Located on the 3rd floor, Flow Yoga is a small intimate yoga studio. Walk up an additional set of stairs to the lobby (check-in, apparel, yoga mats available for purchase, shoe cubby bench to store belongings). Until today, I have been…read moreextremely happy with my 12 month unlimited membership, however, it all changed today for me. I was informed late last week that one of my medications has a severe side effect; heat stroke. Due to the severity of this side effect with my medication that is essential, I sent an email to the yoga studio which included my doctor's medical advice via email. The email states from my doctor that I cannot be outside or participate in activities over a certain temperature. Unfortunately , this also includes heated yoga from what she told me during my last visit. With this new news, I emailed Lori from Five Peaks Yoga about cancelling my 12 month contract. This was her response today via email: "The 12 month contract is a commitment without exclusions, however, i do have some options built into the contract that may be helpful. If you would like to use the cost of your family membership towards private sessions (our Purcellville studio has a room that is below 85), we can work together to make that happen. Another option is to transfer your membership towards someone you know who may want to take over your contract phase." I'm sorry, but both options do not work. Purcellville is far from where we live and I do not have family local to the state to even consider having them take over my contract. Let alone, anyone that lives near this yoga studio to take over the contract. I now know the studio is more focused on making money instead of member's health being the top priority. Is that one of the basic yoga principles? It's surreal that a yoga studio would tell me that I cannot cancel my membership due to a medical condition with a letter attached directly from my doctor; advising me not to participate. Most gyms and yoga studios that I have visited urge participants to follow the advise of their medical practitioners. The two "options," are not options that are helpful or help me in this situation. Why would a yoga studio want to have a person with serious known side effects due to daily medication, to participate in activities that clearly could result in adverse long lasting effects or death? I plan to share this complaint everywhere! This is bad practice for a small business. Especially one dedicated to health, wellness and advocacy of one's being. Including the Better Business Bureau. I will never again rave about Five Peaks Yoga or recommend anyone to this small business. Thank you disregarding my health and making money your ultimate priority.

They offer a variety of classes and there are several different instructors. I think I've taken at least 1 class from each instructor and they are all wonderful in their differences. My favorite class is 26 and 2/Bikram, and I really enjoy Yogi Robin. She has a way of keeping you from thinking too much about how hard it is to hold a pose, even if it's only for 1 minute. She's an excellent storyteller who encourages experienced students to perfect a pose and equally guides those who are just getting started in their practice.

I love that they have a mix of different classes and all of the teachers are fantastic! I love that each teacher have their own unique style. They offer various times through out the day and they have the best package deals! It's a little community here and I've met awesome friends. My favorite classes are 6 am yoga with Phyllis, 6 pm bikram with Lukas, 10 am Pilates with David, and Saturday Bikram with Fatima. All the classes are truly great though.
