Tug is a double coated dog and she is able to clean and groom him to perfection. I love that she found in past groomings various items, like fox tails, and groomed them and other things in his coat out. Tug's sister, Rainy, also gives Dogtown Pet Spa 5 paws for their day care. It's always so frightening to bring our fur babies to a new place. I totally lucked out finding Dogtown! Our Springerdoodle has now been going here regularly for grooming (the Spa) and boarding for a year and a half. Dogtown treats our girl like family. The staff is well trained and education is done with staff members on the care of our pets/babies. They regularly sanitize and make sure our fur babies are safe. It is easy to communicate with staff members. Everyday your fur baby is boarded you will get a report card and a photo of how you they are doing. We had been using Pet Spa for the last 3 years, we recently left our dog for a 3 night stay, after picking her up and getting home she was starving, upon looking in her overnight bag we found that 2 of her 3 meals were still in the bag along with all of her morning food. We put in a call the the Manager who responded several hours later and assured us our dog had been fed daily but could not explain why her food was in her bag. She seemed unable/incapable of telling us exactly what our dog had been fed but assured us that she had reviewed the video feed and all was well. The Red Rock Pet Resort sheltered our sweet Pitt for almost 2 months. When we came to pick him up, he did not want to leave. He had gotten very attached to the handlers at RRPR. He looked happy, well-fed and energetic. During the time he was at the Pet Resort, we were able to see him interact with other dogs and the handlers in the play yard. The dogs are videoed at play a few times a week...a very nice feature. I would highly recommend this kennel for long or short term stays. The staff are loving. kind and very helpful. read more

We dropped our 10 mo old cattle dog off for the day while we explored Zion. The staff at drop off were very friendly so we felt at ease leaving him for the day. Please note that this was his first ever day at a doggy daycare so we were a little nervous. At pick up, the staff was again very friendly and got our pup out very quickly. Our pup is now sound asleep after having a great day at the Red Rock Pet Resort. Love how they even gave him a sweet report card for the day. If there is a point of origin above and beyond, "Above and Beyond"; Red Rock Pet Resort is in that horizon. I rarely write reviews, in fact; this is my first Yelp review to date. I don't usually come across an awe inspiring or abysmal situation in which I feel compelled to notify the world of its amazement or caution the CDC or FDA to investigate. With that said, Red Rock Pet Resort is by far the exception! My four legged companion and best friend (Bowie Montana) and I have been visiting the beautiful city of St. George, Utah for 1 month and we were fortunate enough to have come across Red Rock Pet Resort during our time here. Bowie (German Short Haired Pointer) is no stranger to doggy day care and boarding, as he attends daily day care in our home city. During our travels throughout the country and even in our home city, no other Pet Daycare/Boarding facility has come close to the exceptionalism as Red Rock Pet Resort! My initial amazement came from the second I opened the doors to the facility and stepped through the vestibule to be greeted by two smiling and congenial staff members and a floral scent in the air. FLORAL!!!! in a PET FACILITY!!! Hello.....This is not common. That is like walking into a Cow Barn and smelling Fresh Lavender.... It doesn't happen.... And when I have picked up Bowie after Day Care or up to 3 consecutive nights boarding he smelt better than me! Over the last month, Bowie has spent a majority of the time we have been in St. George at the Red Rock Pet Resort. He is the perfect barometer for what any establishment is like (Good for Bad) and his tail was always wagging. From the time he entered the car in the morning knowing where he was going to when I picked him up. It was evident that Red Rocks care and professionalism toward Bowie was evident. Their team of Professional Pet Enthusiasts were spectacular. That's not what they are called by terminology but I think it suits them quite nicely. Tyler, Celeste, Steve (Owner), Wendy and Nadaline were by far some the best humans I have encountered.... Well, I am a little bias... Anyone that treats Bowie with love, joy, exuberance, patience, kindness and happiness; well they are amazing humans and Red Rocks Staff did not disappoint. The staff was always accommodating to our needs and patient with my schedule. A lot of the activities that I did during my time here (hiking, skydiving, canyoneering, running) were either time sensitive or weather oriented; and Red Rocks Staff always made my time dropping and picking up Bowie easy and affordable. It is truly unfortunate that we are leaving this beautiful city and heading back home to the Midwest. I know that Bowie will miss his friends at Red Rocks....I know this because this morning he whined (4) times and brought his leash to me at 7:15 am....The same time we would be leaving to drop him off at Red Rocks! read more

