It's a hit or miss when it comes to the semi-annual bike auction since the bikes they sell are ones that have been recovered from theft (in other words, it pays to register your bike, especially if you've paid over $50 for it). Definitely sign up at Facebook to be notified of the event (starts a few weeks into the new semester).
However, their service is outstanding and reasonably priced.
Located on Chico State campus (between the BMU and the PAC) with convenient hours and now at their shop on 4th and Cherry, they are very conveniently located.
We have Chico High students who ride their bikes to school--often through orchards and other areas where thorns and sharp pebbles come into play. As such, one of our kids got a flat and had no money on him for a repair. After a quick phone call to the shop, arrangements were made for him to walk the bike in, get the flat fixed ($7), and he was on his way again.
