I had the pleasure of hanging around the Puppy House. The owners Chris and Andy are great people. The dogs are all very well taken care of and they get so much love from everyone. The glass aquarium that one lady spoke of is not an aquarium. Every cage has individual ventilation system. They are climate controlled. Its a safety measure to make sure that the puppies cant get cross contamination. In the time I was there, there was no sick puppies. All the puppies that come in are very healthy. I really enjoyed the time I spent there. I really enjoyed loving all the puppies and watching them go to great homes. I think people need to do the research before giving a negative review. read more

The owner doesn't communicate for the life of him, and the staff are no help when you need to get in contact for something important like a reimbursement. They sold me a dog with kennel cough and lied saying he had a checkup and shots, which he didn't. They do the absolute bare minimum for these dogs and then lie just to make a sale, which I thought was extremely dishonest. On top of that, the financing they use is through a third party called EasyPay. You cannot do the "minimum $100/month" like they tell you it's actually $207 biweekly. If you don't pay it off within three months, the interest rate skyrockets to 179%. To make matters worse, when I tried to get my reimbursement, they made me take down my review before they would issue it, claiming that writing a negative review "goes against their policy." They sold a dog for $3,000.00 to a teenager that had no place to take the dog to. Even though she asked the store to take it back within a few hours of the purchase, they refused to take the dog back. The dog has no loving family to go to, no place to stay. A store without a return policy and without making any attempt to ensure that the dog they sell to a naive teenager will have a place to stay should not be in business at all. Taking advantage of young naive kids is cruel. This business cares for a single thing and happy dogs and families are not that single thing. They care only for taking money from naive kids. There you can adopt puppies just as young and healthier than the inbred pups you see here, for a tenth of the price of even that. Do not support this type of business. The fact they don't accept returns speaks wonders. Best friends has a lifetime return policy, there is no reason they would never take an animal back if it doesn't work out for any reason. They said their dogs come from "all over the country." They are in glass pens for hours on end. I really wanted a job with animals so as soon as I was ready I applied to a bunch of places and got accepted to puppy house. I worked for 4 days and then quit. Why? 1: the puppies are from puppy mills. They make you tell a whole freakin lie about "free range breeders across the country" and sign an nda saying you can't tell their secrets blah blah blah. I never signed the NDA, because the owners are JUST that careless. It's sad because it's not the puppies fault. They deserve the best homes, and to get adopted right away but this place charges $ 3- 10,000 so a lot of them stay there for so long. 2: the puppies are never allowed outside, out of the cage, on the floor, and are never exercised! This is SO BAD for dogs. 3: when the puppies Get sick they don't take them to vet unless they are on the verge of death, and I mean not eating, not drinking, diarrhea, vomiting and fatigued. 4: they are left alone for 12 hours with no food or water at night. 5:they pay hardworking employees only $11 an hour, and don't pay overtime or commission! These vet techs work so hard and do the jobs that actual vets do! 6: all they do is lie lie lie no matter what!!! They tell you the pups are vet checked, they aren't. They tell you they can finance, but they don't say it's with 100% interest. 7: the dogs have health issues that not even the PH owners know about Cause they don't take them to the vet! 8: they are vaccinated, but the young puppies who cannot be vaxed get sick and die all the time! if you had a serious issue with the puppy house, just talk to local authorities and don't even bother going back into the store. If I could give this pathetic excuse of a business zero stars, I would. This place is absolute garbage; both in their customer service and their treatment of the puppies. There was a blonde lady who was beyond rude, condescending, and talked down to everyone she greeted. They didn't enforce any mask or social distancing, which could put both the puppies and the people in danger. There was a Sheba Ainu puppy there, and he was adorable. Except that he was missing a patch of fur on his neck, and looked sickly. He, and the rest of the puppies seemed lethargic; which anyone in their right mind would know is both upsetting and worrying. Puppies are playful, they jump around and get excited fairly easily. Not these ones- they were sick. Which brings me to my next point. Puppy mill puppies are taken from their mothers at four weeks which is too young and can lead to serious health problems. Mill pups can usually be identified in hair loss, apathetic behavior, and often temperament issues that result in these dogs bouncing from home to home because people can't handle them properly. Guess what the Puppy House puppies exhibited? If you guessed any of the symptoms above, you'd be correct. Paired with the fact that they lacked any kind of water or food in the little glass box they had them in, I'm utterly disgusted by this "company". Disappointment does not come close to describing the pure anger, and resentment I feel towards these people. Abusing their dogs and horrific customer service; how are these rats still in business? I walked by and noticed the same puppy that I had seen there in the same tiny glass box 2 months before. She was 8 weeks the first time, 16 weeks the second. She is a large breed dog and had about 2 feet to move. I went in just to pet her and the way she looked at me broke my heart. It kept me up all night. The next morning I decided I had to get her out of there. While there I