I made an appointment to have my dog groomed by Sierra at petco grooming, We talked with her for quite a long amount of time letting her know the limitations our Dog has, she has a bad back right leg, and can't stand for long on it, she told us that she loves to take dogs with problems because she said she really cares about her customers pets, she said it would be no problem for her to take our dog in for a grooming, so i scheduled an appointment for 2 months down the road, that day was today May 8th 2026, I had my dog there 15 min early just like the appointment card says to she was not there, so i waited for her when Sierra arrived she asked me what i wanted done and i told her she printed out the work order, but then she said she had to go talk to her manager to see if she could groom my dog, after about 15 min she came back and said she couldn't groom my dog because her manager said the dog had to be able to stand the whole time of the grooming and would not let her groom the dog, nothing like that was said when we made the appointment, you can't trust what Sierra says and the Manager should have at least had the Courtesy to come tell me in person, it was very bad CUSTOMER SERVICE or none at all. as you can see with a 1.9 rating poorly managed and staffed store you should go somewhere else or shop on line. read more

I bounce between PETCO and PETSMART (mailorder CHEWY and Amazon). Customer service, roblem solving easier at PETSMART. PETCO trys harder to make a situation right. This is when working against a computer that spews out incorrect information. Employees working against their system took two days to right the error. While a customer inconvenience they didn't give up. I have had better luck locating.products at PETSMART than PETCO. While PETCO started it all for big boxstores for Pets, PETSMART is giving them a run for their money. Second best always has to try harder to keep up. Competition is good and healthy. Unbelievably bad customer service! I bought a large bag of dog food for pick up. I am recovering from extensive neck surgery and cannot lift more than 10 pounds. I followed the pick up instructions on the app, notifying the store I was on my way and then when I had parked. After waiting for 15 minutes I notified the store again that I was there. Another 10 minutes later and I called the store. The person who answered the phone said "there's no record of your purchase, I'll bring it out to you." What the heck? Then 5 minutes later she calls me back and tells me she has my order at the door and I can come and get it! I said I thought she was supposed to bring it to my car. She tells me to get out of my car so she can see me. I do that (even though I'm parked directly in front of the door and she has my vehicle description) and she pushes the cart with my dog food towards my car from the door if the store and turns around to go back into the store! I call to her to ask if she is going to load it in my car for me since I cannot lift it because of my neck surgery and she tells me she can't do it because she's had a surgery and can't lift it. I ask her if there is someone else who can help and she starts to put the food in my car and then has the nerve to ask me if I can't lift it into my car now how am I going to get it out of my car! I have never experienced such poor customer service! Ever! I will never go to this Petco store again and will take every opportunity to make sure people know how awful the customer service is there. I would excuse this incident as just isolated with just one terrible employee but that terrible employee was hired by someone. How bad must that someone be to hire someone so awful?! read more

I had called a month in advance to get 2/4 dogs groomed. The morning of appointment one of the groomer canceled for being sick. We rescheduled for following week. I had left work early to take them in. 20 minutes before second is to be groomed they call again and cancel my other appointment. I accommodation them twice in one day, due to "family emergency". The second reschedule I was told to bring in my other dog when I bring in other at the same time. Day of appointments I had to ask for help taking in dogs at two separate times, due to lazy staff/communication they scheduled at separate times and not together. As previous original scheduling. Well one dogs gets there 5 minutes and was denied service and banned. 877 number is a joke too. read more

