First time trying Punjabi By Nature! We decided to come here to pick up Indian food on our way back to Toronto. The place is quite colourful and you are greeted by a huge display of Indian sweets. More inside is a large dining room and a short line of customers ordering take out. We ordered butter chicken, vegetable biriyani and aloo gobi with x2 garlic naans. I also got a box of sweets and 8 samosas for Mother's Day. Our mouths were watering from the smells of the food in the car! All in all the food was consistently good - food was fresh, large portions, and really flavourful. My only gripe was the vegetable biriyani had potatoes, corn and paneer, a little unorthodox. If you need some quick, reliable and fresh basic North Indian food, I would recommend this place! read more

$40 CAD for two This place is a family-friendly and economical Punjabi restaurant and sweets shop. I was recommended by a friend to visit this place specifically for Saag Makki ki Roti and Amritsari Kulcha and my oh my, those were amazing. Perfect level of spicy and flavoursome. Cherry on the cake was every menu item is pretty much in budget. They also offer buffet option, but we didn't have appetite for that so took À la carte. Dahi Puri could have been better but I won't take that as an excuse to rate this as less than 5 because first two overcompensated for it. Gajar ka Halwa in desserts was made with red carrots and made for a sweet ending to the experience. Marking it as a favorite place for Saag Makki ki roti. This was some of the best Indian food I've ever had! When you walk in, you are faced with a room-length bar of confections, each one more beautiful than the last. Then, the smell of fresh spices hits you, as you walk around the corner to wait to be seated. We asked our waiter, Nadeep (I hope I remembered that correctly!), for recommendations. He did not steer us wrong! It was all delicious!! My only criticism is that I won't be able to come back when I go home to California. read more

I remember the food being better when we visited here before the Covid pandemic. Something seems to have changed, maybe the same chefs no longer work here, or something else. But this time, the food was absolutely mediocre. First things first: the staff is friendly and polite, and is the silver lining. The server was quick, responsive, and nice. Papri chat: chat is not just four different food items on top of each other. They must come together to blend into one flavour, or it tastes like what it did today. The curd was extra sour and the green chutney tasted weird. Chilli chicken dry: Ketchup flavoured sweet chilli chicken? It tasted more like someone was playing a prank on me and our reaction to this was videotaped for a reality show. Just, it wasn't. This inedible food was the actual dish. Dal Makhni: not bad, not great. Say a 4/10 compared to some delicious dal Makhnis available in the GTA elsewhere. But it saved the day, considering the other items. Chhapati: The roti was cooked well but can be better tasting. I recommend the management to bring back whatever or whoever it was, back in 2019 and early 2020. Never wasting money on food here again. I've been here about three times now. The food itself is good, I got the chole bhature three times and that is what keeps me coming back. The wait can be kind of long which is why I would rate this three stars. Last time I had to wait about 20 minutes for three plates of bhature to go. I've never had the buffet but it looks really delicious. The seating area is pretty great and comfortable. The quality of the mitaii/ sweets is also pretty great and fresh compared to the ones in the area. I think I would give this a way higher rating if the service was better. read more

I went to Punjabi By Nature for lunch with a group of friends. When entering the restaurant, guests first walk through displays with sweets for take out, which look awesome, before reaching the dining room. Decor is pleasant. Seating consists of tables and booths, mostly set for either 4 or 6 people. We decided to have the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. Presentation was fine and the food tasted good. I'm not familiar with Indian cuisine, so unfortunately I'm not able to name everything I had. I loved a very tasty spicy cold vegetarian appetizer made with chickpeas. Pani puri was ok. Butter chicken, chicken curry and goat curry were nice, although they were between lukewarm and cold; the buffet did not do a good job keeping some of the food hot. Saag and some sort of paneer were also good. Tandoori chicken took forever to come to the buffet; we had almost finished eating lunch when it was finally brought out, after repeatedly asking for it. For dessert, I loved the gajar ka halwa, which I'd never had before. Gulab jamun was fine. I was not impressed with the rasmalai. The placement of the dishes in the buffet was somewhat confusing. The plates were on one end, while the appetizers were on the opposite end. Some of the desserts were on one end of the buffet, by the appetizers, while others were in the middle of the savory offerings. It would had been nice if names had been placed by each dish at the buffet. Service was somewhat absent throughout the meal, although the server was very nice agreeing to bring separate individual checks for a large group. One of my go-to places for Indian Sweets. I have tried the Motichoor Laddo, Boondi Laddo, Gulab Jamun, Milk Cake, and Besan Laddo. They all taste great, and most importantly are fresh and always made new since they sell out fast. The simple Laddo here are pricier than they are at other locations, but I wouldn't mind paying the price since their quality and taste is great. Will definitely recommend. The food is mediocre and the service was terrible. The buffet was $17.99 a person and we hardly ate anything. There were no labels on the food and every time we asked the staff they were very annoyed. They even pushed me out of the way when I was serving and acted like they are high above their customers. They also have a policy where we can't go on the other side of the buffet, as they serve the Thali's there, but all the spoons were on that side and so we couldn't have half the buffet. When we had to pay we had to wait in another line for that. It is a very busy place as they sell sweets as well but everything was in a rush. Came here for dinner with the family on a Wednesday night. It was fairly busy despite the fact that it was a weekday! This place is definitely a family favorite of ours due to its laid back and casual atmosphere. It has a decent amount of seating and you usually don't have to wait too long for a place to sit. We ordered 3 thalis - 3 curries, 1 raita, rice, and a dessert item. The thali comes with 1 Naan or 2 rotis. I personally enjoy the Naan better. The food was delicious and the Naan was decent enough. My thali included Shahi Paneer, khadhi Paneer, saag, and gulab jamun. I liked how the food was full of flavor but not excessively oily. One area of improvement that I can suggest is that the wait staff make less mistakes with the order. We had to wait close to 20 minutes because they didn't get our order for the roti correctly and we had to wait for a long time. Additionally, they consistently forgot a thing or two from our order and had to go back to get it. They were very nice but not very good unfortunately. Additionally, the restrooms need to be cleaned better - they don't smell too great. Overall - would return because the food is just that good. read more

This location is very close to my place. I have gone there 3-4 times. Indian sweets and samosas are really delicious. I think they also have buffet, will try it soon, as whenever you enter this location, it smells so good. Sometimes when it's busy, lines are long and can take time to order, but staff is friendly. We hired this restaurant to cater our event. That was our first mistake. The second was trusting that they would do their jobs or deliver what they promised. They showed up late to the event, served cold food and were in a rush to leave before the event was finished. On top of that, the servers were incredibly rude, condescending and uncooperative. They deliberately insulted the guests and the organizing committee members. We felt that we had to cater to the server's needs more than they were to ours. We have never interacted with a more unprofessional, unpolished and insulting restaurant. We would strongly advise other to stay away from this company. read more
