Stopped in tonight for the first time to get a walk-in nail trim for my pup. I was surprised by how busy it was. They asked me to return in 10 min which was no problem. I so appreciate the walk in service! The groomer who was with my pup was very good - you could tell she was comfortable and adept at her job. She also spoke sweetly to her, which I appreciated, as my dog was obviously nervous. She hates having her nails trimmed but tolerated it well, no doubt the quick work of the groomer helped with this! I drove over an hour to get to here just to get my dog wash in the pouring rain she was full of mud. I looked online and it showed they do south wash. Where I can go in and take my dog to wash myself. When we got there dogs were roaming throughout the place with no leash. And I asked to do the dog wash service which is shown on their window and online that they offer it but the lady refuse she says no no no what are you doing don't do dog wash. read more

I recently took my Australian Shepherd here to be groomed, and I'm glad I gave it a try. They were able to fit me in on a weekend - a must for me - and on fairly short notice, and even nice enough to call when an earlier time slot opened (which we took). My Aussie is an older boy and when we got there, he was terrified to go into an unfamiliar, noisy place - so, overprotective pet mom that I am, I worried until it was time to pick him up. They suggested I pick him up in two hours and were true to their word - he was just coming out of the dryer when I arrived. He wasn't scared at all and actually seemed quite happy ... and he looked great! His fur is super soft and sweet smelling and they trimmed him up exactly as needed, no more or less. I had a nice chat with the manager as I paid to leave, and she was as friendly as everyone else I dealt with there. The price was very fair for the service provided, and quite a bit less than the mobile groomers I've used in the past, so I look forward to working with them in the future. read more

Charged me $70 for one dog and $60 for my other dog (both large breeds)- the $60 dog was totally fine and clean but our other dog had to have his nails skipped because of his fear aggression towards trimming which I warmed them about prior to the appointment. Post appointment we waited outside for 15 minutes being ignored by the staff who was outside talking to a potential client while the other staff member was on the phone inside and repeatedly screamed at my dog to "SHUT UP" because he wouldn't stop barking and crying because he was clearly distressed and just wanted to be with us. Absolutely fuming I asked to simply get my dogs back in my possession so they aren't panicking inside the store while they're being ignored by staff. I was charged $130 in total and when I asked about their prices going up even though I wasn't told that- she just said "well it's going up for everyone." I paid expecting everything to be ok and when I got home my $70 charged dog was shedding nonstop indicating there was no brushing or any deshedding done which they normally provide for full service. In addition his ears were still dirty and clearly no attempt was made at cleaning his ears out. He was washed but that shouldn't cost $70. Lastly, I told her before the appointment that he can be very aggressive with nail trims so I said "if he shows ANY signs of discomfort or agitation simply stop right there and leave it alone." - as to prevent any further trauma or stress with nail trims. She told me after the appointment that they tried over and over again despite his anger and fear and tried strapping him down, muzzling him, etc.. Absolutely infuriating since I told her to leave him alone so we don't take 10 steps back in his progress to become more comfortable with nail trims. Lastly- after being screamed at by the other staff member- when we asked for our dogs back she grabbed his leash and yanked upwards on his neck forcing him to stand up and dragged him outside. If you care about your animal and their well-being I would implore you to look elsewhere. The absolute disregard for the animals well-being and disregard for completing the job they're charging for is insane. I've tried calling multiple times to discuss a refund or partial refund for the service and haven't had them answer my call once. At this point I'm at a loss for what next but I know I'll never be going back here. read more

Horrible customer service. I called to ask about getting my dogs nails trimmed. They won't take an appointment, cause they want you to upgrade to a full bath to make an appointment. They told me nails are just a walk in so come on down. I get there, doors are locked, they won't come to the door. your supposed to call them from outside. However they won't answer the phone after calling for 20 min. Finally speak to someone and they tell me to come only after 11 for that. Why tell me to come only to turn me away? read more