asked many times about her health, and records etc. they kept assuring me she was healthy. They told me her parents were OFA tested but had to request that info. Actually every document I asked for they said they had to "request" my gut was telling me this was shady, but my heart said I couldn't leave that baby there. I asked many times if I could see how she played and interacted on the floor. They told me no, because people track diseases in on their shoes. I told them, I need to see that she can run around and play because I've only ever seen her lay there. They assured me she runs around and plays just fine, that she was just tired because of the time of day. I ended up carrying her out of there. As soon as I put her down at home, I noticed something was off about her back legs. They were turned outward and she couldn't walk very well. She was very unstable and kept tipping over. I immediately took her to the vet and he confirmed angular deformities in the hind legs. He told me she would have to go to a specialist and she would need a corrective surgery at about $5,000 per leg. I went straight back to puppy house and told them I wanted a refund, because now I'm going to have to pay for surgery for this poor dog. They told me no, of course. They smugly looked at her and said "she looks fine" "why didn't they do an X-ray?" I said, " it is clear as day her hind legs are not correct." I told them I wouldn't leave without a refund so they called the cops and had me trespassed from the store. There was ONE girl there that even cared about the puppy. She told me they lied about her running around and playing, because these dogs NEVER get exercise and NEVER go outside. She said she would probably get fired because anyone who agrees with a customer is fired. They did not give me a copy of the contract. They did not give me her AKC papers as promised. They lied about everything without any remorse. They have no heart and couldn't care less about these animals. read more

With my recent purchase about a month ago I feel this company wasn't completely honest and didn't disclose everything. Before purchasing I noticed my dogs private area looked kind of off. The lady ensured me everything was normal and I left it at that. As weeks went by the area got worse. On top of getting her spayed I now need to do surgery on her vulva. I also noticed her thumb nails had been declawed. When I messaged puppy house they said it was common practice to declaw to prevent injury in case puppy would snag itself. on top of all that I was told when purchasing the dog I would have to change microchip information through vet. My vet said they couldn't do that because they didn't leave me with the brand they used. I contacted puppy house who said I had to activate through them for $180 because the microchip was in their system. They said it was the most competitive pricing in town as vets in southern utah can charge 100+ for yearly subscriptions. I knew this was inaccurate since I just had my other dog microchipped for 70 for what they were offering. They weren't offering to give me the brand who they went through until I said I was going to ask around what my options were for this situation. I feel this whole situation with puppy house has been a headache and they are more concerned about making a buck. when I finally was able to call the microchip company they told me they only charge a one time fee of 69.99 which is way less than what puppy house had said.I will never recommend or go back to this place. WARNING: We purchased a puppy (Toy Australian Shepherd) on December 19, 2019 from Puppy House. The Puppy House employee said the puppy had been checked by a Veterinarian and that it was healthy and sound. So I signed their contract, financed the dog, and was out the door... As we were walking out the door with the dog in hand the same employee that had just told us that the dog was healthy, runs to the door and gives us a bottle of cough medicine saying that the dog HAS KENNEL COUGH (mind you, all of the dogs were put together and were rolling around with each other, which tells me that PUPPY HOUSE KNOWINGLY SELLS SICK DOGS), and it gets better, that the same VETERINARIAN that certified that the dog was healthy and strong, PRESCRIBED THE KENNEL COUGH MEDICINE!!!!!! My daughter was hysterical, because I tried to return the puppy, but THEY WOULD NOT TAKE THE DOG BACK!!!!!! That I signed a contract, and when I told them that I signed the contract under the false representation that the dog was healthy. I was told "buyer beware". So we left the store. Concerned that we now owned a very sick little puppy, I immediately took the dog to Wilson Veterinary Clinic in North Salt Lake, who confirmed that the dog had kennel cough, with two back "knees" that would need surgery just as soon as he stopped growing. I confirmed this diagnosis at Parrish Creek Veterinary Clinic in Centerville Utah. Both of these Veterinary Clinics are amazing, and I highly recommend them without any reservations. FAST FORWARD TO TODAY March 27, 2021: We are almost at the two year mark and the dog has stopped growing, and I took our Georgie to our home town Veterinarian here in La Crescenta CA, and received devastating news... Our hometown Vet called Georgie a "and also that our puppy was a "genetic nightmare" because he has two bad hips in addition to two bad knees, and the bones in his back legs are twisted and bowed. It went from being a $1600-$2000 surgery to being closer to $5000+ and we can only get the surgery done if we can find a Veterinary Orthopedic Surgeon who will agree to do the surgery. Our regular Vet was doubtful that we could find someone to do the surgery because of the severity of the defects. If we can't find someone willing to do the surgery, we are likely to have to amputate both of the back legs which will make him dependant on a "doggie cart wheelchair" for the rest of his life. We now love our Georgie dog, he is a family member, we will do everything that we can for him, but if I had a time machine, I have to admit that I would go back and stop myself from walking into Puppy