This was one of my favorite meals in Italy! It has a tiny terrace overlooking the square below, as well as a tiny dining room with a nice view of the clocktower (you are literally sitting at the level of the clock) and the adjacent square below. We didn't have reservations since we weren't 100% sure when the ferry would arrive (we missed the one we hoped to take and the one we took was delayed), and there was no seating left on the patio outside but we got a nice table right by the window inside and were very happy with it. Service was great. The menu is short but more than enough to satisfy. We enjoyed a round of delicious limoncello spritzes and pasta. A couple of us had the fresh pasta terra mia aka ravioli (wow oh wow) and another had the spaghetti with clams (another big wow here). Even the view from the bathroom was pretty epic! I cannot imagine visiting Capri without dining here. If I am lucky enough to return someday, this will be the first meal that I book! read more

Pulalli is one of the best places to go in Capri and it's hidden in plain sight. High above the bustle of the main square but below the bell tower (which rang in noon while we were seated on the patio), it's a tiny restaurant with gorgeous views. And they simply offered the best caprese salad we've ever had, which we paired with an amazing Pinot Grigio. I was so excited to get lunch reservations at this quaint, little historic place in the campanile/ bell tower in the center of town. Our server was so nice. We had requested an outside table, but it started pouring rain, so he switched us to an inside table. The food was incredibly fresh, high quality and delicious. My daughter got the pasta w/ clams which were already out of their shells, in a light, but flavorful sauce. I had the ravioli, which was very good, but honestly, my favorite was my husband's burrata & capacollo - a mound of delicious burrata on top of capocollo (like a lean, thinly sliced, dry-cured prosciutto), served with fresh red and yellow cherry tomatoes and a light herbed vinaigrette. read more

The most incredible view of the island and the absolute worst food I've EVER ordered at a restaurant. You can tell they give effort on the presentation. However, I can't stress this enough.... The food was awful. Not to mention paying 100 Euros for this experience was the equivalent of highway robbery. Hmm, I wish I could recommend this restaurant more but I wish I'd known more before coming here for a special occasion. On the night of getting engaged we came here because it was central and had good reviews. When arriving, we found a very cramped dining room, inattentive service and almost no acknowledgement of the celebratory occasion for which we'd come. There was ONE outdoor table by the clock tower, and mostly too chilly for anyone to sit out there anyways, but the dining room was stifling and hot and they wouldn't crack the door to allow a breeze, it was just uncomfortable. The food was okay, but I would've rather been almost anywhere else by the end of the evening and would've gone elsewhere. My recommendation is not to come here, there are too many other lovely businesses with incredible views. This really didn't do it for our family, and certainly felt a little disheartening they didn't acknowledge an engagement at all. read more

Pullali wine bar was recommended to us by our hotel, when we said that we wanted to dine at a low key place but with good food. The hotel owners told us that they regularly dine at Pullali and love the place. Pullali is right on the clock tower in the middle of the city center in Capri, which makes it a great place to people watch if you get one of the tables on the balcony. You can also hear the loud rings of the bell next to you, which we actually found charming. This place has a wide selection of wines of course but they also make really good food. We had the catch of the day as well as the lemony spaghetti and both the dishes were amazing. This place is very reasonably priced for the quality of food and the service is impeccable. The owner even came to say good bye to us. We also saw lots of locals dine at this place which is always a good sign. read more

After spending several nights in Capri and mainly choosing restaurants closer to our hotel, we decided to venture out a little further and found a place not far from the Funicolare. It's quite hidden and took some time to find as the entrance, which is a stairwell, is in between two restaurants if you are facing the sea with the clock tower immediately above. Once you get to the top, you will find a small restaurant (not many tables, perhaps 12-15). There are 2-3 tables with an amazing view of the piazza and the sea. Ask for the table on the balcony at sunset. Beautiful and romantic, you will not regret it. Very classic Capri. We didn't have a reservation so that table wasn't available, but was early enough to get a table in the corner with no wait, and could still see outside. The host was very accommodating and suggested a delicious red blend to start our evening. For appetizer, we chose the octopus salad. Very simply dressed with olive oil and salt, but perfectly cooked paired with juicy, fresh plum tomatoes. It was served in a leaf of radicchio. The presentation as well as the flavor was spot on. In true fashion, we both chose pasta for dinner to share, the homemade pasta with clam sauce and the spaghetti with zucchini. It was the most delicious clam sauce I've ever tasted. Very different than most back home which are traditionally a thin, white wine and garlic sauce. Pulalli featured a slightly thicker, creamier, robust sauce with plum tomatoes. This coated the homemade pasta nicely and created a flavorful environment for the small, but fresh clams. The spaghetti and zucchini was a fresh delight. It was paired with a smooth garlic, butter sauce, creamy in texture. The zucchini was sliced thin and was slight crispy, creating texture to the dish. Perfecto! I went there in April and have been meaning to write a review, but keep forgetting to. However this place deserves a fantastic review. This restaurant was amazing. There is a balcony table which had spectacular views. I normally never write reviews but this place was unforgettable and the owner was so accommodating and sincere. Recommendation by a local bartender. He called over at 7:30 to get us a table. We were lucky to score the little 2 top that over looks the square and sunset- approx 8:20. Caprese salad was the best we had in town. Husband had the ribeye- delicious-recommend adding the salt they bring with it. My risotto was ok but the atmosphere and ambiance made up for it. Hidden location in Capri at the top of the clock tower in piazzetta umberto. Wanted a local and inexpensive meal and our hotel concierge suggested Pulalli. We didn't have a reservation but was able to be seated right away by the owner. Be sure to get a table outside so you can people watch down below. Ordered homemade ravioli with tomato sauce which was extremely fresh and delicious along with lemon chicken which was very light, flavorful and cooked well.
