Lunch special manchurian chicken with rice, salad and spring roll
    Rabail A.

Came here during my lunch break after doing a quick yelp search of nearby takeout places and I was satisfied. Let me break it down. Taste and portion size: 5/5 Ordered lunch special: mild manchurian chicken, white rice, salad, spring roll and hot and sour soup. Everything was fresh and flavourful and the portion size was meant to be for 2 people. Service 5/5. Placed my order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 15 mins. I got there in 10 and my order was ready. The gentleman over the counter was really friendly. Price 5/5. Appetizer and main course came out to be $9.03 which is a bang for your buck. Final verdict: Will be back to try more items on the menu.

I have been searching for a Indian twist on my Hakka and stumbled upon Guru's. Before walking in I read a few reviews and was armed and ready to give this place a go. Totally unassuming from the outside, the place was nicely decorated, staff was friendly and happy to bend over backwards to make me happy. I looked over the menu and ordered the Szechuan chicken, Chili Beef (dry), Chili Chinese mix Biryani & Veg Chow Mein. I also noted that most reviews found the food mild and bland so I asked for it hot. TIP: Other patrons were also requesting the spice level & mostly asking for their food hot. If you like spice, you need to request it or they will play it safe. The food arrived, it looked great, ingredients and veggies were fresh, the food is definitely with an Indian twist, but tastefully done, it did not derive too much from the usual Chinese Hakka. Spice was present in all the dishes I ordered and was about a 7 on 10 for heat, which is where I like it. Preparation of the food must have been done on the stove. I noticed most of my food was not oily and had a more cooked taste, which I enjoyed. Only complaint was the beef, which was slightly on the firm side, but, I did ask for it dry. Overall, I think GCC makes a nice place to go to for a twist on the Hakka experience. I would recommend giving this place a try if you want to do the fresher & less oily experience. Great for beginners and those who want to change up their mundane Hakka dinner.

This is undoubtedly one of the best Chinese restaurants in Brampton. Everyone I've brought here has…read moresaid the same--it's one of the best dining experiences they've had. The fried chicken is an absolute must-try. It's on the saltier and slightly spicy side, but if that suits your palate, you'll love it. It's incredibly crunchy, flavorful, and satisfying. The fried rice is also excellent--comparable in taste to what you'd find at Congee Queen. The portions are generous; one plate could easily feed two people. What keeps me coming back is the "Meal for Two" combo, which is a fantastic value at under $60. If I remember correctly, it includes dumplings, fried rice, fried chicken, General Tao chicken, and spring rolls. Every item is cooked to perfection and full of flavor. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Service was honestly one of the best I've had in a while. The staff were friendly, responsive, and knew how to read the room. I also really appreciated how well they made use of the space. A lot of places this size end up feeling like takeout joints with tables, but this one was cozy and thoughtfully put together from top to bottom. Now onto the food. Overall, everything was good, but the wings were easily the standout. Perfectly fried, seasoned with just the right amount of spice and heat, and absolutely addictive. If you're coming here, ordering the wings isn't optional. They're a must. Other dishes, like the noodles and Mongolian beef, were a bit on the mild side for my taste. Maybe I'm just used to something with more kick, but they leaned a bit safe. Not bad at all, just felt like there was room to push flavor further, especially after tasting how well they nailed the wings. Dumplings were hearty and filling. I personally prefer a thinner wrapper, but these had a wholesome, satisfying quality that still worked. If the area is the reason they're keeping things mild, I get it. But I'd love to see what they could do in a more adventurous food neighborhood. Either way, it's a solid spot and I'd be happy to come back if I'm nearby.

Jenny made everything so smooth from ordering, to our requests and up until we finished up paid the bill. She was patient and kind which is what you need when being this busy. As for the food, well it's normal Congee Queen consistency. Normally good, maybe sometimes a little salty but nothing outstanding. Overall good for the price.

It is a nice local spot to get your Chinese food cravings fixed. Their menu seems to be the same for all locations, the only difference being the price, all locations potentially the same other than the downtown location. See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. If you signaled for assistance, they will come. Once ordered thought, the food came out in about 5 mins and all the dishes were ready soon after. Tea is refilled on request, just ask. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. Will keep in mind to meetup at any of the non downtown locations in future.
