Loroco and spinach pupusas

I've eaten a lot of pupusas around Greater LA even in Palm Springs to Palmdale. These pupusas are among the best I have tried. It's not too doughy with the right amount of filling. The outside is dry and slightly crisp to the touch. Some places are oily and the pupusas are more dough than filling. I prefer the vegetarian pupusas and loved my spinach and loroco pupusas. The service is warm and friendly even if they don't speak English. If you're curious about Salvadorean style horchata and feeling adventurous, give it a try as it's different than the Mexican version.

DELICIOUS

The food was delicious and home made, good service too. The bean and cheese pupusas were so soft. Will definitely come back.

If you're looking for delicious, authentic, Salvadorean food, go right in. This is not a fancy place where you'll be treated like royalty, it's a mom & pop shop that's very in touch with their roots, as evidence by the decor. Yes, like any mom & pop shop they are understaffed, but thankfully in my experiences (yes, plural, I returned shortly after) the staff has been cordial. On my first trip I ordered pupusas: revueltas and queso con frijol, and it was delicious. I'm very picky when it comes to pupusas and these were definitely my cup of tea! They're not super greasy on the outside and then greasy again on the inside. They're a bit greasy on the inside because of the chicharron, but on the outside, it's not overcooked, just the way I like it. I also bought yuca frita with chicharron and asked for the yuca to be "bien frita" (very fried) and it was just perfect! The second time I went was because I really wanted to try the platter my mother bought since it looked delicious, platanos fritos con frijol y crema. (Plantains with beans and cream). My God, it was everything! They hand pick the sweetest plantains and as anyone that eats this dish knows, it can go south quickly if the plantain is too tender or too ripe. Nope! It was perfection. I also got cheese pupusas. I have a tender stomach and I have to be careful with the cheese pupusas because the cheese can be too heavy and I end up with an upset stomach. Nope, they do quality, authentic style cheese and it was scrumptious. I did not feel ill afterwards. Drinks: Horchata and tamarindo were okay (I'm Mexican so I prefer Mexican style horchata and tamarindo), but my daughter loved the horchata. I got the cola champagne and some water. This has become my go to place for pupusas! I recommend!

Really good pupusas of Loroco and Jalapeño. The service was quick. Not too badly packed; found a table immediately.

Service is always on point but the FOOD. man. They have something for everyone. breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. They have food from all over South America... its hard to pick a favorite. I mean I guess you'd assume that pupusas are their bread and butter and you wouldn't be wrong.... but everything is good. I love their tamles, their atole, lomo saltado, sopas, alfajores?!?!?! man. They even have simple meals that even kids would enjoy like your typical hamburgers and what not. I love their curtido that comes with the pupusas. not too tart, not too salty, perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and refreshing. Portions are always generous and filling. They do dine in, take out, and delivery. eat what you want, wherever you want. really the perfect choice for dinner or a quick lunch. or a snack. Super chill environment, plenty of parking... they really make it easy. I gotta try their whole fried fish dishes next time. Check them out and support a small business!

The bistec encebollado was good and tender but the meat had a lot of fat. It would have been nice if they trimmed it. It was served with white rice and beans. The pollo was good also. It was hubby's plate. He enjoyed it. I thought it was a little too salty for my taste but edible. Pupusas: mixed and queso con jalapeño. I enjoyed the mixed one. It had more flavor. The other tasted like pure cheese. The size was decent and good curtido and salsa. Overall maybe would consider coming back. A little pricey. Most plates started at $20. Plenty of parking.

We always come here but sadly things changed. The food is still good,…read more the chicharrón is overcooked and stale. Ambience is still good. Service: sadly very disappointing. I was a waitress and didn't throw dishes, menus and utensils to the customers ( running to bring things, making a noise by putting the dishes on the table and rushing to leave the table). They bring appetizers with no extra plates to serve. Missing orders so what's the point of rushing us to order when they don't bring the items. Asking all the time what is needed on the table which items needed are common sense/ routine to serve a table. Waitress talking to customers over other tables... I like to tip service above 30% but sadly I didn't feel it this time. If you are new I will understand if you kindly let the customers know ahead of time. With all being said, this was not acceptable customer service. I will continue supporting our Salvadoreans Restaurants but please improve the service. Life is tough, living costs is high, we are still eating out and supporting our Salvadoreans Restaurants fellows, be thankful that you waitress have a job. Many are unemployed and wishing to have a job. I really understand customer service and serving are not easy tasks. Each day is a new beginning hope tomorrow customers will be delighted for your service.

I let it go the first time when they got my order wrong and the tamales de pisque were super salty. Anyone can have an off day. The second time they got my order wrong again, but it was late and I didn't have the energy to make a fuss. However, tonight, they gave me the wrong pupusas and the platanos were burned. When I called back and politely let them know, the young lady on the phone seemed to be annoyed that I brought it up and dismissively told me to bring the food back. No basic courtesy, like we apologize for the inconvenience. When I got to the restaurant she rolled her eyes and took the food back in cold silence. The manager came out and again, no apology. I don't expect much, just basic recognition and common courtesy. I will not be eating here again and I caution you, that they do not value and respect customers enough to provide basic courtesy. **********+ Thank you, we appreciate your response and willingness to make things right. The only thing my wife and I ask is that you genuinely have a discussion with your employees and remind them that 99 percent of your customers are your neighbors, and we all want you to succeed. Here in Whittier, we have so many great dining options, so when we choose you, it means something. We will try again in a few months and we look forward to posting an update. Wishing you the very best. Sergio & Cristina