PAWSOME JOB!!! See what I did there? ;) Sorry I'll stop right meow. For real, though. We took our samoyed, Simba, there and they did an amazing job with him. We have always had issues with groomers wanting to overly trim Simba since he is so incredibly fluffy and they can't seem to fathom how we would possibly want him to stay as a giant snowball. But, Pup Scrub more than honored our wishes and only trimmed him in the places we requested. They also managed to get his fur the most straight and white we have ever seen it. They gave Simba a treat at the end, and didn't even seem phased by the fact that Simba had left their establishment looking like a wild snowy blizzard had just blown in and covered their floor and clothes. We will definitely be returning to Pup Scrub for Simba's next grooming session! read more

I gave this place 1 star only because of groomer Kesha. First of all when i was making an appointment i made sure and i repeated several times that the time is 4.45 pm but at 12.55 pm Kesha called me and said that my appointment is for 12.45 pm and she is waiting for me. I had to change my plans and in 2 mins i was in Pupscrub. When i picked up my dog we came home and i saw that Kesha didnt cut my dog's nails at all. I decided to come back and ask to do it, Kesha was really unfriendly because of it, she moved a table to me and asked to raise the dog on the table, i explained that i am pregnant and i could not carry heavy things, but Kesha didnt do anything, another groomer (i dont know her name, thank her very much) she helped me to raise the dog on the table. Kesha began to cut my dog's nails in a hurry, but 1 finger she refused to cut because it is deformed and she was afraid to do it bleeding and i had to to do it by myself at home and i did it with no problems at all. I don't know why she was so rude to me and my dog but we didn't have any of this problems before. So angry!! We scheduled a grooming appointment for our new mini poodle. She had some mats on her shoulders and chest from her time in the pound (possible her previous owner kept her in a harness, we think), so we expected some shaving needed to happen. The woman groomer said she would have to shave everything, including my dog's face and legs, even though they didn't have mats. I asked if maybe she could leave the legs not shaved, because our puppy gets very cold and I was worried about her in the winter even in a jacket. The woman actually said to me, "Well, I can't let the dog leave with only half a shave, it would look ridiculous and that would reflect bad on me." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I'm suppose to care about what you think my dog looks like, as opposed to caring about if my dog is cold in the middle of winter?? I'm not making this up, she really said that!! No one is even going to know she shaved my dog, and it's what I asked for and what is best for the dog. This woman even had the nerve to act offended that I cared more about my dog's health than her. WOW!! We are taking our dog elsewhere, and recommend everyone else do the same. This lazy woman was trying to get $70 for a 5 minute total shave job that would have left my dog freezing in the cold for absolutely no reason. Completely ridiculous. read more

I had a very dirty Dalmatian who after a day at Saint Edwards park frolicking in the water and then playing along the trails, had turned into a brownish grey with block spots vs the preferred white backdrop! I noticed the Pup Scrub and thought I'd check it out as I was exhausted from the previous fun and wasn't much up to taking the mess home with me. For $16.99 donned on a plastic apron, hitched Branimir up to the tub and with the assistance of a very sweet person, I was able to use an oatmeal hypo allergenic soap and conditioner to wash that brownish grey out of his hair! I was also able to do a quick swab of his ears and give him a good blow dry, leaving all the shedded fur behind. He is now a softer, better smelling version of his former white and black self and I couldn't be more pleased at the ease it took to get him there. Self dog wash-couldn't recommend it more! read more

