We were just driving through and stopped here for a quick bite and don't regret it at all. Great food and awesome guy that runs it. He's super nice and you can tell this place is his passion. It's real quite over here (i came around 4 on a Thursday). Other food trucks play music close by so it's a nice little vibe while you wait for your food. He does work alone but the wait is worth it!! I got the Evil Jerk (jerk chicken and mac grilled cheese) and a mango/strawberry fruit punch. Super good and i highly recommend.

This food truck has been a staple to the JV Mall for at least 5years... If you like grilled cheese or sandwiches or grilled cheese sandwiches.. you need to come to this place. The owner has so many choices for you to choose from, even a lot of things that vegetarians can eat (so you know I am happy). My two favorite are the Evil One (macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese) and the Brie (Brie cheese with apple slices and fig jam grilled cheese). All sandwiches always come with chips and in the colder months I usually get his tomato soup, because it pairs so nicely with any of his sandwiches! The menu is long (as you can see) and it takes time for the owner to make each sandwich to perfection (10-15min wait for an order of 3-sandwiches or more), but you don't even mind that wait because the owner is so friendly and so kind and so welcoming... that no one ever care waiting long.. and once you do get up to the window, he is so thankful that you waited.. To the owner- please never leave. Your grilled cheese sandwiches are the best and sometimes me and my parents take the trip to the mall to just order your food! We don't even shop lol

We have seen this food truck for years but never got the chance to go until today! We tried the Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich and the Fire Half & Half! The food tasted great, literally the best grilled cheeses around! The staff member and owner were also both very nice, engaging in conversation with each customer. If you haven't tried their food, we definitely recommend! We will be returning soon :)

We recently tried the Put Some Meat on Your Bones Food Truck and had mixed feelings about the experience. The food itself was very good. We ordered the jerk chicken grilled cheese with tomato soup, and the flavor combination was excellent. The sandwich was packed with flavor and the tomato soup paired nicely with it. However, the service side of the experience could definitely be improved. The wait time was longer than usual because we were told they only take one preset order at a time and don't start the next order until the current one is completely finished. While the food was good, that process makes things move pretty slowly. Additionally, on a previous visit we drove a good distance and arrived about 5-10 minutes before the posted closing time, and there was no line or anyone waiting to be served. The person working was outside the truck having a conversation with someone and told us they were already closed. It was frustrating since we made the effort to get there before closing. Seeing the truck closed while someone was standing outside talking made it a little hard to digest. Overall, the food is definitely good and worth trying, but the service seems a bit selective at times. Hopefully that part improves because the food really does have great potential. read more

Put Some Meat On Your Bones with owner/chef Lyle is amazingly delicious. I really enjoy his delicious line of grilled cheese especially the fire half/half with buffalo chicken and jerk chicken which I order two of as one is for the next day. Service is phenomenal as well as I enjoy conversations we talk about while he cooks and after. He very personable and makes my time enjoyable while waiting for the food to cook. I come every two weeks on Thursday's to see him, talk and eat his delicious food. His pricing for all of his menu is very cheap and affordable for the amazing quality of delicious grilled cheese he puts out. I recommend you visit if you're ever near Jefferson Valley mall! read more

Never thought I would be writing a review of a food truck, but here we are! This is a full fledged grilled cheese restaurant in a food truck! He has every combo of grilled cheese imaginable and some I never even thought of. We had the Liam (mac and cheese, chili, grilled cheese) and Mother Cabrini (cheese, tomato, basil) both were delicious. They come with homemade chips, tomato soup is also on menu. The guy who runs this place is wonderful. You pay on the honor system ... ringing up your own tab. There is a Sign up by the register that says pay what you want. I discussed this with the gentleman and he said "people are struggling, so I am doing what I can" I was blown away! I would go back just to support this guy! The mall has carved out a nice little area for a few trucks.. they have picnic tables to sit on. Awesome experience overall and highly recommend. read more

I am admitting to several mistakes here. All of which lead to you gotta try this! First was my unhealthy craving. Was craving a hot dog so I yelped hot dogs and the nearest spot listed was this food truck. The name does include meat, my resolve caved and off I went. I had heard rumors of a "grilled cheese" truck that seemed to be in a similar location, but I did not put 2+2 together. Meat and cheese? Upon arrival in the driveway leading to Westchester Storage and Yorktown Golf & Baseball I find a line of cars, trucks and folks waiting at the window of the "Put Some Meat On Your Bones" food truck. Looks like grilled cheese - confusion. Wrong location? Where's my hot dog? Apparently my biggest mistake was not stopping here sooner. And yes, down at the bottom of that mouthwatering menu of cheesy deliciousness are hot dogs. I lost momentum at the grilled cheese and buffalo chicken Quesadilla, which at $5 was a bargain. Fresh soft taco, lotsa molten cheese and spicy chicken. Four big pieces served with chips. Will be back next week. May never make it to hot dogs. Just checked out this truck today. Wow!! I had the classic and my wife had the Buffalo chicken quesadilla...DELICIOUS! the owners are super friendly and the picnic tables are spaced out enough that we were able to sit and enjoy our meal as others did the same. Honestly it was like going out to eat ( which I miss soooo much). Honestly, the PERFECT comfort food when I think all of us can use alittle more comfort. Great food truck in the Jefferson Valley Mall parking lot. Excellent grilled cheese sandwiches. Very buttery and made to order. The pricing is unique in that you pay whatever you feel is fair. Completely lives up to the hype! Owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. Lots of menu choices. I got the half buffalo chicken/half jerk chicken grilled cheese, and it came with chips. Fantastic value for $7-8. Great vegetarian options too. I went around 3:30pm on a Sunday afternoon and it was "pay what you want hour." Luckily I was able to pay full price and tip, but I just thought that pay setup is so thoughtful for allowing people hit hard by the pandemic to still be able to grab a bite. Looking forward to trying all the other menu choices! read more

BACKSTORY: So...this big truck says "GRILLED CHEESE" and you know sooner or later, you will have to check it out. Being the brave soul I am and always willing to take one for the team, I stop and chat with the owner. I've already had lunch so another sandwich is out of the question, but it won't be long until I make a return trip. Fast forward to today (the backstory takes place last week) and I leave home a little early and stop for a GRILLED CHEESE. I opted for the 6 cheese on Sicilian Bread. Been to this food truck twice ( mostly because I work in the city and am never around when its open). Both time's I've gone the owner, Lyle, has always started conversations with all his customers and is literally the nicest guy. The grilled cheeses here are awesome as well. The jerk chicken tastes amazing, and every order comes with kettle chips. Now that I'm working from home a fair amount, I will most definitely be getting lunch here more often! read more

The reviews were not wrong - lunch today was AMAZING!!! I ordered the BBQ pulled pork grilled cheese and it was phenomenal!! My boyfriend ordered the macaroni n cheese grilled cheese and devoured it. We are a specialty mobile food unit focused on all aspects of grilled cheese. Our menu will feature standards as well as rotating experiments that we find exciting and fun.

History

Established in 2016.

We began preparations for the truck in 2013. The truck purchase and remodeling took place at this time. The menu development and location search was the focus of the new couple years. Locations in Westchester are difficult to find, and we found one close to home in our own community! Happy Are We!!

I do wish that the lemon slice that was provided would have been thicker. I was not able to get much juice out of my thin slice. Overall, the sandwich was decent. However, I am glad that there is finally a lobster roll option in the area, because I have been craving a lobster roll for a couple of months now.
