There isn't much difference in Food Lion's across the state of SC. They all have same store layout except the freezer section may be on right vs left where it most commonly is. This one in Chapin has one thing I've noticed others around don't, pre-sliced watermelon. You could buy a whole watermelon but you may not get a sweet one whereas pre slice selection is always sweet pieces. In the produce section there are items that are sometimes in stock but then won't see for a long time, like the honey mango. The mango or plantains are usually in stock but it's hit or miss if they will be ripe. There is no self-checkout aisle here that I can remember. You can save quite bit of money with the MVP deals if shop specifically around what is discounted weekly. The employees I have encountered are usually always somewhat jovial.

I do think this is a good idea in two parts first being the additional income from ppl just for the bar. The second funnier part is ppl that drink before (or during) shopping tend to be less concerned about prices. The prices here are not low, it is similar to their rival business also in Chapin. There is a hot bar with decent variety, and fresh fish cuts. There is a niche for Lowes for a certain clientele to get in and out w drinks fast as not very crowded.

In this part of the country "All the Way" seems to be ketchup, mustard, chili, and onions. I skip the onions. The folks behind the counter were friendly and efficient. I grabbed a Coke Zero from the coolers and went to pay. By the time my credit card had gone through, my dog was ready. I ended up taking it out to the car and finished it in a few bites as I was on the road. It was a good dog. I really liked their chili. Everything went down easy. These are the types of dogs that you can have 3-4 of pretty easily (and enjoy every one!)

They have everything from fresh food to frozen food. There are even special finds sometimes that rotate in. The checkout process was simple. You have a choice of self checkout or checking out with an employee. If you're new to the brand, just keep in mind that it's stripped away a lot of things others grocers use in order to keep cost down. There are less employees, a lot of items are not name brand, shopping carts, you provide your bags, you rent shopping carts.
