Updated review- after going here for a couple of years still appreciate the up front transparency for prices and services. The only thing I'd mention is that they aren't too good at sticking to time estimates for your car. I try to be the very first car in the shop at 8/9am since it's difficult to have someone on standby all day to take you to get your car. Felt I was treated VERY fairly. Took my truck in because it wouldn't start. I thought it was the batteries but the tow truck driver said they were fine. Probably starter. Took it in to Purrfect and ... it was the batteries (I have a big truck with 2 batteries). They could have said yup its the starter or the alternator. But they were honest and fair. We brought our car in on a Saturday morning to get an estimate on repairing the AC. On Tuesday morning I tried calling with nobody picking up. I called again in the afternoon and they didn't know who I was. He finally found it under my boyfriend's name. He said the car was on the rack and he would call back in a few with an estimate. Instead, I received a text with a crazy high estimate. Nearly $2500 for a long list of odd repairs having nothing to do with the AC. And I caught him in a lie that clearly showed he was ripping off a female customer. He said that my maintenance required light was due to a bad battery. We happen to know that the maintenance required light as a timer that tells us when to get an oil change. it was a big red flag for me. Then, we come to just pick up the car and get it out of here, and they hit us with a $200 inspection fee that was not mentioned when we dropped the car off. Ladies, do not shop here. read more

My recent service was typical of all my experiences with them. Easy to create a service appointment online, appointment was acknowledged, service was performed quickly, accurately and affordably. I have never had to return to have them correct their work. I have had them perform simple oil changes to $3000 service. Always great! I cannot recommend enough. I had an appointment for oil-change with Midas in Tustin, right next door of this Purrfect Auto #79 , 3075 Edinger Ave, Tustin CA 92780. I didn't realize going to the wrong shop until I came back to pick up my car. This Purrfect had my name and info since I went there long time ago and they didn't inform me that I didn't have an appointment with them. In the beginning I signed for $ 112. When I pick up my car, they charged me for $170, saying they had to changed so many screws etc., all kind of excuses. My car is Audi Q8 2023 !!! I protested, even the manager stayed with the price. If I could give 0 stars I would. David the owner does not care about providing his customers "a honest, caring auto repair shop" (this was pulled From The Business). It was my first time here and definitely my last. I never really leave reviews but I am trying to get the message out there, especially to college students like me who need reliable service not to come here. I came in Friday afternoon as it was one of Triple A's approved auto repair shops. They told me they needed to do the initial diagnostics and told me it would be done today or tomorrow. I got a call Saturday morning in which I was informed that they also sent a text message to let me know what needed to be done. I appreciated the call because that is what I am used to when getting car services. I gave them the GO to work on it. At 1:50pm Saturday, I got a text message they were finished and would be at the shop until 3pm as seen in the picture I attached. I saw the message at 2pm and I took a Lyft there and arrived at 2:38pm to find out they were already closed!! I took a Lyft there and back home and wasted my money for them to be closed. When I went in this Monday morning, David was there. Upon arrival, I told him I was picking up my car and he slid me the invoice and said, sign here. I signed and waited for him to say anything but instead just slid me my copy of the invoice, and my keys and said nothing. I asked him if he was here on Saturday and he explained that he was just there part of the day. When I asked him who closes, he answered by saying "technically we are not open on Saturdays." Major red flag already with the tone and his response. Nowhere on their website, google, yelp, and even the invoice he gave me where their store hours were written did it say they were closed or "technically closed" on Saturdays. When I proceeded to ask him why it says 8am-3pm on their door, he cut me off and said "It's old information." I explained to him my frustration because I wasted money coming to a closed shop and why they hadn't fixed the "old information" his response was "They try as a customer courtesy" whatever that means. As you can see, his responses to me were laughable, lies, and ignorant. Don't come here just to have poor customer service from the owner himself. read more

