The wait for a sub here is an absolute joke, fire everyone and get some people who care. Start with Joshua and Katie since they clearly can't even manage a hot dog stand. Have them get a job at Walmart since that's more the level of service they seem to be okay with. Also "Key" in the deli has the urgency of a sloth. read more

If Publix has a reputation for anything, it's for great service. If they have a reputation for anything else, it's for high prices. Both are spot on, but you get what you pay for, right? Our neighborhood Publix is always clean, well stocked, and offers a great selection of fresh produce, seafood and an increasing variety of vegan/non-dairy options. Even picked up some vegan eggnog in time for Christmas. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Sometimes it's just ridiculous how much more they charge for something compared to Walmart, but in many cases, as long as you get something during a BOGO sale, it beats the Walmart price. read more

Publix has never, ever disappointed, as far as providing above and beyond service. The four stars vs five is because they are pricier than most. Every employee smiles. When I ask for an item, they do not point instead they walk you to find it. The produce section is so pretty and clean. The deli also, clean and prompt service. The fried chicken is delicious and if you call they will accomodate special wing orders. The bakery staff is always friendly, and gobabive and beyond, always. The cashiers are friendly and work fast. Produce people are keeping the fresh fruits and veggies neat and stocked. There's always someone restocking something that's running low. The cashiers are still smiling and asking about my odd selection of plant-based products. They even ask to let them know how something is if I'm trying something for the first time. 5 stars. During this crazy outbreak, I visited many stores to get the basic essentials to stay in at home. None of them had any. I didn't want to go to Publix before because I thought I would be dealing with the same thing, but I was so wrong. They restock items,everything seems to be organized and I left the store within 5-10 minutes. Not to mention the staff, friendly and helpful. This place is definitely doing its best during COVID. Place is clean. Their sanitizing the carts after each use. Everyone is now in masks. Clearly marked aisles. 6 feet between carts in the checkout line. I appreciate what they're doing compared to some other stores in the area. read more

Their prices are usually high unless you get them on bogo then it's a good deal but the employees are always super helpful and friendly.

I had the best experience at the Deli today while on break picking up a sandwich. William and Joshua were absolutely amazing behind the sub counter. A sign was left out that a sub was a sale and they forgot to take it down and they honored the sale price on the mistaken sign. The deli staff is terribly slow. There's no organization whatsoever. It's a recurrent problem and the employees kind of wander around in the background while you're waiting to see what's going to happen in the swarms of people. Nobody moves fast and nobody hustles. Sometimes they just sit and talk to each other instead of actually moving forward and helping the customer. It's a typical Publix overall but the people behind the counters in both the deli and in the sandwich area are notoriously slow. It's got to fall on the management. We had fun shopping here; easy access from the side street, coming from a nearby neighborhood after picking our daughter up. She was going to bake a blueberry pie, so we figured, why not stop in close-by. She found some Halloween decorations, which I allowed her to buy; and, one was significantly discounted. My wife found some special edition Oreo cookies for each of us. We got the blueberries; but, at a very steep price! We also got a lemon; and, some deli meat. Throughout the store, help was nearby; and, we only needed assistance at the deli, which was quite backlogged. We found everything we needed; but, when we got to the car we honestly couldn't believe the price we paid for what we received (which is why 4-stars not 5.) read more

This location is the only grocery around until you leave the avolon area. I expected more at this location since it the only publix around for this little town neighborhood. Overall this publix was good I was just not impressed with their deli section. Being a Friday night no one really wanted to cook, so the time was around 7:00pm and the hot section did not have much to choose from. They were mostly out of everything. There were no more combo meals to offer. And all the stuff were dried out. Also there were no soup available and they said they were not making anymore for the night yet it was dinner time rush and they had nothing in this area. The only thing they had was an over flow of rotisserie chick, fried chicken, and spicy wings that none of the customers were getting. I just had to settle for a sub. And they did not even make that proper like most publix do. read more

Just a regular publix! They are often on the expensive side but their food quality is top notch and their two for one special is awesome. I feel like this Publix has one of the best pharmacies that I have been to in this area. The pharmacy staff at Eastwood often seem rude and disorganized. read more

