Pure Barre Broomfield
Jennifer B.

Great little studio - though Pure Barres around the country all pretty much look the same (why those darn spotlights?) but it's the people who make it really special & Broomfield's crew is outstanding. While visiting the Denver area, I took 2 classes back to back - one with the delightful owner. Both classes were different and very challenging. You will shake and you will get results. If you want to try it out, definitely take advantage of any one-month package deals or trial week that they offer. Pure Barre is expensive (same pricing all around the country) but for flexibility and toning butt and thighs, you will not find a better workout than barre. My experience (taking classes at different Barre studios around the country) is that you are not going to get enough arm work to produce real tone & definition with 2-3# weights - you will be stronger and more sleek, but you will not be "cut" in the slightest. I work out at a small private studio in my hometown (ATL) and they include barre among other disciplines - yoga, weight training, calisthenics etc. and I do get the tone & definition I like to see. But for a good, hard workout with a bunch of nice people, Pure Barre is a great alternative.

The instructors and especially Carrie (who owns the studio) are super sweet and endlessly helpful.

I've been going to Uncommon Practice for 6 months now. I was told pilates was going to change my…read morelife but I didn't realize how big of an impact it would actually have. Being able to do things without pain has been so amazing. I went on a trip and knew that I wouldn't have been able to do a lot of the things I did without Pilates. I have flat feet and an extra bone in one foot. My whole body is misaligned because of it and I have had several injuries that are exacerbated by the severe pronation. Working out has always been difficult, pulling muscles easily, spraining my ankles constantly, and knees slipping out of place with barely any force. Pilates has made it possible for me to strengthen, align, and improve every part of my body, allowing me to live a more functional life, all while in grippy ankle socks. I can't wait to see how the next six months go! The instructors are really nice as well and the community is amazing. Emily, I know it's early for a review. Im just obsessed and wanted to make your morning! Cheers!

Through a few private lessons with Greyce (who introduced me to the whole concept) I'm constantly looking forward to more reformer sessions and potentially group classes. Terrell is the only good teacher at this studio. I don't know if she owns this franchise or not…read more but if she does, she needs to pay more attention to who she hires. I have an unlimited "passport" membership which means I can go to any Club Pilates in the country. I live in Fort Worth and the Club I go to is unusually amazing. The instructors are excellent! engaged, well trained, detailed in their instruction and their classes are varied. Meaning they use the reformers, the chairs, the TRX, and the boxes. Multiple instructors have a cult following. The instructors pride themselves on being creative, varied, knowledgeable, and making the classes so enticing that all classes are full. But my daughter and her family live in Arvada and we visit frequently. The Wadsworth location is most convenient for me. But going forward, regardless of the long drive, I will go to Boulder where the classes are better. The Arvada studio has instructors who are the absolute opposite of my home studio. The instructors are disinterested, not engaged, boring, not creative, burned out, giving the vibe that they just want the class to end. And it is obvious. They are just going through the motions and doing the least amount they can to just finish. It is so much of a drag that you never want to go back. Think monotone, basic, instruction if there is any instruction at all. Many "instructors" ( if you want to call them that) will just do mundane, routine moves on the reformers and only the reformers. There is no effort to use other equipment or mix up the routines. And it is obvious they are bored themselves. There is absolutely no enthusiasm to speak of.

The studio is large and clean and they have a ton of equipment. Workout was good and staff was…read morefriendly. Seemed like a bit too much small talk/side convo for me at 6am but that's just me and my preference. Large shared parking lot so parking shouldn't be an issue.
