Horrible experience. They came out under my home warranty company (AHS). First, they said I needed a new motor, so I paid the $75 deductible with AHS and had it replace. It did not fix the problem. Then they said the second motor needed to be replaced. So they submitted ANOTHER claim to AHS, I paid $75 and they replaced it. It did not fix the issue. They said they needed to increase the HP of the motor, sent ANOTHER claim to AHS, I paid another $75 and they said I would have to pay them $100 directly. It did NOT fix the problem and actually caused more of a problem so they had to come back and switch it back out. Somewhere in there they said I had to get a Pentair Intelli system and installed it. They did not submit a claim to AHS and charged me $1,000!!!! I called AHS and AHS advised me not to pay until a claim had been submitted and either paid by them or denied by them. By the way, the problem was still NOT fixed! I hired a local guy for $300 and he fixed the very simple issue. Turns out I did not need any of what they provided and I paid $225 to AHS for this. A YEAR later, I get a call from their collections department on the $100 bill. I had to take pictures and remind them that they took back the higher horsepower motor so I did not owe this. Then they came after me for $1050 (not sure how another $50 got tacked on). I reminded them of what AHS said. So they submit the claim to AHS (yes, a year later) which is denied and now are saying they will send me to collections if I do not pay IN CASH by next week. (For a system it turns out I did not need.) They say I had a year to pay...which is crap it was on them to file the claim and let me know. AND I was supposed to authorize the work AFTER a denied claim, which did not happen. And now I have this woman texting me incessantly that they will take me to small claims court. Long story short, the technicians (which they contract with and are not really employees) were nice. But their service it terrible. Their diagnosis of the problem was non existent. I feel totally taken advantage of and will never work with them again. read more

I called on a holiday weekend and received a call back on that same weekend. Service was scheduled the first business day and the Technician diagnosed and replaced a bad condenser in only 15 minutes. Well, reviews don't lie and I'm amazed that this ridiculous company isn't rated 1-star. They were assigned by the Home Warranty company, similar to many of the other reviews. The "dispatcher" lady was just awful, major attitude problem and incredibly unhelpful and rude. Speaks poor English and is clearly just in business because of home warranty companies who clearly hire this joke of a company to do their dirty work. They assign this company to "diagnose" the problem and chalk it up as something that is not covered under the warranty program. Our pool pump went out. Home warranty sent Pure Pool, Inc. to replace the pump. Pure Pool installed a refurbished single-speed pump, which is illegal in California. We had no idea but found out several months later when we continued to receive power bills that were four times what they normally are. We reached out to Pure Pool and the lady that answered was super aggressive. We've filed with the BBB and are taking them to small claims courts for a new pump and power bill.. read more

Worst experience. They were sent out by our home warranty. They replaced our filter less than 6 months ago. It broke. All parts looked old. At this point my realtor contacted the home warranty Insurance and another vendor was chosen. BUYER BE WARE, DON"T TRUST THEM FOR A SECOND ! OMG, these people are liars and thieves. I was sent to them from AHS because my pool filter cracked. The gave us two options; "cash out" and have your own company replace it or they would put in a rebuilt one. I said fine, put in a rebuilt, assuming it was rebuilt from the factory. Turns out the put in a used bottom tank part, looks like 10-15 yers old, not what they promised at all. They scheduled and then rescheduled taking them over two weeks. We called them when we got home and told them the pool was draining and the spa wouldn't come on. Turns out they closed valves and the back pressure blew the pipes which started leaking in at least three places.They said, not their problem its a new issue and its would take them another week to come out and to turn the system off even though it was leaking and we lost several feet of water. Today, I alerted them it was critical, the promised to call us quickly back in 30 minutes to get someone out but three hours later, with no call and great attitude from them, we called our pool maintenance company who came out and found the damage they had done and is repairing as I write. So, falsely representing they replaced the filter drum with a rebuilt one (note Pentair does not rebuild them even though that's how they made it sound) and swapped in an old used bottom to the filter, then leaving the system broken and leaking is enough. I think is criminal they way they do business. I complained to AHS and will do what's necessary. BUYER BE WARE, DON"T TRUST THEM FOR A SECOND ! read more

Worst company EVER. Came to my house to evaluate my spa heater under a Home Warranty Policy. Tech came out and told me one thing and then turned in a report saying the complete opposite. Had to pay and have a second company come out to inspect the heater. Totally competent and efficient (Provolt Services) called the Home Warranty company and they said they would have pure pool call me and have the tech call to discuss their decision. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM. It's been over a week. Bonnie I think is the owner. The name of the tech who came out is Albert. I don't blame him much except he really doesn't know much about pools and spas but I'm sure he just wrote what the owner told him to. There is no way I would ever use this company (Pure Pool Service in Simi Valley). Rude, and horrible customer service and horrible technicians! I had an issue with my pool pump. It took multiple attempts to get scheduling correct, then when finally the technician showed up, I was not able to communicate with him in english. When the technician finished the work and left, the pump stopped working the next day. It took three attempts to get it fixed. 3 months after the job was done. The pump started leaking and when I tried to call the company the answer was "Create a new work order, I will not fix your leak". Wow! read more

