait to come back to play in some different rooms. They are also developing a venue next door called the Game Show where you can play all the as seen on tv classics. We are eager to see what this is all about. thegameshowvirginia.com (website under construction so more to follow)

What a fun time with our group. We did the Alice in Wonderland and the other group did the Murder in Mardi Gras. We all had a great time. Whew you really have to be in your toes looking for clues. The rooms we're beautiful and set up great. There are clues all around you and when you have a timer clicking away it makes you really makes you work as a team. I would say it's fun and I will do it again if I get the chance again. Not sure who comes up with the ideas but wow they do a great job. Unfortunately you can't post pictures but I can post a few of the waiting area and all. They don't want you to post anything to give away any clues snd such. I do have to say stay focused, talk with each other and just really look around for you will find the clues. So go give it a try and have fun! The staff was great and Meghan was awesome with explaining how the game goes. The area all around from the front of the store to the bathrooms to the actual rooms we're clean.

Rush Hour is a really good escape room. It is located in a mall. They operate a couple different games at any one time. We were doing a limited run Christmas game "Dashing Through my Dreams." As with any escape room reviews, you do not want to give too many details. The facility is nice and new and the staff is very friendly. The games are challenging and well-designed. It is definitely worth a visit.

Great Birthday Party Location: My girls and their friends had a great time for their 13th birthday party at Rush Hour Live Escape Games, the party room was great and they allowed us to bring in pizza, sodas, and cake for the after the game party. Thanks to all their at Rush Hour Live Escape Games.

My daughter wanted to do something different for her 11th Birthday and decided on Rush Hour. We called and customer service on the phone was great. We set it up for Sunday with some friends. We had 2 parents go into the room to help her and her friends with the clues. They had a great time. Rooms are nice and overall interior is inviting. Met the owner Paul and he's great. Has plans to expands and become involved next community. They have space for team building or birthday parties. Great location outside of mall.

The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. We were actually about 5 minutes late and rushed there, but instead of making us feel stressed, they kindly told us to take our time and not worry about rushing. That small moment really showed how thoughtful they are. My family had such a great time, the kids were fully entertained and didn't want to leave. You can tell they really care about the experience they provide. No wonder they have a full 5-star rating on Google, which is rare to see. They truly deserve it. We will definitely be back!

Note that the last check in is at 11:00pm on the weekend (at least that's what they said via phone call). They almost didn't let us in but we mentioned that we were the ones on the phone. After we all checked in, we explored each of the room. Some were super difficult, some were "easy". Each room lets you know if it's more physical, mental, or team work/ communication. Because each room is timed, I felt like I was in squid game without the gore and anxiety from pending doom. It's a great concept, especially if you go with an entertaining group looking for a fun time.

We were immediately impressed with the staff, the fittingly eerie ambience of the lobby & waiting area, the creativity of the stories that set up the experience, and then - most importantly, the quality of the escape room itself. It was so much fun we became instant fans and have been back to many a Red Vein Escape in different family combinations: our whole family, boys day, parents w girls, etc. It is always a positive experience. The faves I've personally done since are Hunt for the Richmond Vampyr and Christmas Krampus. Now for obvious reasons, 2020 presented a challenge to operations, but the staff quickly rose to the occasion; they adapted to state mandates by incorporating face masks into part of their creepy "on brand" presentation. If you're looking for a great date, or a way to make a fun memory with friends or family, you could do worse than Red Vein Escape. YES kid friendly - if your kids are cool like mine ;-)

My husband and I did the Dr. Ensaine and the Bank Heist escape rooms. We did Dr. Ensaine first, which is level medium for difficulty. This one we thought was harder, especially since some of the writing on the objects was pretty worn down so it was hard to read it. I also wasn't sure how you were supposed to connect a couple things without a hint or nudge. This was has a creepy undertone to it but nothing pops out or no one comes out at you, which I was waiting for so that also through me off. The location of this escape room is also in the middle of the others so you could hear other people well which was distracting. We were able to finish even though our 60 mins was up and we finished 3 mins over. Princess was our game host for this one. We came back the next day to do the Bank Heist which was rated 2nd hardest escape room they had. My husband and I loved this one a lot more and we actually made it out with 8 min 47 sec left to spare! This one was more up our alley I think with the types of puzzles and def wasn't scary at all. They used all different types of challenges that we hadn't seen before in other escape rooms. We definitely loved the Bank Heist more, but both were good overall! We had a couple different game hosts here. For 2 people it was $37.50 per person, for 3 or more it's $32 per person. Each room is private so you don't have to share with strangers. You get 3 hints per room but unlimited nudges. It was a lot of fun!

It's easy to get to and appreciate that parking is simple via the attached garage (albeit the garage is interesting and could be the scene of a horror film). There are ample food options as well since this place is nestled in Ballston with the outdoor area on Wilson crawling with restaurants. If you need something quick, fast casual spots and fast food in general are offered in the food court inside of the mall. Now for the actual game review. It's best to book in advance online. Things are super easy and much faster; you also do not have to pick a game right away. So far I've played the Floor is Lava, a more family oriented one with my nephew, and most recently Squid Games with my nieces. Note that the latter is better suited for older kids. My youngest niece who is 5 had a couple of issues maneuvering her avatar during Squid Games. Of the three I played, Squid Games has been my favorite, naturally. Youngest niece kept dying every time she stepped foot. I was telling her to go left go left and she screamed back at me that she hadn't learned left or right yet, then proceeded to get picked off. Game aside, please note you are welcome to purchase drinks from the room. If you are playing a game that's more than 30 mins, note you will need water. There is a lot of moving around. Also note, sadly the water is Dasani so prepare to have your tastebuds assaulted.

I went with my niece and was genuinely surprised by how much fun we had! The games were interactive, challenging, and a total blast. We laughed a lot, got competitive, and I'm pretty sure people in the other rooms (or "boxes") could hear us having a great time. I'm really glad we gave it a try, and I'd definitely go back. If you have kids or are looking for a unique family outing, I'd say the passes are well worth it. One quick tip: Know exactly where you're going before you arrive. I didn't realize the location is on the outside of the mall, which wasn't a big issue for me, but it could be frustrating if you're tight on time. The confirmation emails do a solid job providing directions--if you're driving and parking. But if you're getting dropped off (like I was via Uber), the signage and location can be a little tricky to spot. A minor hiccup, but something to be aware of.
