I used to be very happy shopping at Winn Dixie. I know where everything is located, seemed…read morecomfortable with enough with their employees, until recently they have hired a new staff, who are, let's just say not very friendly whatsoever when they check out your groceries. A few people still ask how are you doing today.. etc. but not the ones I'm speaking of. Plus, I got there one night about 30 minutes before closing and a young man was closing his line down, I didn't know so I asked if he was open..he answered me very quickly bk & abruptly no I'm not I'm going home! I said oh I'm sorry I was just asking, I didn't know. After having a very difficult day grieving the loss of my Daughter and being on my feet I nearly cried, but didn't. This staff they have right now are so out of touch that one young girl was so out of it she looked to be on something, she gave me someone else's groceries who was there before me. I don't even think she knew I was there because she never said hello or anything. She slammed some of my stuff down on the counter like she was mad about something else. I "Do" believe that management needs to STEP up and do something about this situation. Something isn't right..these young people are running things and it's not going to well. I'm not going to be shopping here any longer if there aren't any changes made.

I was never really a fan of this store but for convenience I would go occasionally. Last week I…read morewent twice. Once for groceries once for a prescription for my pet, both times were terrible. The obviously struggling deli worker decided to slice my cold cuts with the plastic on. I didn't realize this until I got home. I thought by calling the store and letting them know they could give the poor deli guy some additional training. The manager I spoke with was indifferent and said " yea the guy is new". The prescription still isn't filled after 5 days and there was no communication on the stores part. Winn Dixie's are closing all around us, it's time for this one to close as well.

I had an extremely inappropriate experience at the Fairhope Walmart on Christmas Eve. About 15…read moreminutes before closing, while shopping normally and trying to finish last-minute items, I was approached by a man in plain clothes who did not identify himself and was not wearing any Walmart uniform or badge. Without explanation, he repeatedly told me to "get out of here" and "you need to get out of here," over and over again. He then said he was going to follow me around until I left and claimed police were already present and that he would call them on me. At no point did he explain who he was or what authority he had. The store was still open, I was doing nothing suspicious, and his behavior actively interfered with my ability to finish shopping. It was intimidating, inappropriate, and completely unacceptable. Customers should never be harassed or ordered to leave an open store by an unidentified individual. This was reported to Walmart corporate and their "ethics"department.. All I have to say is management needs to take this seriously, because no customer should be treated this way. And I will make sure I am heard.

I use to like the Walmart, as much as one can like Walmart. It has gone down over the last few years. I try to limit all visits if possible.

Routes Market is a great regional supermarket with locations spread throughout Alabama,…read moreMississippi, and Louisiana. The company was started in 1960 and has grown considerably by offering quality food at a decent price point in an attractive store setting. Again, the store has a very pleasing ambiance for a supermarket and has a great layout. I liked that they had a salad bar station and an olive bar station and I did spend a bit of time perusing a shelf specifically for products made in the state of Alabama. Karma was the name of the girl who checked me out and she was extremely friendly and professional. She is a fine representative of Rouses Market and Rouses Market is fortunate to have Karma on their team. All in all, Rouses Market is a great supermarket and I would definitely recommend this particular location of Rouses Market. I will give it five stars overall.

A pet rock painted over and buried in the back yard with a shed built over it. I'm not kidding! The cashier who checked us out tonight gave no greeting, no hello and how are you, not even a did you find everything you were looking for? Nope! She actually just grunted at us. And actually tossed her head back and put her nose up. REALLLLY! REALLLLLY! The sushi people - super kind and amazing! Store employee - a zero! And this is not the first time for this exact store! Maybe no employees or a self check is a better idea for this location because the terrible attitude and customer service will cost you money.

It is convenient to both the locals who call Daphne, Alabama home and the travelers cruising down Interstate 10. The Fresh Market is a supermarket geared more towards a higher end experience, more of a food destination type foodie-driven kind of place and their prices reflect that (although they will run sales). The meat department is good, as is the deli. Their Market things have some items you might not find in supermarkets like Publix or Winn-Dixie. All in all, I would recommend a visit here.

First time visiting The Fresh Market but it will…read morenot be my last time It's just so weird that I've seen these stores around and never perused them. Here in Alabama as a Hurricane Ida evacuee, I decided to buy some Rao's pasta sauce on sale. Yeah, I was making big mama spaghetti at the hotel lol. I like tomato basil as it's excellent for lasagna and penne pasta dishes. Bolognese, Italian sausage, mushroom & bell pepper and Italian sausage & mushroom are my favs. Haven't tried the vodka sauce yet but I will. I normally make my tomato sauce from scratch like in The Godfather but I was pressed for time lol. So, this store has a ton of organic and fresh food products. Their meat department has friendly employees willing to help you with any questions about the enormous display of meats & seafood and if you need need fresh cuts of meats, they got you. I love that they still have butchers in this supermarket. I also love that there's a mix of meats like crab cakes, stuffed pork chops, tempura shrimp, stuffed duck and salmon burgers. Oh and the deli is also desirous with all sorts of pre-made lunches and dinners. Everything looked so tantalizing The store is a bit pricey but I love the variety of foods offered and great quality items. Reminds me of Kings Supermarket in Garden City, NY. So, for the reason of my visit: Rao's was only $5.99 and I bought 20 jars...yeah, it's just that amazing plus it's like $9.00+ a jar at other local grocers. This is the only store that regularly has it for $5.99. Oh and I'm a tea connoisseur and they keep a large variety of that as well as coffee. Needless to say, I'm a new fan and currently visit the St. Charles' store regularly. Try them, you'll be hooked.