Dear Pup Scrub... Wow! Your response is so vast, I am not sure where to begin. Here ya go.. German Shepherds have dense coats and females that breed shed more than males. Are you aware of that?? Your comparison of a male to female is ridiculous and yet another example of just what you don't know. No one, including your employees, said anything to me during the bathing process about shedding, plumbing or an additional $20 charge. In fact, the other woman in the waiting area who also chose to stay and wait in order to ensure her dog was treated properly discussed her concerns based on prior visits openly and got up multiple times to check on her dog. Are you suggesting that my staying to ensure that my dog is NOT put on a drying table (despite my directives to the contrary) made the dog shed more? Seriously? As a lifelong owner of shepherds and a customer since the opening of Pup Scrub, how is it that this subject was never addressed, plumbing was never clogged or set prices never altered prior to your ownership? As for the bacterial infection she endured, symptoms began at 10pm the day after her bath(Sunday). She began treatment the following day (Monday). Your attempts to deflect any obligation and excuse any part that your dog salon played in her ailment plays poorly, at best. She is not considered, at 9, to be an older dog from a line with an average 15 year life span. And while I am not certain what VM training is required in the licensing of a dog groomer, the DVM that treated the dog clearly contradicts your assumed canine expertise and I have the lab bills to prove it. While I anticipated a response, I am mildly impressed with the temerity with which you place the blame on your customer and a dog!! That's rich! No doubt you exercised the same nerve when taking over a customer service based business you are obviously so ill prepared to handle. I'm sorry, Pup Scrub, but this one is on you. Since taking over your turn over in employees speaks volumes and in the meantime, the employees that remain seem to feel compelled to make excuses for your new practices. How sad for previous owners and employees that worked hard to establish a once reliable business. read more

We rescued a dog that had aggression issues. So we started taking him to the self serve here. It was great for the dog to get some social interaction with people and dogs. After awhile we finally decided to have Keisha do his grooming. She was so understanding with Bentley. We gave her his muzzle and after a few times she say's we don't need the muzzle anymore. He loves Keisha and she does a great job trimming and bathing him. We take him every 5 weeks. If your dog has any special needs I would recommend asking for Keisha. Mugsy, our lil 5 yr. old MinPin can surely be a messy little pup - but what is so awesome is that there exists a pupscrub right across the street when he gets out of control!! As a very low cost experience - Mugsy can be washed, scrubbed, shampooed, bandanna-ed and puppy cologne-ed for all under $12 (nail trimming not included, but they do that as well!) - the best part is the parents get to wash their pup for less scary-ness!! Mugsy always gets one of their famous dog canolli treats when we walk out of there and gets to run around in the park adjacent to dry off. This review is for the self-service dog wash, not the groomers there, per se. I went late on a Saturday afternoon and they were busy, so there was about a 20 minute wait. The wait is not an issue. What you may want to consider is that with all the stations busy, whatever hot water tank they have is being severely taxed, and though I had it turned on all the way hot, the water was tepid at best. Another thing you will want to consider is the ambient volume with 5 or 6 commercial dog blowers roaring all at once. There were only 3-4 on at a time when I was there and it was uncomfortably loud. One of the full time groomers wisely had on a set of the industrial ear muffs you see the guys on the airport runway wearing. That will give you a sense of the noise volume in the room. And about those blowers; they're are just that and not heated. What that means is that you're blowing cold air at your cold dog, trying to blow the water off. I will say that blowers like that are pretty common but I would have much rather have had my Andis 60070 that provides safe, gentle heat. Another issue for me was the low quality shampoos and conditioner. Compared to others I use they felt diluted and ineffectual. I have a dog with a long, light, and silky coat. I need my conditioner to detangle and add manageability - the Pup Scrub product didn't do this at all. The result for me was having to blow cold air at my dog for an inordinate amount of time. Because the conditioner was of poor quality, it resulted in serious matting and tangling. This may not happen to you; it depends on your dog's coat. When I saw what was happening (matting and tangling) I shut it down, paid, and took my dog home to re-bathe and condition. It was not how I expected the afternoon to go, but for me it was a lesson learned. Do I hate the place? Nah. The people were nice enough; nobody called me a b*%# and c@*# (see Heidi H's review). The price was reasonable. It's just not for me with the breed of dog I have. You could probably wash a dachshund or other smooth coated breed there and be happy if you were wearing industrial hearing protection ear muffs. read more

I would much rather clog up their drains, get their walls coated in greasy dirty fur and leave puddles on their floors than mine! This is an entertaining place to take kids for a morning of washing your doggie. They love the big tubs and the production of putting on an apron and all the bottles of smelly good stuff to wash Muttly with. Once you guys finish up there, grab a nice coffee/pastry or lunch somewhere in the village while folks stop to pet your now respectable Rover.
