I walked into Purrfect early one morning because my brakes were grinding. I walked into the front office and could see the gentleman, Alex, talking with another man. I could also hear them, Alex was talking about what girlfriend he was sleeping with currently and showing pictures. I had to walk outside to get his attention. once inside he played me up, said he won't charge me for inspection of my brakes, cool. he calls me and tells me I need new brakes and rotors all the way around. it's gonna be $700. I don't have that, so he offers a loan program. it's 100% interest. so a $700 job is now doubled. when I walked back to get my car, only the hood was popped. it doesn't even look like he took a tire off to check the brakes. he told me I was metal on metal on the front and 20% on the back. well, I had a personal mechanic look into this for me, and it turns out my back brake was dragging because of my emergency brake usage. nothing else. it cost me a whopping $40. alex made me cancel my plans, work, etc. bevause he had me thinking I was unsafe to drive. the absolute pinnacle of male mechanics in this world. scum. read more

I'm so beyond grateful to have found Alex several years ago - the service, expertise and integrity he has brought to me and I'm sure all his clients is such a refreshing and rare blessing. My last oil change I took my car to a neighbor for the first time not for convenience but to somehow contribute in helping the family out since they've been having a challenging time. Although I feel it's always the right thing to help when we can, yesterday I learned there's times when we need to keep certain services to be done only by our proven and trusted resources. Yesterday after it being just a few days of having my oil changed with neighbor my low oil level light went on as I was getting on the freeway - first time I've ever seen that light and pretty strange I thought. Thankfully I was close to Alex's shop so I called him to explain the situation- he quickly welcomed me to bring my car over - after lifting the car he found the canister hadn't been tightened properly from the recent oil change with neighbor and there was quite a bit of oil dripping from when I drove up and all over the bottom of the engine reaching back to the muffler and the oil level barely registered on the dip stick! He quickly cleaned off the oil and topped the oil off - all in a moments notice and very unexpectedly for free! I was actually on my way to evening mass when the low oil light went on and from what COULD HAVE been a much worse situation with the amount of flammable oil all over to barely having any oil in the engine - although I didn't make it to mass I found Gods amazing graces poured out during this visit through Alex just simply being who he is. My car's splash guard began to detach on the 91 and was scraping the freeway, so I exited first chance I could and randomly chose to park in front of Purrfect to ask for help. Knowing my whole family was in the car with me and that I was a bit frazzled, they had me pull my car around to the back immediately to check out the issue and quickly removed the splash guard, which was too damaged to re-install. These guys kicked butt! 90 degree heat, 30 year old Jeep, holiday traffic, A/C broke, promise to friends we would do some Jeeping around Big Bear, rig completely loaded with food, gear, etc. Front brake locked up a mile from a freeway exit that meant nothing to me. No! Limped along, got off freeway, and my wife points down the parking lot and says "look in the mirror." 15 minutes later the guys at Purrfect had the rig up, confirmed what I knew AND more importantly convinced me I would be on the road again by noon the next day. After helping us try to get a rental car, and keeping the shop open enough for some friends to come get us, we left for the mountains with all trust in the Purrfect guys. Alex is a blessing! I had to get my car towed over to him, after my car was stranded at my job for two days. I read all of the Yelp reviews, as I don't know any mechanics in the area and was looking around. The reviews speak for themselves! I brought my car in, and he was friendly, personable, and so optimistic! It's nice to feel like you can trust someone simply by a quick drop off. Alex looked at everything and gave me a rundown of everything that was wrong with my car, and let me tell you... it was A LOT. My car was not able to be driven at all, and I had neglected the care and maintenance for my vehicle. The grand total should have been well over 2 grand. My fiancé was even trying to get me to sell it and get a new car, because he didn't think it was worth it. The quote that Alex gave was generous to say the least. Went here to get my a leak fixed on my Dodge truck. Knowing where it was coming from and specifically telling them to JUST FIX THE LEAK! I knew it was the water pump and had to be replaced. So what did these guys do? Not only did they NOT give me a curtesy call to inform me of progress, they went ahead and started replacing parts and issues I ALREADY KNEW ABOUT! Not only that, the parts they replaced were cranked up in price about 150 to 300% for profit for them.
