How she was…read moreable to maintain that level of energy at 7am on a Monday morning is beyond me, but I definitely appreciated her enthusiasm! I don't think barre class itself is for me. I like more active workouts-- running, weights, skiing, biking, boxing-- and barre felt very passive to me. The isometric exercises and tiny movements didn't make me feel like I was truly strengthening anything, and some of the exercises seemed to put a lot of stress on the ankles/hip flexors (although I'm not super flexible, so that may be part of the issue!) I've heard great things about their cardio kickboxing class, Brawl, but according to their website there's a waitlist for all upcoming classes. I'll be keeping an eye on it-- I might have to try it out.

Barre class with her was also great! I really liked her choreography. Barre session with a different instructor did not feel so great in terms of choreography. The people who work at the studio are friendly. However, the barre room itself may feel like a dungeon until you get used to it. Regardless, I would recommend to give barre code a try!

Firstly, these workouts are not a joke - they're tough! But the professionals who teach there are so amazing at helping everyone adapt to their body's needs. Some days you can push to the edge and some days you can't - you will be challenged at barre3 but never made to feel embarrassed or weak if you need a break or need to modify the flow. Secondly, the space is a major reason I continue with this particular studio, even driving from Pittsburgh for a bit to get there. It's open and inviting with loads of natural light! I looooove that. They have everything you'll need - clean towels, all the equipment, plus toiletries and showers etc. Lastly, each class ends with guided breathe work - just five minutes with the music soft and the lights off learning a breathing exercise to end the class. I can't tell you how many times this place, the people there and the workouts have lifted me out of some darkness. Specifically, the owner Katie, is hilarious and you can't be around her without feeling better afterward. Five hundred stars barre3!

I push myself to do every rep even when my muscles have had it, and I am only slightly sore the next day and completely recovered by day 2. The session always ends with adequate stretches to the muscles used most. I see a change in my body after just 2 weeks and I feel amazing. They change up every class so you never know what you're gonna get and you never get bored. Every instructor I have had so far has been a real pro. I highly recommend this to anyone who is generally physically healthy and wants to improve muscle tone and flexibility.

With a variety of 3 different barre classes, pure barre is a workout for everyone of all ages. Some are in their teens while other superstars are in their 70s. Pure barre is the only workout I have stuck with for so long. At over 800 classes, I can testify it works! I am a better more confident version of myself since coming here. What do I love about purr barre? Well, the workouts are great and exciting. I love switching it up between classic, empower and reform. It is always a challenge. They have some of the best playlists and lets not forget about all of the awesome retail. The instructors and desk workers are fantastic. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Each and every class, the instructor walks around the room multiple times to correct your form to make sure you are getting the very best of your workout they encourage you to drop your seat a little lower or make your heels a little higher. They call everyone by name, which I love. Class times are offered every day, almost all day, making it super convenient for anyones schedule. As for the others who attend these classes, they are truly wonderful. I have made so many friends since coming to pure barre. It is a community of amazing women. Thinking about giving it a shot?