I visited this establishment to determine if I could leave my cat there for an extended stay. The cat area where they house the cats looked ok until I saw one of the cat cages had vomit in it and the worker made no effort to clean up the vomit. I spoke with the front desk person to determine drop off and pick up times. When I asked if they could work with me on a slightly later pickup time, the clerk got very unpleasant with me and said no they would not extend any pick up time. Her attitude was very harsh. If they treat their customers this way, how are the pets being treated? Front desk person -- If you don't want to provide customer service, quit and go find a different job. read more

He is clean, and happy (yes a little tired from playing all day) when we pick him up. We took our dog to Dog Town Pet Spa in St. George to board for 8 days. When we took her in she was healthy. While we were away, after she had been at the kennel for 7 days, we received a call telling us she had a cyst that had burst. After we returned, we took her to our veterinarian the next day and after examining the wound he said that it was not a cyst, but she had been punctured and had a large inflamed bruise. Dog Town climes they are not responsible and have lots of video. They also say because we had to sign a waver stating they are not responsible if she is injured, they don't need to pay any of the $2,000.00 vet fee. But the fact remains that we took a healthy dog into Dog Town and picked up a dog with a puncture wound and severe bruising. It is very sad. You need to beware. read more

This place has changed ownership 3 times in 6 years. It's gone from Red Rock Pet Resort to LP4 Dogtown. With each change over the price jumps. Aside from the price jump (because that's happening everywhere) we are concerned with the safety for our dog. We have been going for six years and evrytime she comes home injured. We always ask that they could look out for her starting to limp. She has been home now for nearly two months and is still very badly limping. I am taking her to rehab and the vet. We can't in good conscience keep her here anymore due to the injuries. Im also upset b/c we pay $50 a night for her to be kept safe. They simply (and this is a known fact) do not have enough staff watching the dogs and they make the excuse for the price jump that this is what you are paying for, really excellent hands-on care. That's not what weve gotten. Just want to share this so if you have an injury prone or elderly dog you might go elsewhere. read more

I am writing this review as a result of extremely poor customer service. I have used Dogtown Pet Spa for the past 6 years ( it was under different ownership when I started). My yellow lab always appeared to be well take care of although she picked up several bad habits ( barking, flinching when you made quick movements etc) that she did not have previously. My wife and I went out of state for a week and left our pet with Dogtown in St George with the understanding that we would be back late Saturday. The individuals at the counter said "that won't be a problem, you can pick your dog up Sunday morning after 9".I called Saturday and Sunday morning and left several messages. No return calls! When I showed up at Dogtown to pick up my dog the doors were locked. I heard my dog barking( she recognized the sound of my car) and went to the Side yard fence. I saw one of the handlers there and he said he would bring her right out. When I went back to the front door I was met by a woman who introduced herself asMckinsy "the owner"not only of this facility but of the whole chain. I told her we were waiting for the handler to bring out our dog she said "that won't happen we are closed till 2:00) I mentioned again that the handler said he would bring our dog out she said " I will tell him he cannot do that because it is illegal". (What law prevents me from picking up my dog)? She was so rude and aggressive. Now I fear for my pet who is so gentle and easy going as is typical to labs. McKinsey's customer Sevice is the poorest I have seen. We were promised a report card and daily photos of our dog as we have always received in the past. We did not receive them until I call a few days after we left to ask for them. Than a few photos were sent via email. I and my wife have owned several successful businesses and have worked as trainers at Disney World. Due to her demonstrated poor customer service McKinsey would have flunked at any of them. As you can tell I am extremely disappointed in the new ownership/management of the St George Dogtown location. I will not use this facility again! When you review the reviews be sure to check the single star reviews! Some terrible things have happened. I have verified the reviews. These are substantial and solid citizens of our community. This is a SAFETY concern for my 10 MONTH old German Shepard male puppy as well as myself and another owner's two untethered muscular dogs. I opened the lobby door to come in for dog day care and a muscular dog was coming out the door as I was trying to come in. I immediately closed the door so the dog didn't get out as there was no leash on the animal. A woman sitting adjacent to the door said come on in as she was trying to hold the dogs. I said, I would wait and walked back out to the car. She said "don't be that way"! First of all what way? I have a young male dog who is difficult to handle coming into Dogtown because he is so excited. He is strong enough to take me off of my feet in an uncontrolled environment which is what I was fearful of with two unleashed animals at the door- I was fearful for my safety, the safety of my dog and whatever could happen with these other two unleashed animals. At this point I was fine I went outside to wait until the coast was clear. Then the owner of the two animals still unleashed come outside and come over to me gathering at my feet and my dog's feet now outside. She begins to admonish me, insult me, call me names, and basically get in my face aggressively all because I didn't go into the lobby and take risks with safety when she 'told' me to come in. By the time I was back in the lobby after the incident I found the MANAGER present who witnessed the scenario in the lobby and this is how she handled this situation. I said, "aren't the dogs supposed to be leashed when in the lobby? " As a note all other dog day care establishments have this clearly posted even before you come into the lobby. The MANAGER said, "yes the dogs are supposed to be leashed". I am crying at this point with tears and said that owner accosted me outside and was completely rude because I did not follow her command to come into the lobby when she told me to. The Manager said, she "didn't mean to be rude". The Manager then says, "her husband didn't leave the leashes". The Manager then says, "she has been coming here for NINE Years". The Manager witnessed the occurrence and did not offer to get two Leads like other owners use when they forget their leashes. The Manager did not come out into the lobby to assist me and my dog to come in safely. Instead she offered three excuses for the rude and obnoxious and aggressive behavior of another owner who was Not following Safety Standards; Excuses for the rude, obnoxious and aggressive behavior of another owner who was Not following Safety Standards. I would have expected proactive measures to keep animals safe at the time, as well as communication to me with an appropriate apology as to why Safety Standards are not being enforced. Not withstanding I was in tears at being verbally assaulted in their lobby and parking lot. read more

