Solid Three. Really want it to be more. Here is why. The menu is terrific and a bit creative. Definitely a twist on great Southern fare. I had the St. Louis ribs which had above average flavor but were dry and over cooked as all get out. Wifey had Pumphouse Cuban which she liked and would get again - but NONE of the extras like pickles and more - came with it as requested and we were starving (wait maybe 5 mins more than should be) and we just ate nonetheless. Son had the GOAT and he raved about the cheese in it and overall flavor of it. So maybe a service issue, maybe (and I suspect this) an attention to details issue - or both. We will give it another try in due time and if you do - just go in with all the reviews, including this one, in mind. read more

My wife and I were staying in Ormond Beach and drove past this place a few times. The building is very cool. We decided to give it a try. The waiter was very friendly as was any staff we came in contact with. My wife ordered the "Stack" sandwich, which was huge. It came with two sides and she ordered the apple cobbler and NY style potato salad. I ordered the Philly, which was a good size. I ordered the apple cobbler as well but also ordered the sweet potato casserole. My wife's not a bbq lady but the sandwich was good as I tried it. My sandwich was very good. I'm not a fan of garlic so they put the garlic mayo on the side and I'm glad they did as I preferred my sandwich without the garlic taste. The sweet potato casserole, if you like a smoky version, will suite your taste buds. The apple cobbler was very good. The NY style potato salad was very runny, so we were not pleased with it. The atmosphere is great with lots of TVs and a nice staff but given my wife's not a BBQ fan, we probably won't be back. read more

We met the owners a couple of years ago at the last "pre-COVID" "Taste of Ormond." We visited their booth ... and then visited again! They were MEGA popular and had almost run out of food by them. (I think I got the last of the baked beans and laughed an EEE-VIL laugh that they were "MINE! All mine!" Dee-lish!) We talked to the guys and scored vintage t-shirts out of a car trunk! As soon as they'd "soft-opened" we went by and ... everything was as good as we remembered or better. All the stuff we sampled was there PLUS a bunch more. The "Deviled Egg Pasta Salad?" Genius. The mac and cheese? Creamy and delicious with the right amount of slightly burned cheese. The baked beans - as I mentioned ... dee-lish, and full of meat. So go. Go NOW. I've lived in Memphis Texas and Louisiana this is hands down the best brisket I've had since my Grandma passed excellent potato salad and greens. Happy staff made recommendations I truly enjoyed! This is by far, the best BBQ you can get anywhere near here. It's absolutely incredible, people were very helpful and friendly, and a clean, very nice inside. I had the "Fat Stack" and literally every part of it was homemade and high quality, Brisket was perfectly cooked and very high quality meat, tender and juicy, the onion rings are amazing and definitely homemade, mac and cheese is also homemade and absolutely delicious, even the coleslaw was amazing. We ordered take out to go eat at the park. It was ready on time and delicious. We eat bbq all over the US and are always in search of the best places. The meat was tender and smoky. The sides were typical of most bbq restaurants. We were bummed that you have to pay $1 per side of sauce. One of the fun things about most bbq places is trying all of the different sauces. We got there around 6:30 parking lot was empty.. went in and went up to counter to order, cafeteria style. {also an option to sit down and order which we found out later} ordered brisket , wings, rack of ribs and pump house eggrolls... entrees came with 2 sides each.. cole slaw, baked beans, , collard greens. Fantastic! And I mean everything! The pork, the brisket, the fries, cole slaw, and today they had little cups of garlic pickles. I like that you can order three different sliders, and you choose your bbq to put on it, one or several, lots of choices! Now the other night when we were here we also had the deep fried ribs, which are not on the menu but you can ask for, and I recommend you do. You can also get appetizer size. I tried this place for the first time. I am on a carnivore diet so i just got the meats by themselves. I really enjoyed the burnt ends, i shouldve just got a whole pound of that instead. I got the brisket and it was pretty dry. I still ate it because i spent $50 on half a pound of burnt ends and half a pound of brisket. Nice staff though. read more

Absolutely the best ribs I have ever eaten. I do not think Ormond understands what they have in this barbecue restaurant. When it is discovered there will be lines out the door. Ordered the basic burger $13.99. My god it was small. Then they charged 50 cents for tomato, and they never put it on the burger. Very subpar. We actually thought it was a kid's burger. I did say something to an employee that was walking by, and she was clueless and did nothing. My buddy had the bacon brisket burger and was happy.