Grew up with publix. I will likely always shop there. However, meat department in this store always has little selection. (We usually drive to a different store if we need something specific). Last night, we used online ordering for first time for the Pub Subs. Only had two sandwiches on the order: an ultimate and an Italian. The ultimate had the wrong meat on it. Instead of turkey, ham, and roast beef, they put the Italian meat on both: salami and capicolla. I didn't ask for onions on the ultimate but we got them anyway. They sliced the roll so unevenly it split and immediately fell apart. Finally, we requested sub sauce on the Italian sandwich. They didn't bother to put any on, even though it prints in bold on the ticket. Pretty disappointing dinner. read more

Publix at Eastwood is awesome! We are originally from South Florida And moved to Texas in 2018 and just returned a few weeks ago to Orlando. I may be very biased because having lived in an environment where there was no Publix for four years was dreadful! Kroger you will never be Publix!! Anyway the Publix and Eastwood is awesome everybody's very friendly, it's clean, it's such a pleasant environment to shop in. Publix is known for their friendly and consistent customer service and great quality products. From their fresh produce selection that has nothing to envy of other grocery stores to their neat meat-shop that even serves fresh sushi! Publix has it all! Sure, their prices are not as competitive as other supermarkets... but you are paying for quality here! Also, nobody can beat their weekly specials, specially the "buy 1 and get the second one free!". Let's not even mention their deli/cafeteria section. Great tasting food. I was always impressed by the employees and cleanliness of this place before the pandemic. I honestly have not noticed a decline in their friendliness and helpfulness. The addition of someone to sanitize the carts made this place cleaner than I thought it could be. I debated on 4 or 5 stars because Publix is a little more expensive than their competitors, but they make up for it in their customer service. After 8 years, some of the employees recognize me and are always welcoming to me and my kids. I do not think I have had a bad experience here related to the store or employees itself. read more

Horrible Horrible Deli Service! Understaffed, extremely slow....You have to prepare yourself before you attempt to get Deli service because you are going to wait for a very very long time...Even if there's only one person in front of you it's going to be an extremely long wait....so frustrating. I don't understand how this is acceptable and not addressed. I've waited so long on a few different occasions that I just gave up all together and walked out. Overall Publix is usually great. The problem I have had in a few different stores, because I travel around Florida a lot is with the Deli and the bakery. The deli has many people behind the counter but it seems they don't want to help you. They are waiting for a coworker to do it which leaves you standing and waiting. This has happened several times. The people on the cash registers in the front are on the ball. The Deli and Bakery workers need to step it up. Especially older people can't stand waiting for long periods of time. Managers need to observe more. read more

The worst deli service of any Publix in the Orlando area. Waited over 25 minutes for a line of two people. The servers would disappear between making subs and had no sense of urgency for the growing line. It's sad when you can get better service from the Walmart down the street, especially when Publix has, or is suppose to have, a premiere deli department. read more

The best customer service. I went to this Publix and I didn't know where the tampon aisle was because I was in such a rush. I asked a young handsome man, Amir to direct me to it. He asked me if I needed some help. I did. I didn't realize tampons came in different sizes. My mind was puzzled. I didn't want to ask a guy what size tampon I use. He then told me "are you ok?" I said my father raised me and I don't know which tampon to use. He said "no worries" and he took out his cell phone to call his sister. Social distancing not enforced. Deli people don't wear masks even though they handle your food and breath on it. What's worse is they wipe their faces with their gloves hands and then touch your deli. Reported it to manager. He was not apologetic though he said he would mention it to deli. As a former Michigan and Indiana resident, I genuinely believe that Florida residents have no clue as to how good they have it. Publix is hands-down one of the best grocery stores in the country. Besides the fact they have all kinds of wonderful prepared food, they have a really friendly staff that makes each trip to the grocery store pleasant. My favorite trip to publix is one in which I am going to be buying a full boar's head Italian sub on the Parmesan and Garlic bread. The meat is always fresh and the bread baked in house. Honestly, I rarely consider eating subs elsewhere. Also, the chicken options are all really awesome. Fried chicken and rotisserie are both delicious. I would challenge another Yelper to message me with a better chicken tender in the Orlando area. All in all, shopping at Publix has been one of the best parts about living in Florida. read more

