If the music slaps, the workout is so much better. Every class leaves me sore in the best way, feeling like a total boss, and already plotting my next visit. I'm almost at 50 classes and it doesn't get easier. I'm always pushing myself to amplify, and let me tell you -- it makes it easier if you strength train, but it's still hard AF when you actually have to slow down and have mind muscle connection. Classes do fill up pretty quickly so you have to get it in there to schedule as soon as they open up. Try it for a great workout or an addition to your weekly rotation. The class was at 8:15pm on a Friday; we did the Signature50: Full Body, which I believe was a more advanced class. Although it was a good workout, it was hard. The instructor was nice and guided people as needed. The music was great and on point, but we couldn't hear her over the loud music. Also, she had us move to the middle reformer machines, I would have felt more comfortable at the end. This is truly a great workout and targets muscles with smaller movements that compound workouts miss. Upon signing up for the class, an email and text message are sent with information, including the code to enter. They also mention that there are charges if canceling or no-showing. They have solidcore merchandise available for purchase with the card on file. They also provide items such as hair ties, bobby pins, hear buds (if the music is too loud), etc. The customer service is average, there was one person at the front and she wasn't very engaging. The business is located on the lower level of a larger building. There is free parking in front of and around the business. There is also a parking garage with some free parking (check the signs!). It NEVER smells like gym socks and they have a great assortment of equipment. In length: I came to Anytime Fitness with a slew of physical health issues, bad back, bad knees, bad shoulder, bad put in a body part that you could potentially break and it's likely on my list. I was nervous starting a gym membership for that reason. Knowing that, the team at Anytime have been incredibly supportive and helpful respecting the time it's taken me to reach my physical fitness goals. The gym is always clean. There's rarely a time when the machine you want to use isn't available. I also haven't met a person at the gym who I haven't liked or felt was friendly and kind. My trainer, Joseph, is bar none, the best trainer I've ever had the pleasure to work with. He's taken the time to not only get to know my physical limits and needs to reach my fitness goals, but me as a person. He's known when to push me and when I need a break. In 6 weeks, I lost 2 pounds of fat and gained 4 pounds of muscle. My BMI dropped 3%. I owe that progress to Joseph and his dedication in helping me get where I've always wanted to be with my physical health. In sum, go. Go and get it going. Get yourself into shape or stay in shape and do it with the help and guidance of an amazing crew of people and in an insanely, NOT SMELLY, clean gym with boat loads of equipment.

Some of the staff were not polite, respectful, or supportive--instead, they were often judgmental. During my time there, I ended up getting injured, which ultimately required surgery. After that, I decided to discontinue my membership. I reached out by email several times asking them to stop billing me and to credit the months I could not attend. Despite my repeated attempts, they never responded, never called me back, and continued charging me for five months while I wasn't attending. This lack of professionalism and care, both in how they treat members and in how they handle serious concerns, was extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, I strongly do not recommend anyone to join this gym.

Cool studio and location…read more Initially, I did not like the layout of the studio. The fact that parking needs to be validated each time (I'm assuming) wastes unnecessary time, especially when you're already running late. The Reston location grows on you after a few times. I know someone for whom this is their home studio. Parking -- The first time I came here; no one informed me where to park so I went to Metro garage parking and paid about 10$. Waste of money. After class, I was then informed I can use either the PenFed outdoor parking or Aperture parking garage, the latter of which needs to be validated. I have been using PenFed for a while, it's free parking thankfully. Now they say don't use PenFed, only use the covered parking garage, and have it validated at the front desk. It's an inconvenience, sure, and it wastes time but the upside is that it is free parking at least. Equipment -- The main plus points for me are the more modern and up to date equipment in the studio. For example, treadmills have bigger buttons and screen, and rowers feel a bit more reactive. However, a minus is that some quick buttons are missing -- for example, I like to go AO at speed of 11, but for buttons there is only 10 and next is 12. There is no 11. I might need to change my speed, but this is inconvenient and overall I preferred it when the quick action buttons were on the right, IIRC I could easily hit 11 that way to get to my AO speed. But, I'll give it a pass as overall it is slightly better than other studios. Studio and Experience -- I like the layout of the studio though it takes a while, and the front desk people are largely pleasant and easy enough to get along with. However, I struggle with forming social connections with the other members, and usually it's incredibly hard for me to even get one word out. I really would like to make at least one acquaintance so I will redouble my efforts, but I find it very challenging and I'm not sure why OTF promotes this kind of mentality in its members, as it's rather off-putting. All in all, I struggle to get along with other members, but the studio is good, has solid enough equipment apart from few minor gripes, and the coaches and front desk are friendly enough. I wouldn't mind revisiting this studio again.

It's a fun class but at the same time it feels like an individual workout. If a particular exercise was too hard for me, there's no judgement when I modified it. (Hard pass on Burpies) The coaches were supportive, encouraging, and focused on helping you push yourself. They were all friendly, fun, and cared to know me as a person more than just a member. With the variety of coaches, you will find a coach that matches your style and needs. I found all of them great! (Thank you Nick, Lori, Tori, Jeffrey, Joelle and Sam!!!!) The workout combinations made me focus on punches rather than other life stresses. (It's hard to think about work when my brain is thinking 'jab, uppercut, slip, hook, hook' on repeat). I loved that my kids saw me grow stronger and healthier while there. They saw me and the female coaches as roll models for strength and power. I've become more confident, fitness focused, less stressed, powerful and skinner! To anyone considering joining- Do it! I logged into my account and realized that my previous class package was grandfathered in and I still had classes to use! Since I don't like to waste things, I've decided to use them up at this location since it's closer to home. I'm a big fan of their Hot Power Fusion (think low intensity poses in 100+ degree heat and high humidity) and Yoga Sculpt classes (high intensity yoga mixed with strength training and weights). Most instructors have been great at cueing and some playlists are better than others but either way, I'm getting a good workout in so I can't complain too much. They also offer C1 which is a beginner/intro to yoga class as well as C2 which is an intermediate to advanced yoga class (think inversions and more fast paced flows!). You can pre-book your class through their app or online to guarantee your spot. However, I would recommend coming into the studio at least 10-15 minutes beforehand because depending on what class it is, it can get pretty packed and you want ample time to setup your space and get a good spot. They have mats for rental as well as boxed water for purchase in case you forget your water. Although I've learned how to workout independently, I do miss the sense of community in a live class as well! This location is in Fairfax Corner near the Potbelly. You'll have to enter through the double doors and go upstairs to the studio.
