As someone in the dog industry, I know what proper grooming looks like -- and my dog didn't get it here. His haircut was sloppy (uneven coat, nails and paw pads untouched), and he was left from 9-4 without water or a potty break. He came home desperately thirsty, peed excessively, still had eye crust, and didn't smell freshly bathed. I was promised a call when he was done but never got one. Instead, I had to call four times in a row before anyone answered about his untrimmed nails. While the staff member was kind and refunded me, that doesn't erase the neglect. The salon also reeked, had bird poop on the floor, and piles of dog hair behind the counter. Most positive reviews are years old -- I'll be posting photos to show the reality. I would never trust this place with my dog again. read more

Took my sweet dog, Sasha in as a walk-in to Puppy Paws Grooming and she had a very happy visit. It was a quick and very pleasant experience for both of us. The owner, Pat is very personable and easy to talk to. The dogs that had beautiful groomed cuts sat nicely and without a fuss to wait on their owners that had been notified! As I paid for the quick procedure done on my happy wiggly dog, I noticed the attendants were smiling and interacting with some of the other happy dogs. The air conditioning was perfect for of us inside the cute shop. It's a pleasure visiting the Local dog grooming shop Puppy Paws Grooming, because of the expertise service and rather than having to drive miles out of town it's local for me! Overall I find the experience greatly rewarding for me and my dog! read more

Great care of my dogs. Pat loves the puppies. Only reason a 4 is often does not get my dogs in n out. Her prices are reasonable though.

Her drop off time was 7:30-9am which worked for my husband to drop off and I was able to pick her up after 4:30. The office looks great and the entry is comforting. Her work area seen from the office was clean but not what I would expect from the other reviews who mentioned that they leave them there for boarding. The back was a large warehouse and she had pet creates of all sizes. There wasn't much back there though so I don't know that I would board there, but I will definitely be taking my pups there for grooming!!! She did an AMAZING job with my long hair chiweenie. I had requested to just trim her tail and do a lot to her feet, ears, legs, and hygiene area. She did an amazing job and the products that she uses are great. My girl smelt great for at least 4 days and she has been super soft for over a week. read more

When I called for an appointment, which was 9 am, I was expecting my pet to be done in a few hours. I wasn't called to pick him up until 1:45. I really don't like for him to be in a kennel that long. If I had been told this up front I wouldn't have left him. Cut was not great. Collar was not on correct and he escaped when we opened the car door because his collar came off. read more

Our town of Taylor has always had a hard time keeping good groomers. They stay awhile, then move on. But when Pat decided to move her operations from Hutto to Taylor 2 years ago, we hit the jackpot. Her credentials are impeccable and her service is excellent. She is cordial and polite but more importantly she listens to her clients. We have two dogs that need grooming frequently so she knows what our expectations are. She also has boarding services that, according to reputation, is run well and professionally maintained. Her location is housed in a vintage 1940's gas station that has been revamped and updated. I especially like the old advertising signs she has displayed on the walls. Very nostalgic and homey. Took my shipoo and dropped her off with a nice lady who said she would call me when she was finished. All day I never received a phone call. At 5:00 I called and I was told they were just getting to her, they close at 6:00. I got a call at 5:35 saying she was ready. When I went to pick her up a very young girl, I'm positive is not a certified groomer told me what a pain she was to give a bath to. Her hair was cut super uneven and you could tell the job was extremely rushed. I will NEVER go here again. Worst 45.00 I ever spent! read more

Pat, the owner and lead groomer, is such a friendly woman. She is always there in the morning to greet us and take the puppies from us. She does such a superb job grooming the two poodles we have. She puts bows on their ears, a little bandana around their necks, and she even paints Rose's nails. The puppies are always so excited to see her and always look so good when we pick them up. Went in to try the place to get our dogs groomed right when they opened at 8. The older lady at the front was very snippy, and the dogs outside that I assume were hers each looked very sick, there was diarrhea everywhere out there. We had left our dogs there for about four and a half hours and all they had done was bathe them both. All we had asked for was a trim around the face, nail clipping, and to shave their butts. We had heard very great things about this place and we were let down, needless to say we will never go back to this place. read more

I love Puppy Paws ! After using several groomers in north Austin, Puppy Paws was recommended to me about six months ago and I am now a regular. Pat the owner greets us with a smile and always remembers my Great Danes names when we walk in. She has a large fenced area inside where she keeps my girls. They have room to move around and lay down without being cramped in a crate. She does a great job on their nails and they come home smelling clean and fresh. They have very reasonable pricing. I loved this place. I got an appointment right away, check in was fast, the woman who groomed my dog owned the business. You can really tell when the owner is in touch with their customers. They put forth a lot more effort to do a good job, and take care of their customers. It was one of the best grooming jobs that I have had in awhile too. They have reasonable hours and prices. (closed on Sunday and Monday like most groom shops) I can't complain, because I had such a pleasant experience. I love the small business feel. I enjoy not being overlooked as a customer. My dogs are the babies of our household, so we expect the best for them. My Misen (pronounced MEE-SEN) is a cocker spaniel/poodle mix so his fur grows out super duper quickly and grooming is a big hassle. The past grooming experiences have been quite difficult, as he is unpredictable and likes to bite at the groomers. One groomer even had to stop halfway and call us because she couldn't finish him without being attacked :/ He also hates to be groomed by us, so we gave Puppy Paws a shot seeing the reviews and the smallness of the business looked like a good environment for our pup. From the moment we walked in and saw how friendly and inviting the staff and place was, including the fat cat roaming around (haha) we knew this place was gonna be great for our dogs. We've been taking our dogs here for a year now and are very pleased with their services, attitude, and prices! After every grooming, Misen trots out happy and smelling like a field of flowers. He always has a different bandana tied around his neck, which is such a nice touch, and he always looks great! We decided to extend to boarding, which is also something we were very nervous about considering our dogs have never stayed the night(s) outside of the house. Our chihuahua, Pickles, can be quite the meanie (doesn't bite but barks his head off like a typical annoying chihuahua does). However, after boarding them two times they came back great! I even sneaked a peek inside the warehouse and they were both inside a huge caged area on their doggie beds just chillin' together. Misen and Pickles even let Pat put on their collars and they didn't bark or nip at her like they normally would when people touch them/get near them. Keep up the good work!
