Based on how humiliated and unvalued I felt during my visit, not just as a potential customer but as a fellow human, I will, of course, never return to this dry cleaner. UPDATE: Just returned from Puritan Cleaners! FANTASTIC place so far! No problem with taking our dry cleaning and it will be ready by tomorrow!!! I will return, though I noticed that their daily specials have been reduced quite a bit when compared to earlier former promotions (i.e. 5% off for shirts on Tuesdays and pants on Wednesdays, when before it was a 20% discount...). I would like to commend and applaud Debbie Oldham for her being the most outstanding ambassador of your organization in this community. In my experience in over the eight years that I have known her working at your Southshore Pointe location, she has always shown superb care and concern for both the customer and his/her clothes. First, she always, let me repeat always, insures that the clothes are done correctly, or she sends them back without hesitation. Second, if a garment is missing, she tracks it down, and has it delivered to the customer and on some occasions, has even delivered it herself. Third, she is sensitive to the needs and desires of the customer. She listens intently and endeavors to get the cleaning order done right the first to the exact specifications that the customer requests. Finally, she takes the time to get to know her customers, talking to and easily engaging them in conversation. In summation, in my view, you couldn't have chosen a more considerate, caring, professional, dedicated, and loyal employee to manage and staff your store. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! If I could give them zero stars, I would. I set up home delivery online and it took them over a week to get me the starter bag, when I was promised the next day after a phone call by a driver. When I called about it, Debbie told me she would respond to me and I never got a phone call, then blamed her driver and everything else instead of just owning up to it. I had to take all of my clothes down to the dry cleaner after all of this. They charged my card $150 for 16 pieces I had dry cleaned! They did not have their prices posted online and I soon found out that their prices are WAY higher than that of the other services. The other dry cleaners are $2 a garment, how the HELL can they charge $8+ without posting it?! THE SERVICE IS RUDE, THE SERVICE LACKS PROFESSIONALISM! I said, "No, you have hemmed many of my pants and you know I do not like them that long." I asked again if I could try them on and show her. She said "No, it doesn't matter. I don't make mistakes. YOU must be the problem." She refused to even look at the pants, so I left. BEWARE! I have taken my alterations to Shockoe Bottom Cleaners with a total of ~15 pairs of pants to be hemmed over the past 18 months. I chose them because they are close to work. I have never had a problem with them prior to this week - they are usually very nice, as I am a regular. I feel a true measure of a store's integrity is how they view customer service and if/how they try to please their customer. I am a regular (they know me by face) and they still refused to treat me with respect. It is a shame because now they have lost me as a customer. (I cannot speak on behalf of their dry cleaning services, although they seem reliable.)