I have used this facility on many occasions and prior to its name change. I am very disappointed with the care my dog has been given during his last 3 stays. Once he came home with kennel cough even though everyone is supposed to be vaccinated prior to boarding (not blaming them for this - stuff happens). The second issue was them not giving my dog all the food that I dropped off with him. He basically got about 1/2 of his regular diet (so what's the point in bringing in his food). The person at the desk had so many excuses. This last time, he came home with a large scab on one of his ear tips. It is OBVIOUS that another dog bit off a piece of his ear flap and it had to be bleeding pretty good considering the size of the scab. Had someone told me there was a scuffle I would have been OK with that. But to not even report it to me is absolutely unacceptable. He also wound up at the vet 2 days afterward for severe diarrhea, most likely from stress. Just doubled my boarding bill. I'm not sure if I will use this facility in the future. Sadly, I did love them at the beginning. read more

Story is too long to get into but they neglected to tell me things over the phone and at their office. It cost me money that I as a senior could not afford. Boarded our dog for one night. Picked her up about noon and headed home. About 3 hrs later our dog started vomiting and didn't end til about 10pm. The episode was intense. Our dog did not drink or eat anything the next day, drank a little water on the second day and finally started eating again on the 3rd day. She managed to get down some chicken and rice but that was it. Odd thing, our neighbor had the same experience 2 weeks before us after leaving her dog at Red Rock? She didn't connect her dog's illness to Red Rock but after visiting with us about our experience, the light came on for both of us. Same results after boarding our dogs at Red Rock. Our dog was horribly sick and we have no desire to chance it happening again, we will be looking at other options to board our dog. read more

We brought our four legged family member Echo into visit the Red Rock Pet Resort while we visited Zion National Park. The facility was clean and was in a good location. The staff was friendly and right away we could tell Echo was going to fit right in. When we picked up our dog after six hours and she was happy as could be. They had to pull her out of the pool. They gave us a report card for her and a active, excited, happy, friendly dog who got on well with everyone there. The next time we're in St. George we will definitely bring Echo here for a doggy day away. read more

I requested via email to have my profile deleted because I was talked down to when I attempted to have my pet visit for a temperament test. The front desk was not able to decipher the proof of rabies shot/neuter even though the facts were stated on document and if the impatient person at the front would have simply taken a moment to fully read the document instead of jumping down my throat and assuming the info wasn't there she would have noticed the facts that meet the requirements were stated on the doc. They did not respond/delete my online profile as I requested. I eventually had to call and have them clear my information but they were still unable to delete the account bc they just assume the profile can't be deleted, instead of knowing how to use their own software. At the end of the call I said thank you and the person could not even utter a proper ending and instead just muttered uh-huh. read more

