Upon arrival, the heavy set gentleman who greeted us said to follow him and then proceeded to put menus on a table which did not appear to be designated for us and then walked into the kitchen with us still following. We then stood there confused and another employee wasn't even sure what table was supposed to be ours. I am still to this day not sure what that interaction was. We only had one basic question for our server while ordering an app. There was some sort of appetizer sampler platter on the special menu that we considered getting. It has some sort of fried mozzarella on it and we were trying to determine if that was the same or different than the cheese curds. She had no idea. We ended up getting the cheese curds due to the confusion over the sampler platter. They were the best part of the meal. My brother had the wings. Nothing fancy. I was super excited for the maple pork entree since I scanned the menu earlier in the day. It really had no flavor. The menu said it came with mashed sweet potato. It did not. It came with regular mashed. Their menu had some typos on it as well. The whole experience was annoying considering we expected a way better dinner overall based on the how website and reviews portrayed them. I would not recommend.

Ascutney for a week and decided to have a low-key night and have dinner at the onsite restaurant, The Maple Kitchen. It was a slow Sunday night and no reservations needed. The restaurant only had the bar tender manning the bar and the tables. He was very nice but the wait was long... luckily we were in vacation mode so we didn't mind the wait. While we were waiting for the food, we were enjoying the Moscow Mule made by the bartender. He poured all his drinks to the rim, it was great! They only had 2 things on tap: Switchback ale and Harpoon hard cider, but they were solid brews. It took about 45 minutes before our entrees were served and we started to think this may be a mistake. Boy were we wrong in the best way. The lobster bisque dip came with 2 rolls of warm bread already buttered on the outside...soft center with the creamy dip spread over it was so scrumptious. The lamb chop was cooked to perfection and had a orzo chickpea side that can be a main dish in itself. The duck was cooked with crispy skin on, very tender and also came with a delicious rice pilaf. We also had the half chicken breast dish which was perfectly seasoned, juicy! Came with a mushroom and spinach stir fry and mashed potatoes was more like creamy scalloped potato. We were completely stuffed but wanted to try a dessert because the food was just amazing. We shared a raspberry white chocolate cheesecake that did not make it in my photo because we finished it so quickly. Definitely come here, you will not be disappointed.
