Over the last few weeks , have been to this place three times. Once for a couple of Thaalis, Parathas and just some pakoras for some last minute guests. The girls on the counter are very courteous and quick. In spite of being busy, they are always smiling and try very hard to work as quick as they can. Twice I phoned ahead for the order and the items were a bit late getting ready. Not very late. The food is absolutely amazing. The Chole, the Parathas, the pakoras. All of them spiced perfectly, the salt, the flavour. The food is fresh and a ton of variety for vegans like us as well. The prices are reasonable as well. read more

We went for a Sunday brunch with the family! The location is in a plaza surrounded by lots of other restaurants and stores. The service was fast, and the place was busy which was a good sign. The food was delicious. I definitely recommend the Chole Bhature with dahi on the side. They're huge and you get two so definitely shareable! read more

We were craving for channa bhatura this morning, I yelped and found this restaurant, so we decided to try this place. This is very popular North Indian breakfast dish, it's a fried flatbread served with chickpeas, potato curry and pickle. I loved the way they packed it for takeout. Flavours are excellent and almost like you get in India. They also have large variety of Indian sweets and pastries. This is a value for money restaurant. Amazing prices, delicious food !! Channe bhature - lovely food. Due to covid trays are individually packed, with a sleeve offering sturdiness when taking away home. Channe spicy for me, but tasted good. Bhature not that oily, kitchen paper between each one to soak up excess oil. Given current circumstances beautifully packaged and food tasted great. Personally think an ear in experience would be better and so will return when that is possible. read more

Calling all vegetarians and you carnivores that want a change, Doaba is 100% vegetarian. Doaba is in my opinion the best vegetarian food in Brampton. Great thali for $6.49 (naan, rice, yogurt, small salad, pickles and a choice of three dishes). Highly recommend the Kofta and shahi paneer and the naan is fantastic!. Good selection of paratha's and kulchas all served fresh. I had the channa bhatura today ($4.99) and I guarantee you will be impressed. Now after such a rave review you might wonder why did not give Doaba 5 stars??? In a works out is because of the service, or lack of! If you are dining in you have to order at the front and then they will bring out to you or if you are getting the thali they will ask you to choose your mains. Its not that they are rude just ambivalent..........unless you get the one guy who always looks depressed? I call myself a carnivore and generally consider vegetarian food to be rather boring. However after visiting India where more places are vegetarian than not, I've learned that Indian vegetarian is awesome! For me Indian is all about the gravies or curries. The beauty of vegetarian is you get way more of the tasty gravies for an incredibly good price. The picture of the meal I attached was $7 and change. It was delicious! So I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Indian cuisine, even if they consider themselves a carnivore like myself! The sweets are also very yummy. read more

Nipped in here today as I was running to a function and ended up grabbing some samosas. Initially I had thought maybe to get some veg pakora but the lady behind the counter (thankfully) reminded me they only partially fry their pakoras and that they need a second frying before serving. The samosas were done fresh to order and were good. While waiting I took a look over some of their meal and desert options and from the selection available I'm definitely intrigued. This certainly was worth the trek up to Brampton. Came here to satisfy my craving for Idian style breakfast, especially the Alooh Paratah which I can not find downtown. They offer a set dish, two paratah, yoghurt and tea - this was $6 so not too bad a price. It was a decent try, although a bit stingy on the actual Aloo (potatoe) While i was paying i noticed they had another one of my favourite dishes in a plate combo. Saag with Cornflower Roti. Trust me this is soooooo nice. I order that for take out for myself and a friend and had for dinner later that day. Tasted great and can not wait to go back for some more. The restaurant itself has decent seating, but it does get busy pretty quick and the take out wait times are pretty long. read more

Food *****- Service* - Ambience* (extremely dirty tables) (Better for take out) I would give this place a 4.5 stars overall, if not their super unfriendly and sloppy service staff and really dirty table area. Their staff treat customers like they are doing the customers a favor by serving food. The glasses, tables and cutlery are not washed clean. The floor under the table is always strewn with food dropped by the previous customers, their menus are always stained with food. Their food however, is one of the better Indian foods I have had in the GTA for such low prices. Their thali is very filling and has sumptuous quantities. Their curries are quite delicious. Being an Indian myself, I can vouch for the taste and quality of their food in comparison to authentic Indian food from back home I certainly recommend this place for revisits. But you gotta tolerate some very sad, long drawn faces showing complete disinterest in the business you give them and a very dirty seating area. read more

We ordered the Paranthas here and they came out delicous. This is real a Punjabi breakfast, we told the folks there that we came all the way Chicago. They were very kind and patient and made us jalebi fresh (we still had to pay). I still am in Toronto for a few more days and will probably come at least twice more. A homely restaurant for authentic Punjabi cuisine in Brampton. Driving distance for those living in Mississauage too. Serves great Makki di Roti, Sarson da Saag to be had hot and fresh. Chole Bhature or parathas are great too if you are in a mood. Sweets and savories are equally good : I used to do a takeaway of a box of dry gulab-jamun and samosas. The curries​ sit in this kind of tray and sit​ underneath some fluorescent​ lights that keeps it hot. I usually order the thali. I suggest you do as well​ because​ it comes with 2 curries, 1 daal, rice, bread, salad, ​and yogurt. When you're starving and bite into this food it tastes like the best Indian​ food in the world. The gravy in the curries is​ packed with flavor​​​. The naan is fresh, that's why the wait is long. My only complaint is that the naan is very thick sometimes. But my main complaint about the thali is they give you just enough rice to cover the plastic but that's it. So far I've been talking mainly about food so I think I should talk about service. Most of the people who work here can't speak English​ that well so you might want to bring google translate. I'm not complaining or anything but most of the workers are students at the nearby Sheridan college who came here from India to study so that's why they don't know too​ much English​​. Doaba is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant-- the food is amazing and the quantity is large. I got the paneer kulcha and it tasted just like the one I got in India. The kulcha was well cooked and the panner was seasoned perfectly. The deserts that they had were delicious. I got the milk cake and the gulab jamun, and both were not overly sweet. I have visited this place several times and never ever I have got disappointed. Their Gobi and Muli parathas reminds me of home. Staff member at Avani recommended this for sweets, so we went there after dinner. OMG!!! Even through the glass case nothing looked fresh at all. When my husband asked if the Bengali sweets were fresh, the lady behind the counter said they always have everything fresh at which my sister in law asked if they were made that day, and was told no but they were "fresh", we asked when they were made to which there was no reply. Me and my sis-in-law were ready to leave at this point but my husband still wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so he asked for couple of pieces of mithai for which we would pay in-house and only if if we liked it we would buy more. Even though we were paying, she was rolling her eyes as she gave this as though doing a favor, and thank god he asked to try, we could not even make a dent into the surface of the mithais with fork/spoon, they were actually SO HARD.
