I LOVE Barre District! I've taken at many barre studios, and Barre District is by far my favorite! Reasons you will LOVE Barre District too: - Welcoming atmosphere and cozy space The first time I walked into the studio I met Christina and Danielle. They took the time to show me around the studio, find me a spot in class where I would feel comfortable, and let me know about all of the cool products/events that are in the studio (more on this below). -Your first class is FREE! You have nothing to lose except the anxiety you've been carrying around...I always feel much more relaxed and ready to take on my day after class. Don't forget to ask about new client specials! They will hook you up. - You will get a SERIOUS WORKOUT I'm usually sore for a few days after each workout...but sore in a good way. -Stretch/cool down breaks I love the structure of the traditional barre class. It's divided into 3 sections: Upper body, lower body, core. In between each section there is a guided stretch. This helps me to focus and push harder in the next workout section. - Class variety Barre (traditional barrie- basic ballet positions mixed with pilates and yoga), Barrie Fight (tabata), Barre Base (lower body focus, great if you want to fit in a quick workout) - Free Childcare This is HUGE! (kids district is available with specific classes) - Local Small Business Involvement They partner with many other local businesses and showcase their products throughout the studio. For example: A chef comes to the studio to prep a bunch of healthy meals that can be purchased. Talk about convenient and healthy food choices! -Motivation and Fun Parties They host challenges to encouraged clients to be consistent in taking class. I have never committed to any fitness classes before because I usually feel out of place. I finally found a place that help me with my healthy lifestyle goals. I started going to Barre District Tosa on July and I have never stopped since their grand opening. I actually workout on the weekend and I am excited about it!! This is something I probably would never imagine saying in my lifetime. The classes everyday are different and challenging. I am very close to doing a full on split and I also noticed that my posture has improved. The studio is well decorated. There is a lounge area for you to chill in before your class. This helps if you have 2 or 3 classes in a row. There is also a kitchen and playroom for kids during classes that provide a sitter. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. I like that they help with your form, but they are not pushy. They also come up with different activities that encourage their customers to challenge themselves at barre. We just finished completed the 21 days of habit and now we are starting a bingo game. Check out there FB page for more info. There are 4 different classes. Some classes offer child care. Barre Fight is an hour long of Tabata workout with weights which works out arms, legs, back and everything. Barre base is a good cardio that focuses mostly on the lower extremities workout with some ab workout. It's a 30 minute class, but this class definitely gets your heart pumping. Barre is a good stretching/moderate exercise on the barre that works all muscles without knowing. I love the stretching and cool down section. Finally, they also offer one charity class a month for free and it's usually in their Bay View location. As a Barre District member, you can go to both locations. read more

I am in love with the Barre District workout and staff!! I am overweight and as out of shape as they come. After three kids (and the extra pounds that come with pregnancies and an inactive lifestyle), a busy career, and not making time to care of myself physically, I needed to find a sport or activity that I would love and help get me back into shape. I attended my first Barre class three weeks ago and was pleased when I walked into the studio that there were women with all different body types and levels of activity. The instructor was so encouraging to all of us in the class and kept telling us to take a break if we needed to and go at our own pace. She explained and demonstrated each move so thoroughly, which helped me finish my first workout. I was sore after my first workout, but was able to walk out of class on my own two feet with a sense of accomplishment and joy. For the first time in 10 years, I am excited to workout. I've been attending 3-4 classes each week and can't wait for the next workout - which no two workouts are exactly the same. In a short amount of time, my body feels stronger, more flexible and a little leaner, but more importantly I'm having fun and I have so much energy all day long. I encourage you to give Barre District a chance. The staff made me feel so safe (no judging allowed) and encouraged my to go at my own pace but also encouraged me to give it my all. read more

5 big shiny stars for the facility and 5 brighter stars for the staff! I would consider myself a competitive runner, but because I didn't listen to my body came several injuries. With that being said I continued to run through the injuries. My body finally screamed loud and clear...I had no choice but to decrease my weekly mileage. Running is everything to me and I couldn't imagine my daily routine without it until...BARRE! I was told that Barre would not only give me a good workout but would help strengthen areas that were injured. I won't lie...it took me a long time to be convinced. I finally caved and gave it a try. Wow...and I mean WOW! I thought I was in pretty good shape, but this took my workout to another level. The only downside of my first barre class is that they didn't offer me a ride home!!! My body was pushed and that's exactly what I wanted. I'm now hooked and I want to tell EVERYONE about it. I took Christina's class so if you're looking for someone to push you and make you laugh at the same time...I found her for you! I've been to classes at the Bayview and the new Tosa location. You can't go wrong with Barre District. Love everything about it. They treat everyone with such warmth. I couldn't be happier to have such an amazing lifestyle studio in my community. The best decision I made was attending my first class at Barre District. Having a background in dance, but being horribly out of shape, I was intrigued by barre classes. I'd always been a little intimidated by group fitness classes full of women, but one day I just said "screw it!" and I attended my first (FREE!) class. I expected a tough, full-body workout, and I got it! But what I DIDN'T expect was such a warm, welcoming, judgement-free, and encouraging group of women. The owners, Nikki and Christina, will know your name the second you walk in the door and can always be found chatting with clients. I can talk all about the physical results I've experienced from barre classes (because they're there!), but it's so much more than that. It's a lifestyle studio. More importantly, I've gained confidence, I've found a workout that I look forward to doing, and I've gained some amazing friends. And, yeah, the first class is always free :) read more

I am a barre district addict. I haven't found a workout class that fits into my life better. I crave the feeling of muscle exhaustion now. I see results that I've never seen even when I was devoted to daily running. My core is the strongest it's ever been and I have dropped two pant sizes in 8weeks! The instructors are passionate and friendly! The studio is awesome and though I don't need it quite yet, they offer child care during popular class times. read more

Barre Milwaukee offers a lot of different classes including classic barre, barre express, strength training, yoga, mat Pilates, tabata, core, and even personal training. Each instructor has their own unique style so you'll never get bored! One of the best things about this studio is the warm and welcoming community. I never feel like just another client.
