What a gem! My sister and I were staying next door at the Hyatt and had time to kill on our last night in town. We had been wanting a good martini and my sister had the idea to come here with our books and relax and have a cocktail and read. The lounge was cozy and relaxing. The martinis were delicious and we ordered the popcorn that was recommended. The popcorn was addicting and we ate way more than I thought we would. We eventually got a bottle of red wine and had some of the skewers (chicken, shrimp and peppers stuffed with goat cheese). We liked the peppers with cheese one so much we ordered another one. The red wine was also tasty. The service here was above and beyond and made a great last night hang out. Also this place was a great place for the groom and groomsmen for my cousin's wedding just two days before.

Was hoping for a lot more from this restaurant. Started off with a couple drinks and thought the server had heard me to put in the caprese app, well she didn't. Finally got the app and it was not special. Cherry or grape tomatoes cut in half and could tell they had just came out of the refrigerator tells me that the chef doesn't know you don't refrigerate tomatoes or they batch make this and leave it in the cooler. Still wasn't special regardless what the status of the tomatoes were. Was served with like 8 pieces of small pita bread, bad choice for the vehicle to drive this poorly executed app, which wasn't enough for the amount of tomato "dip" they gave you. Next had a salad that you could literally wring out the dressing of like a soaked cloth towel from over dressed greens with no flavor. The shrimp and jerk chicken skewers were the only redeeming quality of this entire restaurant. When the chef/owner goes under from their poor quality of food, he should open a food truck called Skewers and sell those. Just saying. Won't be returning....

Great spot for tapas style dishes, great selection of cocktails and bourbon. This is my go to spot whenever staying in champagne. Their happy hour is great although it got modified recently and the happy hour menu has shrunk a bit. Camarones Cubanos and baked Brie board are a must try. They also make a mean old fashioned and some seasonal drinks. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Plenty of sitting inside and great outdoor sitting is also available.

Came back to town over the holiday break and this is hands down the best cocktail bar in town! Such cute ambiance, and a very extensive drink menu. Pictured below - the pisco sour

Best drinks hands down! The drinks are upscale, they have a seasonal menu and they put a lot of thought and effort into the ingredients. Very creative. I had a drink with flavored ice, so it didn't water down my drink and instead added another layer of flavor. They have a regular menu, a seasonal menu and a very large selection of hard liquor for the connoisseurs. The workers are knowledgeable about the drinks and the place has a great ambiance.

Not sure why I haven't reviewed Punch yet but this is THE cocktail bar to go to in Champaign-Urbana. I'm originally from Chicago so when I visit home I usually find the places I want to frequent on a night out but I finally have a place to frequent in Champaign! First off, the service is always great! Everyone here is friendly and informative about the cocktails. Everyone always greets you with a smile and treats you like a friend. Love the staff! Second, the bites to eat, although I haven't tried much because I usually come here after dinner, are amazing! I love the baked brie and my friend likes the camarones cubanos! Their fries are also very good. Definitely a treat when you're having happy hour or coming in for a dinner date with a friend! Third, the cocktails are so amazing! I really, really appreciate good drinks. I love trying the different cocktails every season and I enjoy their genius creations. Right now, my favorite is the Biscuits cocktail because it has honeydew milk tea (which is my favorite milk tea back when I was a teenager btw so memories) Definitely check out Punch if you want to have a great weekend or weekday treat!

The sweet potato fries (and I presume the normal ones) are fried using the same oil as other foods, so people should take that into consideration should they wish, but they're otherwise okay. I ordered the tofu tacos and the sweet potato fries. Excellent meal! The music being played was Nintendo-themed covers and remixes, which I was definitely able to appreciate!

It's a wonderfully unique space--part wine and spirits shop, part lively daytime dining room--with a steady flow of customers browsing bottles alongside a full bar and tables occupied by ladies who lunch and retirees enjoying a relaxed weekday afternoon. It is a surprisingly chic space for Champaign. The dining room was busy enough that there would have been a wait for a table, but we were perfectly happy at the bar. Our bartender was very friendly and welcoming, even while clearly managing a high volume of guests in what felt like a short-staffed moment. Despite that, service remained warm and attentive. We shared the traditional fondue, which was generously portioned and stayed hot for an impressively long time thanks to their setup--ideal for lingering over conversation. We both enjoyed wine pairings, and I especially loved the Winter Warmer Knob Creek cider: cozy, well-balanced, and a standout choice, particularly for anyone who appreciates Knob Creek. Sun Singer has an excellent atmosphere--social, distinctive, and effortlessly inviting. I very much look forward to returning the next time we're back in the area.

Though it looks unremarkable from the outside, inside, you'll find a wonderful restaurant where the staff is highly invested in making sure you have a great meal. My companion enjoyed a lovely Old Fashioned to start. I ordered the Turkey stroganoff, while he had the shrimp and grits. When the plates came out, I thought the veil was finally about to slip. They were well-plated, but huge. And yet...the veil didn't slip. It was haute-cuisine comfort food goodness in what looked like a converted warehouse space. Unreal! Though turkey is often too dry, my stroganoff was moist and succulent. The sauce was much more than just cream of mushroom -- lots of flavor and not too much salt. We had a time of it. I'd happily come back here again and again.

It was a bit of a wait for our entrees to appear and when they did we were disappointed with the wait. The filet was ordered medium well and arrived seared to almost well done other than the very center was cold and red. The halibut was overcooked as well but regardless I decided to enjoy the halibut because it was still palatable. The filet, on the other hand was not. It was tough and just not very good. I fully expected to spend the money on a fine dining experience but didn't feel that experience was met. We will try Baxter again in the future with hopes of a better experience but our history there has been hit and miss!

The peach cider on tap was excellent and other customers said their cocktails were really good. The service was good. We were a group of 5 and were seated at a 2 person table pushed together with a 4 person table. The 4 person table had regular table legs in the 4 corners. When it was pushed against the bench, this made it impossible to get to our seats on the bench, especially in a dress. Kind of a crazy design. I had the pasta and it was fine. Nothing to rave about and pretty pricy to leave still hungry. I had considered the cod with peanut sauce and cauliflower puree. We were informed they didn't have cod anymore and it was either salmon or tilapia. It seemed crazy to charge $23 for tilapia while salmon & peanut sauce combo did not sound that great. A friend did order it and was unfortunately disappointed. The cauliflower was so puréed it ended up being very thin like a sauce. So, she ended up with 1 piece of fish with different sauces on her plate. No vegetables or carbs to go with the fish.
