I have a very old bike, and instead of just fixing what was obviously wrong with it, I wanted an overall appraisal of what it would take to get it into reliable mechanical shape. Dan did just that, and for way cheaper than I excepted! The only reason they don't get all 5 stars is that it took a while. The only reason this mattered is that my bike is my main form of transportation. I had to call in to check on it instead of them calling me. But once I did, they had it ready within a few hours. I love this bike shop. I bought my cruiser there when I started going to Chico State years ago. However, I have brought many bikes into this shop to be fixed. They will often help you without an appointment. They go out of their way to be helpful and don't overcharge people. I would never take my bike anywhere else. She gave me lots of good recommendations and advice, even suggesting other options for a bike purchase when it was apparent they didn't have what I needed. Just took my bike in for a tune up and once over. I had not ridden it for years and ask to have new tires and tubes put on. The guys told me not to put them on the old ones were in great shape. I went into Pullins recently after finding them via web search. I had to see if all the 5 star reviews were justified. I had an issue with my bike and thought I needed some new tubes. The gentleman there was able to fix my bike in 4 min and didn't even charge me. I decided to buy a lock from them because I wanted to support their business and I have already informed many family and friends of my experience with the and I will be a continued customer for life. Dan is extremely knowledgeable about bicycle mechanics and got my well loved four year old mountain bike in brand new working condition for a veryyyy fair (and affordable for a student) price! Coming up to Chico state, I needed to get a bike to get around. After looking at a few bike shops, I decided to look into Pullins and was greeted with nice and friendly staff. I ended up purchasing a bike off of the Internet however I came back to buy a u-lock and recently went back to have them fix something in my bike. Fair prices and great staff. Pullins Cyclery is awesome. I had my 70's Bianca serviced there and afterwards it was riding ultra fast and smooth. They are friendly and I don't think you'll find a more knowledgeable staff anywhere. I once went to another store in Chico that shall remain nameless for a tune up and my brakes squeaked afterwards because they were too tight. We bought a bike for our son's 15th birthday a year ago from Pullins. We choose to purchase there mainly because it is a local business and being a Chico business owner we like to support local companies. We have had nothing but problems with the bike. We have had to take it in multiple times to be fixed. The last time we came in about a week ago for another broken piece, the employee said he needed to order the part and would call us to let us know when it is ready. We have been waiting for a call and decided to bring it down today to see if the part was in and see why it has so many problems. The owner came out and said that the bike didn't have the right rims and tires on it and our son probably switched them or someone did. The bike has been sitting in our shop since the last time we took it in and the employee said he had to order the part. Basically the owner called our son and my husband a liar. It is really unbelievable what an owner of a company would say to not be held responsible for fixing a problem. We werent asking for him to pay for it , we have paid for every repair that we have had over the year. We took it to another shop in town. They are able to fix the problem. They also said the the tires are the correct ones for the bike and even pulled it up online and showed they are the same ones that are sold on that bike. Very frustrating. Unfortunately we would not recommend this bike shop to anyone. read more

my bike recently got stolen, so i bought an old one for $50 from someone on craigslist and took it to pullins right after to make sure it wouldn't fall apart when i rode it. the guy i talked to said they probably couldnt look at it today (they looked pretty busy with other bikes in the back), but i could make an appointment for tomorrow to bring it in and it would only take 10 minutes or so. i explained what happened to my old bike and that i really wanted to have this one checked before i rode it to and from work because i live pretty far away from my job downtown. he was really nice and understanding about it and offered to look at it for me really quick right then! it took about 5-10 minutes for him to look at it. while i waited i looked at all the cool old bikes they have in there. he came out and said everything was okay, he adjusted a few things, but i should come back to have them put oil in my tires or something. he said it would only cost five bucks per tire! i asked if i owed any money for my bike check-up and he said no, it was free of charge :) im SO happy i went to pullins. i'm actually looking forward to going back to get my tires fixed up. read more