The Good: It doesn't appear that the building is infested.... That's all I have to say on the positive. The Bad: About a year ago all the groomers left. The new groomers are not skilled and do not perform as you would expect of a professional dog groomer. I have been disappointed the 3 times I have taken my dog in, this past year. I feel like 3 times was enough chances and will not be returning. The Ugly: My dog used to love to be groomed. I should have caught on sooner that she didn't now. Each time I've thought, "maybe I didn't communicate clearly with what I wanted" after my third visit I've decided the groomers (because even if you request the same one you won't get it) do whatever they feel like and unfortunately it hasn't ever ended up looking very good for my dog. The Pet Ramp was back ordered & they didn't know when they would be available. I was told I had to call Customer Service to cancel the order as they couldn't cancel it in the store. So I called and cancelled it on 1/12/25. I was told I would receive my refund in 5-7 days. it's been a month, and with talking with one of the supervisors "JOCEL" who confirmed they owe me $143.71, she has given me a hard time & won't issue my refund. I have emails saying they owe me the refund but still wont issue it to me. JOCEL has stopped returning my calls and Emails. I have been shopping at Petco for over 15 years. Shame on them for not giving me my refund!!!! I will no longer be shopping there. BE CAREFUL ordering online & trying to get a refund if you need to. My husband and I desperately needed to get our cat some medicine that was said to be at this location. We live about 20-25 mins away, we had 40 mins to get there before the store hours we're closed. We showed up 15 mins before the store was closed and the doors were locked. Sure, we could have called to see if they were still opened.. but why should you need to do that when the hours are supposed to be accurate that they advertise? One of the worst customer service experiences i've had ! Apparently Petco is not big on problem resolution. I bought as a birthday gift for my granddaughter a complete 20 gallon aquarium kit that was in a sealed box so I couldn't inspect inside. A few days later she opens my present only to find that one of the glass panels on the tank is cracked, bringing her to tears. I call Petco and after numerous holds I'm informed that since it's already left the store they can't do anything about it. I tried to get a futher explanation and plead my case , only to have repeated "hello" hello "are you there?" A technique I find that this clerk , learned from the manager ,since I called right back only to have it used on me again by her, after we already spoke long enough for her to know it was me again .... with my unresolved problem. I wasn't expecting a free tank... even a discount or credit .. or something! Just a simple we're sorry would have helped. I will never darken their stores doorway again!! On a side note, I highly recomend PetSmart in town, I went directly there and got friendly service and a another tank at half the price it was a Petco. Some companies deserve to die.... With A rare exception, this store has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Not once but repeatedly. Today after driving 14 miles to get Some crickets, They had none pre bagged ( Which I hate anyway, since they have started doing this the mortality rate is about 90% whence you get them home) though there was a Garbage can full of them, The Clark refused to bag Them for us. When question why, and even offering to bag them myself, Was told to leave the store..... My husband and I bought a dog hammock for our dog to sit in the backseat. We installed it as the instructions stated. There are 4 straps on it, one fastens around the drivers sid headrest, one fastens around the front passenger side headrest. The other two straps fasten around both backseat headrests, and then you tuck it in. We were taking our dog on a trip with us and he jumped into the car and got his neck stuck into one of the straps and twisted his neck real bad. We went back to petco and spoke with the manager about this and she basically accused us of installing the hammock wrong. We took the hammock and put it in the garbage dumpster. If you love your dog do not buy this hammock. read more

After a year and a half of bringing my dog here today was pathetic all I got was excuse after excuse and charged for them doing nothing to her. She came home with cuts on her legs and have no idea why since they didn't end up grooming her and kept her in a kennel for three and half hours for no reason. We recently moved back home to Saint George and scheduled an appointment for my 13 year old pug. Because we frequented a petco in Las Vegas the st George petco was very much aware of my dogs age and history, however, they booked him even though "they don't cut dogs older than 7". This was extremely shocking as my mother gets both of her dogs groomed monthly - one is 10 and the other also 13. Although this could be a new policy, they failed to tell me that they do not groom dogs older than 7 when I booked the appointment and also failed to call me. I drove 25 minutes from my home only to be turned away. The manager did offer a bath or to give my dog a haircut after she said she didn't know how he would react to her as a new groomer/being kenneled. I asked her to call the manager in Las Vegas as we have an ongoing appointment for my dog every 6 weeks but they also refused to do. Very disappointed as I have been a vital care member for almost a year. I do not recommend this Petco. read more

