TPY is the best studio I have been to in the area. It's small and intimate and welcoming to anyone- new to the practice and those continuing practice. They welcomed me with open arms my first night I tried one of their classes. They greet everyone with kindness and respect no mattwe what level you're at, and give various options throughout practice for those who don't feel comfortable doing "advanced" poses, which is great! They are extremely clean and fully stocked with equipment. They provide extra jade yoga mats for those who don't have one, as well as provide blocks, straps, and cleaning supplies for the mats and other equipment at the end of practice. I love that they diffuse oils throughout practice as well. They also provide a cold towel that is soaked in essential oils at the end of heated vinyasa, which is my personal favorite! :) I'm so glad I found this place after I moved down here from NY... I didn't think I would find "my studio" again! read more

I have been going to TPY for almost 2 years and it has changed my life! My favorite is Liba on Saturday or Sunday am for the 90 minute classes. I love the sense of community and her commitment to our well being. All of the teachers are great. Most of the people I meet there are really nice. It's always a great workout even the Power Hour when I can get to it. read more

Today was my first yoga class here and I will certainly be back! I moved to Virginia last year and tried various yoga studios. None of the studios I tried were actual yoga. I attended a lot of vey beginner classes at studios where they only offered level 1 and a lot of studios where there are other classes like barre and TRX. I found many of the studios to be far too noisy, crowded, and unfocused. I could not have had a more different experience at Transform Power Yoga. I was nervous to attend because I have not practiced consistently for quite a while, but the environment was totally non judgmental. The class was not beginner level, which was nice, but it also could have been approachable for someone new. The instructor, Susie was excellent. She gave helpful hints that refreshed my memory and provided a zen and calming atmosphere. It was also a hot yoga class, which was amazing. The room was 95 degrees the entire time, and it was amazing. I could not have been more thrilled about the outcome of this class and I will definitely be back. read more

I've been coming to TPY for a couple of months now and so far really love it. I have already grown a lot more as a yogi in this short time than I did in years of practice. I honestly LOVE getting my @SS kicked every single class - which they are awesome at accomplishing! The *only* thing I wish was different was that there was also a more relaxing yoga class. I still need the slower, quieter, deeper vinyasa that is not Power - so if that's your thing, this is not it. I have tried the Zen class which was great and deep, but not what I was seeking. Overall, I'm just really excited to see how far TPY takes me and the changes I'll make here! read more

The classes were ok. And the heat was great, but a little noisy . I enjoy Cherel's class and lot. She had a great voice and projected it well. I did not enjoy the class on my 2nd day. The teacher seem a little lost and her voice was very low and confusing . Took a yin class on my final day. The teacher was very confusing and seem to not know the poses. Her music was very relaxing , however her phone kept ringing. All in all when I come back to VA I'll still practice in that space which is very nice and clean. read more

I've been a member of TPY for a few months now and have grown a lot in the practice. Originally I started to help with marathon training, but continued even after I completed the race. It's a clean studio and friendly staff... Non judgemental atmosphere. All ages and levels are welcome. The instructors are all very inspiring and each one has something different to offer. I take classes with mostly all of them to mix things up a bit. They're all willing to stay and help with whatever you need as well. 5 stars from me :) read more

TPY is the BEST yoga studio in the area. No matter your level of yoga practice or fitness level, the amazing instructors make their classes accessible to all. Prior to practicing at this studio, I was a little nervous to call for info about the studio, as some yoga studios come off as "pretentious." I was so pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with kindness, respect, and genuine excitement at the idea of a new practitioner in the studio! :) The studio is clean and well-equipped. They provide really great Jade mats if you don't have one, as well as blocks and straps. The bathrooms have shower stalls and towels if you choose to shower after your practice. Something I love about TPY is that they have done a great job making each practice a great workout without it seeming "gym-like." There is no music, which I love, as it helps me focus on my practice, and all of the instructors do a fantastic job leading us through the practice. I am so glad I found this place, and I will continue to practice here! read more

What a great studio! The staff is friendly, accepting, and super competent! Their hot yoga room is the best in the area and very well done! The staff is wonderful and the instruction is first class and professional! They have great rates and are located near AKT Nourish so you can get a green smoothie after class.