I tried doing an oil change myself and ended up getting a nasty leak. Brought my car to this shop to get it professionally looked at. They brought my into the shop and showed me what was wrong, replaced my old defective filter and gasket, and even told me how to go get it warranty'd at Oreilys. Even though they were super busy and closed in two hours, they were able to get my car on a lift and had me in an out in an hour. Response time from the owner for text messages was super fast as well. My technician Michael was super friendly and super helpful. The pricing was super fair (they're located in a plaza surrounded by other auto shops), and offered me the 10% AAA discount for being a AAA member. Special shoutout again to Michael, super awesome technician. Felt bad for how busy he looked and he was still so patient and friendly. Visited this place for my ac issues on my car. Was told I needed a new compressor and dryer due to a leak from those components. I paid the $3500 for the repair, 2 months later it needed to recharged again, they said it was another component under the dash. I found out that my rotors and break pads were in serious condition on a Friday. I brought my car in on Monday and in a couple of hours all was replaced. Shout out to Luis and the rest of the crew here. Brought in car that had shaking steering wheel when braking. Of course this could be one of several things (Brakes, Rotors, Alignment, etc). Diagnosed it in a couple hours, and gave me straightforward feedback as to what the issue was as well as pricing. Luis mentioned that there were several other minor issues for the car (related to the age and/or comfort, but not safety related like brakes are). A couple of times they have pointed out small things I need when I'm there like new wipers which they also replaced quickly for a price I'd expect to pay anywhere. I recently had the unfortunate experience of having my vehicle serviced at Purrfect Auto--a complete nightmare from start to finish. I feel compelled to share my terrible experience to prevent others from enduring the same ordeal. First and foremost, the customer service manager provided by Dave, was abysmal. The staff was consistently rude, unprofessional, and seemed utterly disinterested in addressing my concerns. They displayed a complete lack of respect for their customers and failed to provide even basic courtesy. I dropped my 1992 c Chevy van off on Thursday, July 27, 2023. After a couple days of no communication I called for an update and was informed that I needed to send a deposit before they would begin the evaluation process. Why didn't they request a deposit when I dropped it off, rather than just allowing my van sit in their parking lot untouched while I was waiting for a call? After I paid the deposit, (not-so)-Purrfect Auto fail to diagnose the problem accurately. It was evident to me that the technicians lacked the necessary expertise and attention to detail required to handle automotive repairs effectively, but rather than disclose this deficit, they kept my vehicle for an entire week. When I reached out asking for an update I was given assurances of the date the service would be completed. But when I called and asked if it was ready to be picked up, Dave informed me that they hadn't gotten to it yet! After being very inconvenienced and with no resolution in sight, I finally sent a tow truck to pick up my van and take it to an auto shop recommended by a colleague. I asked Dave several times to refund my deposit, which he asserted had already been refunded, and yet as of two weeks after pick up, a credit had not yet reflected on my statement. I finally had to file a claim with my credit card company, which handled the dispute on my behalf. Additionally, the pricing at Purrfect Auto is not competitive but rather, is exorbitant compared to the other auto shops-- and for subpar service and a lack of transparency. They shamelessly overcharge for simple repairs and parts, I believe, to take advantage of their customers' lack of knowledge. I felt exploited and cheated throughout the entire process, with no regard for fair pricing or transparency. The shop I had my van towed to shared that the problem was not what Purrfect Auto diagnosed but a much simpler and cheaper problem, saving me almost $700.00 from the original cost of $1,200.00 . To add insult to injury, the promised completion time for the repairs was repeatedly pushed back, causing unnecessary inconvenience and frustration. It was clear to me that Purrfect Auto was very disorganized and failed to manage their workload effectively, leaving customers like me waiting for extended periods of time without any explanation or updates. In summary, my experience at Purrfect Auto was a complete disaster (and very imperfect). The combination of atrocious customer service, substandard workmanship, inflated pricing, and unfulfilled promises make this establishment one to avoid at all costs. I was told I would get an update the next day. No call, no update for two days. At this point it's Friday, so I decided to call and check in. Their phone line was disconnected! So now I'm starting to panic! It has been two days since I heard anything and the phone has just been disconnected. My boyfriend drove down there and found out they were shut down because of Covid until Tuesday. We got the info on the garage from the neighbors, not from the managers or the owner; no one made the effort to get in touch with me to let me know the garage would close Tuesday. So now it's Tuesday (one week later), the phone was connected this time and I finally spoke to someone. I was told some parts needed to be ordered. I told him to order the parts so I could return my car rental, which I had to get due to my car being held by this garage without notice. He responded, "Ok, hopefully we can have it ready for tomorrow." The shop hasn't gotten back to me, so I called at 3pm on Wednesday. I was told they were waiting for my confirmation to order the part. The mechanic responded to my text message (photo attached) which means that he received my confirmation to order the part. My car sat all day without being serviced, and I'm paying day-to-day for a rental car. Again, I confirmed the order and was told, "Hopefully tomorrow it'll be fixed, we'll call you." I finally picked up my car on Friday, September 3. I never write reviews like this, but Purrrfect Auto Service was in reality, Horrrific Auto Service. To prove my point again, after I picked up my car, a manager reached out to offer a $100 refund due to the time it took to fix my car but have not received a call or text to follow up. My son's truck wouldn't start so we called AAA. The tech said it wasn't the battery, so we had to have it towed to a AAA approved repair shop. Cool, let's roll! Because it was after hours, we were told there were envelopes by the front door and to fill one out, seal the keys in it, and drop it in the drop off slot. Done. I get a call the next morning from Dave. The mechanic started the truck just fine...about a dozen times. BUT, they found other things wrong. Isn't that how it always is? Faulty thermostat, leaky fuel pump, faulty pulley belt system, low oil and coolant. Ugh! I received the estimate and had a minor heart attack. I ask them to repair whatever was a safety issue. That estimate was doable. Whew! I also got the AAA discount and a free tire rotation. Thank you Dave for taking care of my boy's truck. We will be back with his twin's Jeep. read more

I chose this business because I work nearby. A firmed has had work done here and was always satisfied. After taking my car to the dealership for a full work up and getting a quote of $1600 for repairs. I wanted a second opinion. They checked out my car and not only did they offer to do the repairs at a lower cost but they also found my brakes needed to be replaced! The dealership completely missed or just neglected to tell me about the brake issue. The owner here is super nice and understanding. The mechanics are great and my car is running great! They offer a 2year/24k mile warranty for the work they did and since it's so close to my job, I will continue to bring my car her for service! Thanks guys!! read more
