I won't say that finding out that Orangetheory was finally opening in Milwaukee was the happiest day of my life, but it probably makes the top five. This is the best workout I have ever had. It's hour-long group fitness that blends cardio and strength training and is all based on your heart rate (everyone wears a heart rate monitor with the results posted on screens in the studio so both you and the trainer can see what's going on). I've been in other group fitness classes where the trainer might tell you to do 6.0 mph on the treadmill. Trouble is, one person's 6.0 leaves them gasping for air and ready to puke while another person's 6.0 is a nice little warm up. Here the trainer will tell you what heart rate zone to get to and whether you get there running 6.0 or walking 3.0 at an incline of 7% is up to you. Because it's so individualized this workout is for anyone - those new to working out, those recovering from an injury, and hard core gym rats alike will all get a good workout here. Though every workout incorporates the treadmill (or bike or elliptical if you are treadmill averse or have an injury that prevents you from getting on the treadmill), rowing machine, TRX and weights, every class is different so you won't get bored. The workout is based on the theory of EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) which finds that getting your heart rate above 84% of your maximum heart rate for 12-20 minutes will boost the calories you burn for up to 36 hours after you've stopped working out. At the end of every class you get a report with your results which shows you how many minutes you spent in each heart rate zone as well as an estimate of calories burned. I don't really think about this too much, all I know is that Orangetheory got me in the best shape of my life. And your first workout is free and there's no contract to sign. What have you got to lose? Try it.

There are so many ways to visit Brew Fitness - in person, online for live zoom classes and on-demand classes. I've added a picture of my favorite area - the personal training station. I love the group classes, but the personal training offered here is wonderful. The trainers are knowledgeable, nice and fun! Membership: I do the unlimited membership because it gives me access to all the classes, but you can buy packs of classes, a virtual membership, on-and demand access. All very well priced! You can even drop in for single classes! Extra bits: Also worth mentioning are the dogs you might see, the beer you may drink and the coffee that's always available. It's also always clean - it's two levels of fitness fun. Just a unique experience at a gym that's truly member focused. I signed up for a free session and it was my first experience with reformer pilates. It is a very nice and wonderfully maintained space. All of the instructors are amazing, but Jodie is expectational and deserves a special shout-out. She is extremely knowledgeable in terms of anatomy and physiology, very encouraging, and a fantastic instructor. I continued at Club Pilates well beyond my PT graduation as I found it physically and mentally beneficial. I work a fast-pace and demanding job during the summer, and enjoy travel in autumn, so I will likely rejoin in the cold months. It is more expensive than the run-of-the-mill gym spaces but, I personally feel, the instruction and health benefits are worth it. Thank you to all the staff at Club Pilates WFB for helping me both mentally and physically during my recovery. 5 stars for sure :D

I signed up for as many classes as my schedule would allow to get a sense of all that they offer here. Turns out, quite a bit. There are plenty of evening and weekend classes that fit my schedule, but weekday ones, too. They also offer several different types of classes - different paces, different ability levels. The instructors, Jozi and Kelsey, are really skilled at what they do. With two instructors, you get variety in teaching styles and flows. It keeps my short attention span happy. Each class was challenging and left me feeling great afterward. The space is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The instructors are incredibly thoughtful in their direction of each class, down to the lighting and music.

There certainly is a sense of community and they have monthly themes for classes to keep everyone engaged in a joint focus. They also do a number of fun events and workshops to mix things up. After a few months they unfroze my membership's and tried to charge me for another month. Seeing this i contacted them and requested to cancel my membership. I was then informed I had to pay for that month and a late fee! For something I didn't use at all. I have received repeated harassing phone calls text messages and emails from this studio trying to bully me into paying for something I never used. This is so disappointing as i was going to go back to this studio. I would recommend another studio with Honest billing polices this place is predatory