House. We ordered a AKC white boxer from Puppy House. We got a call that she was in and had been cleared by their vet. we drove from Las Vegas to St George to pick her up when we arrived we found out that she was not AKC but ACA. they said they would file the AKC papers to get her dual registered. So the puppy was coughing and we were told their vet said it was allergies. We went ahead and paid 3100.00 total for her and by the time we got back to Vegas her cough was worse and more frequent we were told that there was only 15 day guarantee on their contract is paying up to 500.00 for medicine. we decided to take her in to our vet as an emergency, she was diagnosed with sever pneumonia, under weight by 10 pounds, struggling to breath, and a parrisite in her body. so far a 2000.00 vet bill she is in the hospital on oxygen, fluids, antibiotics and the vet dont know if she will make it. Puppy House now will not call us back, will not pay for the vet care and said they will communicate via email which we are still waiting for. The knew the puppy was sick and falsified that she was well. we requested a copy of the their vet report which we still have not gotten. they were suppose to also provide AKC papers and genetic testing report that we dont have yet either. Please they need to be fined for selling sick and almost dead dogs. We did send all the exrays, vet reports and estimate to them via email. which they requested. I will do whatever needs be to see that they never sell another sick puppy to anyone. They would not even discount her down since she was not AKC like i requested. Or pay for the vet bill...... After seeing horrible reviews after we bought our first puppy i just wonder what happened to this business and their caring. I have filed a complaint with the BBB of Utah also. There is quite a few BBB complaints only one got resolved. Others were ignored by the business. UPDATE, the pnuemonia she has has caused permanent bronchial problems and if her cough doesnt get any better she will have this for the rest of her life and can not be bred and that is one of the reasons we bought her. Buyer beware of bait and switch from this puppy farm Retailer!! Especially when financing.. This is the actual email sent to the retailer in response to what they did to us on Christmas of this year. I have cancer and ran into this when looking to buy a new support dog. "Thank you for your response but this is NOTHING like which was explained to me on the phone which is why Kendall went up there to begin with. The discount amount conveyed to me was $500 and she was only added to the purchase to increase the purchase amount by $500 to cover the purchase of the dog after discounts and not to be taken advantage of due to approval and a switch made by the consultant to switch from my initially approved lender. Note we were both to be on the contract and she is the only one on it. That was very clear over the phone. For your review, and actual knowledge, I was personally approved for $1800 and when contacted by your rep on the phone was told that I was close and am in luck because I would obtain discounts of $500 but needed to either add another to the loan to cover the $500 remaining difference or come up with $500 more. Initial price $2,895-$500=$2,395 which would be the $500 more the rep spoke to me about over the phone before what appeared as normal purchase adds. You show no discounts on the sales receipt and the following $2895 + $605 normal purchase adds totaling $3500. In addition, Kendall has taken on all of the debt which wasn't how it was to take place, for all guarantees and taxes, as you put it. Without question an absurd and reckless way to conduct business. Further, if any additional discounts were only available using a cash/card then why wasn't that ever brought up when we only spoke of financing and in particular 90 days same as cash? Did you catch that on the video behind the desk? Obviously, there is a communication issue within your group and understanding of policy. Further, perhaps you should invest in a recording device to also monitor conversations with your potential clients prior to purchase over the phone so they aren't taken advantage of by a bait a switch during the holidays. Just a thought cause bad news travels incredibly fast in today's day and age. The amount at a maximum should be as follows: $2,895 initial price of dog with mark up -$500 discount cause we were in luck according to the rep on the phone-not so much now. $2,395 sub total $3,000 total on 90 days same as cash I've been in upper management and ran numerous pet stores simultaneously. I know the industry and general processes all too well. So update on our puppy. She was diagnosed with a liver shunt. Wasn't eating. Had vomiting and diarrhea. After paying about $3,000 on vet bills we had to make the devastating decision to put her down after only having her for 4 weeks. We stopped by this place on our way to Vegas. My daughter fell in love with one of the puppies, but we couldn't do anything about it at the time. We called and was told we had to put a payment of $160 to hold the puppy. She did and then when we talked to them more the total for the puppy was almost $4,000 and she couldn't afford that. We tried to get her money back, but was told it was non refundable. They never told us that until after she paid. They won't give her her money back and said I could use it for store credit. They told me they recorded the conversation and so I asked them to send it to me. It's a landline and said I would need to come to the store to hear it. I don't have time to drive 5 hours. Me and my family just went to the puppy house. It was a terrible experience. Mind you we have been there before and we've never had any problems. Every time our 3 year old went to pet a puppy they would come up and get mad at us. One lady kept coming up telling us we were only allowed to hold one puppy at a time. (Which we respected) while we were holding one she came up and told us to put it away. Apparently you're only allowed to hold one puppy in the whole store. She was very bitchy.
