She has helped me refine my form and technique, so much that I've seen great improvements in not only my mat work but in my everyday life. I am much more aware of my posture, such as how I stand and the position my shoulders are in - the little things that matter so much ! If you're looking for a fantastic Pilates instructor, I highly recommend Aubrey !!

I am relatively new to Pittsburgh and was cautious and particular when seeking out a Pilates studio…read morespecifically downtown. My Pilates instructor in Las Vegas asked a few fellow former NYC Rockettes she knew that live in the Pittsburgh area on where I should go downtown for Pilates and both said MOXIE. Although there are group class options at MOXIE, I personally only take private instruction. As such, I was very glad to find myself working with Aubrey at Moxie (owner and instructor). She is the real deal on "classic" Pilates instruction. Having worked with her now for several months, I know I am in great hands. Despite having done Pilates for many years and maybe having done more advanced contemporary instruction for the last many years, I feel as if Aubrey has brought me back to the basics and I am getting stronger and better by concentrating on the fine details of form that many miss in the basics or forget after many years. She keeps it fresh, is fun and is great with the minute details of verbal queuing. Aubrey is good at her craft, continues to further her expertise and skills through continued instruction herself and has a genuine interest in my overall wellness. I would happily refer Aubrey and MOXIE to anyone who is interested in Pilates. Moxie has several instructors and class options available. The studio is located directly above Nola in Market Square downtown.

They motivate you during class and push you to keep going. Class times are flexible and can be made to work around any schedule. The workouts themselves are different than any other I have done. The lights go down, the music goes up, and you go nonstop for 50 minutes. You slowly work and push until your muscles literally fail. Really hope the studio can open back up soon! The only negative review on here makes absolutely no sense. The music level is on par with any other workout class. Regarding the lights, if you think the lights are too dark to see what you are doing, you should probably not be operating a vehicle to get there, because you need your vision checked. The max class size is 12, and they are often smaller. Unless you want a private class (which they offer), I am not really sure how you could get more of a personalized experience. The machine is not difficult to use at all. As for getting into the studio, you receive the door code to enter the place when you sign up, so that is literally never an issue.