I am writing this review as I believe it's needed so you can make an informed decision about leaving your pet here. On the first day of daycare the staff were welcoming and friendly. I have a small dog who loves people but is a bit anxious around other dogs. After the second day of daycare I realized that this was not the place for her. During the day there are too many dogs in the same area and in my opinion the small dogs should be separated from medium sized and larger dogs. On the next day of daycare when my husband picked up our puppy at 4:50pm, the staff searched and could not locate her. In about 5 mins after panic, they realized they had brought her into the office because according to them she tried to "escape". They handed her over without the collar or leash she was brought in with, even the colored temporary collar they usually put on the dogs was missing. She also had cuts on her legs that could not be explained. I understand things happen and even if they were from her trying to dig under the fence (many dogs do dig) I suggest securing the fences with something that is not harmful and dangerous to pets who may do this in the future. It's great that you don't need a reservation for daycare but when you have too many dogs for staff to supervise I would suggest changing that policy or adjusting to be able to monitor the dogs with more staff. read more

We come to St. George about three times a year. I lost all my pet sitters in Vegas due to them having babies! I did research like crazy for doggie day care/boarding in Vegas and in St. George. I finally decided to inquire about the Red Rock pet resort. I emailed them (late one night) and the owner Marilyn responded to me by the next morning. I had a set of special circumstances and she went way out of her way to accomidate us. I was very greatful. I admit I was nervous about leaving my boys. But the staff was so nice and they all took the time to reassure me that all would be ok. They took my dogs pictures and had a little storage basket already made for them with their names on it for their leashes and collars. When I went to pick them up they had a little report card on their behavior in their basket waiting for me and when they got into the car they were so so tired! I was very happy to see that they were just tired and not stressed out at all by their stay. We are going back this Saturday. Can't wait to see everyone there. read more

My puppy (5months) has its first experience with boarding this week. I was very impressed with the caregivers and their love for the dogs. They were very interested and personal. On the Facebook site I was able to see a video of her interactions with other dogs and how she was acting. This was comforting. When I returned with my dog she did not want to go in the building and once inside, cowered from the attendant. The human helpers are extremely in-tune with the animals, & I know this because as I arrived to take them home after the1st visit, a gal walked in from the play yard & asked if Girrr & Paxil's mom had come to get the girls. My dogs obviously heard my car & made her aware they were going home. I am so happy that i have found a home away from home for my girls & if I could give the Red Rock Pet Resort & the people who work there more than 5 stars, I would. OK, it looks like I'll have to be the first crazy cat lady who talks about getting her cats groomed. It's true, I took all seven of my cats into red rock pet resort to be groomed. Shaved, wash, nails clipped. OK that's not completely true. I only have two cats. I wish I would have gotten the name of the woman who grooms cats, but I will absolutely go back here. Pricewise they were the most competitive place I called. They were extremely professional, really nice, and I'm so happy with the girls' new look. 100% recommending these guys. read more

This is a wonderful, caring facility with welcoming staff if you are looking for a doggy day care place. We had our 2 small dogs stay for 2 consecutive days for several hours. Both are a little shy and sometimes skittish (being rescue dogs we have had for only 1/2 a year). They came back with tails a-waggin, and so tired they slept soundly when they returned for a few hours. They came back clean as well! The place was spotless as well. The also received a report card from the first day of the visit, detailing how they did throughout the day. I also think they have a video feed to check in on your dogs. Our seven month old puppy loved staying overnight and in puppy day care here! As soon as we entered the reception area and our puppy heard dog noises, she couldn't wait to go play and didn't even say goodbye to us. Sigh. When we picked her up, she was excited to see us but we could tell she was on a puppy high after playing all day. The staff was awesome, greeting us and making us feel happy we had selected them to leave our puppy with. We felt they all were dog lovers. We received the cutest "report card" when we picked up our puppy from her over night stay. A few days later, we decided to let her enjoy a day with her new dog friends. Again, she was so excited when we dropped her off and when we picked her up, she was wet from playing in the pool with her buddies. After both visits, she slept so soundly! We had a great experience boarding our dog at Dogtown Pet Spa this past weekend. I found it off the reviews here and decided to give it a try for our trip to Utah. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We didn't get to go inside due to Covid restrictions, but everything seemed good. They answered all my questions and sent us updates on our dog while he stayed there. He was a little nervous with other dogs, and the staff explained how he progressed during his stayed. We checked him out one day to hike with us, and he didn't have any problems returning afterwards. He seemed happy and well cared for when we picked him up. read more
