Highly recommend the Margherita pizza if it's your first time, the mozzarella di bufala, tomato sauce and basil are perfection! My husband had the sausage and onion pizza and we shared the panzerotti and Amalfi salad. If you want a cocktail the limoncello martini is a must, they make their limoncello in house! The manager gave us a complimentary cocktail which made things even more enjoyable! We will be back......many times! So happy to have this place so close to our house! Finalmente!!!!! I have normally liked Pupatella's in multiple locations including this one, however my last experience left a bad taste so much that I opted to cancel my order. In the past they were willing to put four toppings on a pizza with the caveat that they don't recommend it but if the customer wants it they do it with eyes wide open that it may not be as crispy, In my experience it was delicious as it stood with all four toppings. The last time they were there a militant wait staffer would not even take the order, One staffer's need to be right ruined my lunch and my experience with the chain. I can no longer recommend Pupatella's to friends or family but hope this is just an isolated incident. read more

The pizza tastes pretty good, and the higher price in my opinion is worth it. You can tell the bread is superior to many pizza breads out there, and if you pay the upcharge for the buffalo mozzarella cheese, you can tell its better quality and tastes better. Their meat toppings are standard, basically the same as you can get anywhere else. But I believe the buffalo mozzarella and several other ingredients including the tomato sauce, are actually sourced from Italy. The pizza dough may also be sourced from Italy I believe, or the oven used for it has volcano ash from Italy. I believe it is similar to the dough whole foods uses on their pizzas. The buffalo cheese is still made using animal rennet, instead of vegetable rennet or microbial enzymes, so it could potentially be easier to digest for some people. Buffalo milk protein is always A2 protein as well I believe. The pizza is a reasonable size for one person. This is the only location I've tried thus far, and I don't know if I will try this location again, due to both the location being out of the way and also the inconsistency with toppings. The first time I got a meatball topping with buffalo cheese, there was a good amount of both cheese and meatballs throughout the pizza. The second time I got the exact same item, there were much less meatballs and less cheese as well, and more empty space where there was just tomato sauce with nothing on top of it. I did not like how much they skimped out on toppings the second time. I do not remember, if they actually have two options for adding cheese and meat to the pizza, like one option to add buffalo cheese/add ground beef, and another option to add "extra" cheese or extra ground beef. There is already a significant upcharge for having buffalo cheese on the pizza, and also for adding ground beef to it, so I don't think it would be proper to skimp out on those toppings in order to force people to pay for extra toppings just to get a reasonable amount. The best pizza I've found since my wife and I lived in Italy! Great flavor and cooked to perfection. Be sure to try the zucchini fries too, even if you don't like "normal" zucchini. Ricky took GREAT care of us, even recommending some pistachio gelato for dessert, and it was fantastic. I highly recommend Pupatella Springfield over the one in Merrifield. We've had many meals at each and can say with certainty that the pizza & service @ the Springfield location is 10x better than at the Merrifield location. Very overpriced pizza for a thin breaded crust. Just isn't worth it to go to a place that's charging almost $18 per person. Toppings are not a reasonable charge, and each pizza should come with a set amount of toppings included. Bring a family here and you'll be walking away with a huge bill. I was so so so happy when Pupatella opened not one, but two locations near our house! It meant I wouldn't have to make the 20 min drive to Arlington for the best and ONLY certified Neapolitan pizza in the area.