This is our second time hiring them for pool repairs. We've never had any issues with them. They've always been kind, courteous and respectful over the phone and in person. I'm a little shocked at some of the reviews because this has never been our experience. Our pool filter had problems, they were quick to get the parts ahead of schedule and made the repairs in time for the weekend. As a new home owner, no one tells you of the problems you will face having a pool in your back yard. Last week was a little bit warm in Northridge so my kids wanted to jump in the water and swim, so I turned on the heater for them. The day after they wanted to do it again, but this time the motor shuts off. I was worried so called the warranty company and they referred me to Pure Pool Inc. Now I was skeptic because of the old reviews I saw here, but I needed the pool fixed fast, so I went along. The company sent the technician within an hour to look at the problem, he diagnosed a bad filter and something wrong with the flow. The technician leaves and comes back in an hour with alot of tools and started working. The next hour was me looking over his shoulder to see the disgusting filter and all the bad stuff in there (previous owner). So I called the company office and the lady (I think her name was Bonnie) answered me and explained to me the procedure. Again I was still skeptical, but I went along as she told me that she will send the technician to finish it up by the next day. The next day the technician came in and fixed everything up! I was in shock because I believed the reviews I saw here and didn't give this company a chance. I realize alot people out there might be frustrated like I was, and it had led to an argument of some sort with the technician or the office. I also realize that we pay money to get our pool fixed and we need it done fast. However, I do want to say this, imagine the roles are reversed and an angry customer is yelling at you to get you to do your job faster, what would you do ? He wanted to replace the blower but it turns out the pure pool service tech was right and the gas valve wasn't tight enough. It's been two weeks and our pool heater has not made a noise. read more

Javier arrived on time and was professional during his visit. He didn't up charge us, instead he educated and informed us as needed. We just redid the pool and deck. He stopped by for both the filter and the pump. Fixed the gauge on the filter and explained the pressure is high and needs cleaning ASAP. We also have a booster pump that needs fixing and instead he suggested we check the electrical prior to messing with the pump as it was recently installed (it's an old pump). I was connected with Pure Pool Services through my home warranty company. I sent a request late at night and the next morning Pure was already scheduling a technician to come same day. I was very surprised since usually any technician booked through warranty company takes at least a few days. Anyway they sent Pete, he was GREAT! Seems like he knew everything about my spa. I'll make this easy on you. These guys are crooks, liars, and cheaters. There are dozens of good reputable pool guys who deserve your money. Why such harsh words? I thought you'd never ask. I had a problem with my jacuzzi water level dropping overnight. I called my  home warranty and they put me in touch with these morons. When they called me, they told me that my warranty probably wont cover the repair as they do not cover underground plumbing. This is important, THEY OFFERED TO COME OVER AND GIVE ME A FREE ESTIMATE. We understood that since the warranty is not going to cover the repair, they would come by and give me the estimate for out of pocket repair. They came by, gave the estimate, and were on their way. No service was performed, they were here for about 4 minutes. About a month later, I get a letter from my home warranty saying that I owe $75 for a service call fee. As it turns out, these scum dirtbags went ahead and submitted the invoice to warranty anyway, (most likely because I didn't let them do the work). My warranty company charged me the $75 for nothing. Literally. Why didn't I let them do the work? Ahh, this is the meat of the complaint. Their guy came over and without looking at anything, offered that we have a leak in the plumbing between the jacuzzi and the pumps on the other side of the yard. They quoted $4000 in repairs as they have to dig bla bla bla. That same weekend, my pool guy came over and said our water level is low, probably a $40 valve that drains the jacuzzi. He replaced it without me even asking him to, and voila, problem was solved. So these *ucks came over and without troubleshooting suggested that I spend $4,000 digging up my yard. I just wonder how many poor people they take advantage of.   Bottom line, they are dishonest, and pretty much inept. They will cost you lots and lots of your hard earned money. And final lesson, for $75 dollars they bought themselves this God honest review, and a matching one on BBB. I've tried calling them to remedy the $75, and no one has yet returned my call. It has been 4 months now. I paid the $75 to my warranty so they don't cancel me. But I bought something more than that. I bought the right to tell you fine people to stay the hell away from these predators. Will also be sharing this review with Old Republic and American Home Shield. read more

One of the worst experiences I ever had with a contractor they are rude condescending act like they are doing you a favor when they are getting paid for the services they are performing they are not open on the weekends which makes it even more difficult to get your job completed I called on a Thursday they came out on a Monday said they would have the part in a day or two they came back on a Saturday with the incorrect part also notice that there's a leak coming from another location in my piping documented it by taking pictures I called and complained that they brought me the wrong part and that my pool is not fixed they said they would order a part Monday be back Tuesday was another lie they came back on Friday an hour after they were supposed to be here according to the call and the time window that they gave me then they brought the one part fixed part of the problem and neglected to fix the rest and refuse to come back and do a proper service I would never deal with them again one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with in my life in the service industry negative negative negative if I could give them a negative five I would just a joke of a company I'm surprised they're still in business no wonder they have such a low rating unfortunately with home warranty companies you don't have an option of selecting who they send out to come fix you and you are just their victim do not be a victim do not use them you will be very unhappy that's just my honest opinion read more

Excellent company. Phone/dispatch employee, Destiny, is courteous and professional. Technicians, Tomas and Fransisco, were technically adept and personable. Response time was very quick and job was completed in a timely fashion. Workmanship on repair and installation was impeccable. Best of all, the owner, Bonnie, handles everything efficiently and pleasantly, and it feels great to support a local, minority owned, family business! I think any bad reviews are probably a result of insurance claims being denied by the insurance company and not because of Pure Pool.