So I yelled, she had already anger walked away, if I can switch dog food. She startes "explaining why the dog food is in wrong" area. So I honestly told her, I didnt need to hear the explanation. I made an appointment to have our 6 Mo old puppy groomed. Petco advised me to bring proof of vaccinations with me. They did not specify what constituted proof. We are fostering this puppy from a local and reputable shelter. The owner of the shelter provides the shots and documents them with the official stamps. I showed this document to the groomers and they found it unacceptable. I was considerably inconvenienced by this, as they refused to take our puppy, and I had to miss an appointment in order to take her home. I have not been that impressed by this store, and am even so much more, now. Not going back! read more

The Good: They have a wide selection of products. They often have aquarium sales at $1 per gallon. The staff is friendly. The Bad: The lighting in the fish department is not as good as the rest of the store. This may be due to the darker color scheme. There is almost no one ever manning the fish department and they don't have a bell, so you will end up having to track someone down. The Ugly: The women's bathroom is sub-par. There is no working latch on the stall. The covers on the bottom panel of the fish tanks (where the filtration is housed) do not latch properly and fall off easily; my son was nearly injured twice. read more

I had to pull it up on the website and show them what they were. Then I was asking them other questions and they had to keep asking someone else... If you work at a pet store, you should know about pets, right? As I was walking out the door, empty handed, I was glad I didn't buy anything because I would have had to wait in a line because there was only one cashier on a Saturday! I recently bought a ball python from this Petco location and we have absolutely loved having her. However I couldn't get her to eat. A month went by and still nothing, so I went in to ask what I could do. I talked with Ken and he said if I brought her in he would do what he could to get her to eat. While we waited he gave me plenty of information on what I could do to help her and a good vet recommendation. 15 minutes later he goes in to check on her and she had eaten. She has eaten again a week later with no problem. He gave me some fresh mouse bedding for the smell and that seems to do the trick. I'm extremely disappointed with the Grooming Service at this Petco. I have been taking my dog here for over 2 years and have never had an incident. However, today, everything changed I will never frequent a Petco Grooming Salon again. It started last week, my scheduled appointment was cancelled due to one of their groomers being absent. This was fine, the manager I spoke to said he'd call me the next evening and reschedule the appointment and due to this inconvenience he'd provide the grooming at half price - that it would be documented in their system. Two days went by, no call from Petco. I called and rescheduled the grooming. When I arrived this afternoon, I mentioned, like I always do, that my dog has frequent ear infections that we treat at the local Veterinarian. He was ok, but he is sometimes sensitive with his right ear. This particular Petco has never had any problems with him. They usually tell me afterwards if he was somewhat sensitive, they do their best with his right ear but are not always able to fully wash and trim it. That's fine - this has been the cycle for the last 2+ years. Well, today I tell the groomer the same. She bends down, touches my dog's right ear, looks in side, he was quite alright with this. I then mentioned that the manager told me he would honor 1/2 price off for the grooming. She looked in her system, couldn't find the notes, so she said she'd have to go talk to her manager. He comes into the grooming department and tells me that they won't be able to groom my dog because of his ear. I told him this has never been a problem, that I've always been forthcoming of his sensitivity and he's never been a problem to them, that this Petco has groomed him forever, even in Mesa AZ where we lived previously. He was adamant that they would not be able to groom him. I asked why - he said that it was their policy and also the groomer was not comfortable. You mean the one that just looked inside his ear and he had no issues? This was completely bogus - I was speechless - my dog has never had any problems at this site. I left incredibly disappointed, so much so that this manager and groomer were not willing to even entertain grooming my dog who they could plainly see has been there several times in their system. I almost feel their issue wasn't the ear sensitivity, but rather honoring the 1/2 price agreement they made with me earlier. I don't know how groomers are compensated, but I sensed she was not happy about this. Additionally, the manager was a jerk - he wouldn't even consider helping me out. He didn't approach my dog, didn't personally look over the situation, it was not very professional and I just left thinking I will never go to Petco again. Stay away from this Petco Grooming unit - there is a better one called the Gray Dog just across the street. read more