I stopped to go to Publix at Avalon because it happens too often to buy expired food and had to come back for a refund. I usually check the date but sometimes when you are on a rush is not possible. Other reason is the plantains at the counter are always burned black. And lately also the sandwich size is decreased. I'm the type of person who would rather drive a bit further and shop at a really great grocery store than a sub-par one that happens to be closer. Thankfully, Avalon Park's Publix is just a few minutes away - despite there being another grocery store much closer. The quality of the meats, fish and produce here always impresses us. What really sells us on this place though, is the customer service. Everyone is really nice and helpful, but there are a number of employees that seem to love what they do, take pride in their job and really go out of their way for you. The employees at the fish counter, in particular, have come to recognize us and remember our preferences and help make suggestions based on them. The cashiers are always very polite and do their best to keep the lines moving. They keep enough registers open to make sure there is never a line more than two or three deep. If you've got a sizable amount of groceries, the baggers will usually ask if you need help to the car. The bathrooms here are kept spotless, and any small spills in the aisles are promptly cleaned up. If they don't carry exactly what you're looking for, the manager will order it for you - and sometimes they'll just start carrying it normally. If I had any single complaint, it would be regarding the recent addition of the "premium" level of meats. What used to be the regularly awesome cuts of meat are now "premium" - and the prices have increased. You can still get non-premium, but those cuts tend to be of lower quality than what they used to always carry. Honestly, I have no idea why any one would shop anywhere other than Publix as their regular grocery store. read more

I have friends that live on the West Side and they come to Avalon and visit...without fail whenever we're in this place someone says..."they don't have that in the Publix by my house"...it cracks me up! The staff is very friendly however my biggest disappointment is with management decisions to put aisle violators in places that are inappropriate especially during crowded holiday seasons Or just during normal days. Apparently the front and back spaces (aisles) that run perpendicular to the grocery products aisles are called breezeways. They are called this because they are meant to get you from one side of the store to the other quickly and efficiently. But both the front and back breezeways generally have the violators in the way and the store is not as big as the store in Eastwood so it's a mistake to do this in my opinion. Also their meat department is highly disappointing. They generally have a sad selection of meat. Even more frustrating is the fact that you can go on sale day the first day of the sale and they won't have the meat on sale there! Or they will run out of this meat that's on sale extremely quickly. We have written and discuss this physically with them on numerous occasions and they simply won't change. Now we go to Eastwood to buy need. That's really sad since we live across the street from the Avalon store. read more

I am a regular at this Publix and loved it because everyone was always so helpful and friendly. Last night I went to get some cold cuts and waited almost 20 because three employees were needed to make a sub, Then when the one person that was in the deli started helping people there was only 1 meat slicer and 1 cheese slicer because they started to "clean Up", this was at 2020 when they still had another hour and half till closing. The one girl takes the order of the person in front of me and then another person comes over and asks for my order but then proceeds to ask if I need cheese cause he cant get my meats yet. I had said no and then the meat slicer became available. The other person then went on to the person behind me with the same results he could have cheese if he wanted it but not meat till they were done with me. He asked for cheese I then realized that it was on sale and asked the girl to also cut me a pound to save on time. She finished the man behind me order and was weighing it when another girl comes over and asks the guy that has been waiting 5 minutes, after the myself and the gentleman behind me had been waiting 25 minutes, to help him. He wants meat and cheese, so she tkaes the cheese out of the slicer that the other lady was using and getting ready to cut for me and is getting ready to slice when I told her the other lady was not done and was going to cut my cheese. The girl very nastily tells me to bad he is still cutting your meat and Im helping my customer. I explain that since there were only two slicers we were tag teaming and that the young man was getting the meat and the lady was getting the cheese. She again told me to bad you will have to wait I am helping my customer. A customer that had been there for 5 minutes!!!! Needless to say I was very angry that I was treated that way, it took me 35 minutes to get only half my order. There was also another lady who had the same issue. We both complained to the manager who I felt just blew me off, because his response oh well Ill have a chat with them. That was two complaints from two separate people and all your going to do is talk to them. No let me get the stuff you guys need, nothing. I will have to reconsider if I go back to this Publix. read more
