It also happened to be the only place in town that carried my dogs prior pet food (small batch pets). I started coming here weekly about two years ago. Initially I really loved the customer service here. Some younger girls were working and not only did my pet love them- but I did as well. They were warm, helpful and outgoing. Then something shifted - I walked in one day and the owner Kate was discussing prior employee with another customer. Bad mouthing them and discussing how the had moved to work for her "competition". Maybe I'm just too "community over competition" oriented but this experience put a horrible taste in the mouth. Everytime I've seen Kate the owner after she's just very off putting, she's condescending and rude. Not a friendly woman in any form. There are other local pet stores in stgeorge that you could patronize that undoubtedly treat their employees, past employees and customers with more kindness. Also, the owner is VERY money oriented. It doesn't really matter how much you've been there-there used to be free samples which they now charge for.

This store seems fine. We bought our puppy here. Look, it…read moreis what it is. The staff was kind to us and there were no problems and the puppy is totally fine and healthy. If you want a particular breed they have payment plans. Are they hiked up. That's how they make their money. My puppy was from a breeder according to the papers and had a family tree. The only issue we had was she had a surgery a small one but didn't even know about it, until our first vet visit. Then we called the puppy store and the sales man told us she did. It wasn't on her history or paperwork. So that was kinda lame. You agree before you leave the store that the puppy looks well to you. You sign many papers and that you agree to take them to the vet ASAP. They tell you to not take the dog anywhere for a certain amount of time. Keep some common sense in your pocket while you're in there. Ask a lot of questions. They will answer them. Make sure you're ok with a payment plan. Recommend if YOU do buy from them to use cash. The lending place they go through is a piece of crap that any banker will confirm sucks to work with and incredibly bad bad service. We ended up withdrawing cash and paying the store. My dog did actually come from a breeder who sells to pet stores. They are suppose to have strict regulations and health warrantees...and are supposedly inspected with their state agriculture dept. I have a pedigree that came with our dog and the breeders name...so it wasn't a huge secret or anything. Just ask them where the puppy came from. BEFORE you buy the dog. The cool kid who helped us gets commission except if they aren't there the person who is will get the sale. So if you like someone that helped you make sure they are there when you purchase the dog. If the dog is super expensive there is wiggle room for negotiation. They discount the dog the longer it is there in the store. IS what we were told but our sales guy. This is all what I gathered and got from it and talking to them. They are super nice people and that is their job. My dog is awesome, was it worth the amount I paid? Most likely not, but i did want her and I did choose to get her from there and I am happy with the dog and haven't had health issues with her yet When you're buying a dog from a puppy store of some sort, take in consideration they are prob eating the paper and their own poop. They are probably not walked the greatest and will take just a tad extra effort to potty train because they just potty in the area they are in whenever they want. It's at your own risk and you clearly sign a butt load of papers making sure you're aware of what you're getting into pretty much. It's pretty clear. End thought: if you want a particular breed and you don't have cash to get it. Or don't want to wait. You can get it at a hiked up price at the puppy store on a payment plan. There was a guy in town who was calling people bigots on a Facebook thread he manages the Puppy House ( Puppy store is where I got my dog, two different stores ) I am not sure who manages the puppy store. If it's someone totally different or the same, I don't know. But just keep in mind how unprofessional and disgusting a manager can be to snap back at a customer who made a post on losing her dog. Even if she was right or not his character was gross. I don't personally know any of the people who work at either stores. And again I liked the two sales reps I spoke with at the PUPPY STORE. They were super nice to us. Take time to look at the pups if you want but don't just act on how cute and bad you want the dog. Be smart and ask people. Ask the banks about the loan. Search all the reviews. Do your own research then decide. Love my dog though, we've always wanted the breed we got and are totally happy with the dog. Not at the price we paid but hey we put ourselves into that cause we wanted the dog a ton. BUY at your own RISK. Can't be any more clearer than that. READ your paperwork. ASK a buttload of questions. Leave the store and think about it for a few days. I put two stars cause of the price and environment ( they should have a grass area the store has to let the dogs out to potty and play in my opinion. ) i think they should have their own Vet working there. And be clear as day where they get their dogs and the source. I think they should have options to include particular toys in the store that you pick out yourself with the purchase and a variety of dog food options. I think they should have a personal groomer there and you can see the dog get washed and looked over. And you're going to be getting a pup that most likely was touched by a buttload of other people....

Told the girl which dog we were interested in and wanted to buy. We were holding the puppy, making sure we liked its temperament and getting to know him. About 15 min after we had arrived, another young couple arrived, went to the counter, and started doing some paperwork with the girl working there. We were ready to buy the dog, but figured we weren't in a hurry and could wait for them to finish whatever they were doing. After over an hour, the girl working there comes to us and says, well this is awkward but that couple just bought this dog. Excuse me! She's like, yeah they needed to finance it, that's why it took so long, but the financing just went through and so it's theirs. Even though we had arrived before the other couple and she knew we wanted to buy it. Also, why did she allow us to sit there, have my kids bonding with this puppy for over an hour, then tell us sorry you can't have it. We didn't really want to make a big scene with our kids there. So we just left. But looking back, I really wish I would have had her call her manager/owner of the store. Unless that other couple had previously put a deposit down on that dog, we should have been the ones buying him, not the other couple. My wife and kids cried the rest of the afternoon. We will make sure everyone we know will not go there as well. My kids were not running around like crazy. They are not those kind of kids. My son ( who is a fairly calm 9 year old ) was playing with the rabbit- who seemed to enjoy the attention. You could have simply told my son it could scare the birds- instead of sharply saying " I'm going to have you stop. It gets enough exercise during the day". I would stop my kids from being crazy- if that was actually the case. The other time- you started to set a bird on my daughter shoulder- without warning and she flinched out of reaction. You told her she isn't ready for a bird. You completely broke her heart. As you have seen, my daughter has been very interested in a bird and has tried asking you a lot of questions. Honestly very disappointed in your people skills. Also, you do not try to educate. You talk to them like they are beneath you. From an online source: "Some people don't realise just how much exercise rabbits need. They should not be kept in their hutch all day long without any form of exercise. A lack of exercise can lead to serious health problems such as obesity, poor bone and muscle density and urinary infections." www.timeforpaws.co.uk ' owning-y...
