Wow, We got the Labor Day Special to watch the a little college football. The special had 2 racks of ribs, 1 pound of brisket and 3 sides for $80 and the we ordered wings. First the ribs were the best I have ever tasted. They had great flavor and fell off the bone. The brisket had nice flavor, and super moist. The wings also were great and my favorite sauce was black berry habenero. The sides were also tasty. My wife always wants collards, these were amazing and meat all in them. Tried this BBQ place, something other than the common choices. Very happy we did. First walked in, it did seem like no one was happy. However, Rob (owner) came up and took out orders. He was very friendly and a welcoming personality. The brisket and chicken were great. Flavor was wonderful. The bake potato was perfect. It is a nice place with natural wood tables glossed over. I am so upset I have to review this place. First off, the Owner needs to polish up on his Customer Service skills. We were very excited to try this place. 1-The orders came out in foam takeaway containers and they knew we were eating in. 2-we ordered 1/2 lb of brisket and 1/2 lb of pastrami, which came out as fat. When questioned why it was so fatty, we were told we ordered the tip which we did NOT! 3-I ordered a loaded baked potato which came out plain. All we heard were apologies but nothing to rectify the situation. The Owner had the audacity to ask us if we wanted to take the fat to go! First time customer. I would give 2.5 stars. Staff was awesome! Wanted ribs. They suggested fried ribs. 6 in a half order. They were tender but zero smoke flavor which were supposed to be smoked for many hours I was told. Sides were collard greens and deviled egg pasta which were decent. Did not like any of their sauces. I would give them one more try with regular ribs. If no improvement I would pass them by. Not impressed yet. read more

Food was phenomenal. Pulled pork was so juicy and lean. Brisket was so soft, cooked perfectly. Their baked beans were unique but amazing. And their bbq sauce was delicious. The service was excellent. Oh, no, they didn't! I think I found my thrill over on pump House, barbecue Hill. That barbecue is off the charts. I had the smoked burnt end of the tri-tip or the brisket and I'll tell you what I have didn't even taste like that when I was in Memphis, Tennessee. Collard greens I have never tasted such flavorful juicy with a little bit of kick collard greens. You could taste the flavors of the of the of the pork the ham or the whatever they use the bone I'm telling you I don't want to eat my whole meal because I wanna have that for tomorrow and be able to taste those flavors. There is a bit of kick to most dishes but that is likely because I am not a fan of much spice however it did not take away from the taste. The inside is a bit small but there is plenty of outdoor seating. The staff was helpful and even checked on the tables even though it is a counter service. By far the worst BBQ pork I have ever had. If this was my first time ordering I would never order again. Was not even warm when served. Baked beans were cold. Best item in the meal was sweet potato. We came later in the evening around 8:30 pm. Live musician playing acoustic guitar. Server remembered I had ordered cornbread when I forgot. Three of us got the brisket bacon burger with different sides. It was delicious, with a firm brioche bun that held up through the meal. I was surprised the "pickles" were just lightly pickled cucumbers, but they added a nice crunch to the burger without overwhelming acidity and saltiness. My wife and I dipped our burgers in the house made horseradish based sauce for a nice kick. My wife had fries which have a nice crisp, but the best sides were the sweet potato, deviled egg macaroni salad, and the baked beans. The baked beans were particularly interesting as they were kidney beans in a thin sweet garlic sauce. My son had brisket sliders but he said the brisket was a little dry. He was a little disappointed. I tried a few bites and would agree it was a little dry. My daughter said the kids Mac and cheese was a little short on the cheese, but she says when she combines it with the fries it's much better. My brother in law had the same brisket bacon burger with loaded baked potato and collard greens, he loaded baked potato could use be more "loaded". I think the sweet potato ca is better than the loaded baked potato. I am a particular person when it comes to restaurants and I really pay attention to the small stuff as it makes all the difference for me. Great meals begin with a great server and Mia was a great server. She was knowledgeable about the food even to the point of telling us which items were award winners when. She definitely was attentive and had a point of view when we asked her for recommendations and I really appreciated her choices. The service all around was great. The food was fabulous. We had the BBQ wings and they were delicious, brisket was tender and moist. All of the sides: mac, slaw, was tasty. We did not have one complaint and that's a rarity for our group. The ambiance was comfortable and we had a great table to spread out. There is a bar area and another seating area on both ends of the bar. I have been to two other BBQ places in the vicinity and Pumphouse BBQ is the clear winner by far. Definitely recommend! read more

Stopped in here on a Sunday around 3pm with no cars in the lot and was skeptical but was enticed by the brisket slab sitting right at the front of the line just waiting to be carved up. Got the sandwich combo, no bun with Mac and cheese and cornbread. Started with the cornbread which was room temp but decent and went down smooth with the honey butter served upon request. Took a bite of the Mac and cheese which was top-notch, piping hot, full of cheesy goodness and peppery flavor. Then moved to the main event - the brisket. I do have to say this was room temp leaning cold, but it made up for the temp in the flavor, first time I've ever said WOW in a FL BBQ joint. Incredibly most, tender, and full of flavor, no sauce needed! The sauces were incredible as well and OMG the white BBQ is to die for, I could literally drink it. It paired well with both the Mac and the brisket. I was told they don't sell their sauces which was unfortunate as I would have loved to take that white BBQ home for another ride in the face hole. Portions were plentiful and had this big boy leaving fat and happy with nothing left over. I don't get to Daytona often but this place will certainly bring me back sooner than planned. This new Brisket/ice cream shop on Grenada is great. It's not cheap, but it's not stingy. You won't finish the nachos. They are perfectly covered in pulled pork. It's a dinner all by itself. The brisket egg rolls are an alternative to the Country Club's pastrami rolls. But my favorite was the brisket entree with two sides. Best brisket in town so far. There is wonderful ice cream shop next door where ice creams can be purchased as a 4 or 6 cup flight. We had daiquiri, peppermint, dark chocolate and milky chocolate. It was super! And in honor of the old gas station that use to be there, the ice cream succeeded in giving us gas. read more
